It explains the structural differences between A,B and Z DNA by comparing parameters like helix pitch, base per turn, helix twist and the major groove and minor groove structures. B DNA is the most common form of DNA inside cells. While A DNA and Z DNA are originated at different environmental conditions.

    How Z DNA contains more base pairs? It has a rise of 0.37nm which is more than that of B DNA. it means that it has more distance between its base pairs. So, how will it have more base pairs with that increased distance?

    Sir you said Z DNA contain more number of base pair , there is more space blw two base pairs compared to A and B then it should have less number of base pair in Z DNA know sir

    I have a question, sort of unrelated, but I cannot find the answer. The question is: Nutritionists say that you can change your DNA by eating healthier and quitting dangerous vices such as smoking and drinking. Is this true? If so, then could a criminal eat healthy and then change their DNA and be relieved of a previous crime? This doesn't make sense. Can a person change their DNA by eating healthier, or just change their genetics, or can they not change their DNA or genetics no matter what?

      Eating habits may affect your DNA *epigenetically*.Epigenetics govern which regions of your DNA are expressed at what levels. Smoking may give rise to agents that epigenetically modify your DNA so that certain genes are expressed at potentially harmful levels. This goes for bad eating habits as well, I suppose.

      Thank you Simon...So it is true. That is good to know since I have gone the healthy route along with others. How can these DNA changes in an individual change their DNA epigenectically and not genetically? So, police use genetic data and not epigenetic data? I am a bit confused. Can somebody's DNA change in 10 years? How can cold cases use DNA if DNA changes? Does it only change slightly but stay the same enough to convict a criminal?

      N 10SZ DNA is wrapped around protein cores in a structure called *nucleosomes*, similar to beads on a string. These protein cores have tails that extend outward from the nucleosome structure. When the tails are acetylated, enzymes which remove the protein cores, thereby enabling the transcription machinery to _access_ the DNA, are recruited. The DNA may then be transcribed.
      Police make use of *genetic* data, i.e. the sequence of base pairs in your DNA. This sequence typically does not change overtime. Your epigenetics may however change.

      +Simon Nylund The nucleosome modification described above is to answer your question about how these epigenetic modifications take place. It is an example of epigenetic changes to your DNA. Unlike epigenetics, the genetics of your DNA (the sequence of bases) do not typically change; your cells do every possible bit of work to ensure that they do not. Police therefore use the _genetics_ of a suspect's DNA to match against the DNA found at the crime scene. It's also interesting to note that the labs that match DNA typically only look at specific regions of the DNA (markers), so even if your genetics did change overtime, a change in those particular regions is unlikely.
