    Back in the 80's as a kid my family always spent 2 weeks at Kelleys Island. We drifted Earie Dearie's every day and caught many limits. My Uncle was friends with Dan that created the Earie Dearie and we rarely ever had to buy any.. Still have some in the original package. Great video.

      In the 80s, we didn't have the fancy trolling motors that we have now, so drifting was far more common, and this bait is perfect for drifting. Still a great bait today!

    I fish Bass Haven in Ontario (NE corner of Lake St. Clair) during the late spring walleye run and I use their 14ft rental boats. I only use Erie Dearie's up there drifting and get my fair share of eyes every season.

      That is my point exactly, my friend! The Erie Dearie is an underrated, and underutilized tool, that most Walleye anglers should have in their arsenal. Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless!

      I've caught big eyes on Crawlers too, but we typically use them in Summer and early Fall, when Erie walleye just run smaller in Western basin.

    I keep erie dearie in the box. Drift and cast em when nothing else is working. You're right, they do not discriminate. Drum, white bass and walleye last week. Wife got her first Lake Erie eye on a green and white one last week. Always carry an assorted dozen.

    There are so many videos on UA-cam about trolling. I love FISHING for Walleye and there's not many videos on casting for lake Erie Walleye. My experience with Erie Dearis has been less than par. One time I was out fished by them as I was casting crawler harnesses and I didn't have any. Other times I've tried them for about 15-20 minutes here and there with no success so I went back to the crawler harness and picked up 3-6 eyes on those days drifting. Jesus Loves Man. Thanks for sharing that.

    I find a semi swift sweeping motion to the side and letting it fall (like side ways jigging) works really well for me.. they will always hit on the drop so when you pull it there will be a walleye on.

    Hey man great video! Question.. what is your best recommendation for size of the Erie derie? I usually go 3/4 ounce but some people say 1 or less. Also do you rig your Erie directly to braided line or weight plus a leader? Thanks keep up the good content

    • @TeamJesusOutdoors
      @TeamJesusOutdoors  2 роки тому

      I typically run a leader of flourocarbon or mono. 1 carry all sizes, but use 3/4 or an ounce most of the time, and 3/8 less frequently.

    i really like your boat. i have a 16.8 tracker SC atm with a 9.9. I could get a 60hp and have a 9.9 as my kicker but the price to do that is almost as much as i spent on the boat. I would almost be better off getting a larger boat made for kickers. Could you have a tiller with a 9.9 kicker for trolling etc? Or is that kind of boat not really made for it?

    • @TeamJesusOutdoors
      @TeamJesusOutdoors  5 років тому

      You can add a kicker to a tiller rig, but there isn't much need to. You would be better off installing a big electric Minn Kota on back, instead.
