  • Big walleyes are the target on Fishing 411 with Mark Romanack. Lake Erie is the place to find giant fish in great numbers. Using Off Shore Tackle planer boards and bottom bouncers, Mark boats many big fish.

    The sandbar off Lorain produces some mighty fine walleye, too. See you out there sometime, Mark.

    That is the way I like to fish for Walleye too. Bouncing jigs off the bottom. I seem to have a lot of good luck with the curly tail grubs for that. Your fishing not to far from my house too.

    As someone who lives on Lake Erie, Gobies are one of the best things to happen to our fishery.

    When it gets into june in lake erie you can use spoons,cranks,thundesticks,hot n tots,bottom bouncers. they all produce for walleye. The bonus part of bottom bouncers are once in awhile you get a few yellow perch. Take minnows with you if you get a few yellow perch drop the lines & catch a few of those also. When the white perch are biting you cannot keep those things off any thing you fish with. You might end up with 50 white perch to 1 walleye. white perch biting take the real youngsters out & just do not plane on doing any fishing yourself because you will constantly be dealing with those things but it is a blast for the young kids to catch that many fish. Forgot to say early spring you jib for wallye with blade bait & minnow

    That's an average walleye in the Saginaw bay. I got pictures to prove it. We where getting them 25 to 30 inches long. I lived in tawas Michigan walking around the state dock dragging suspended baits. More like trolling but you walk.

    great video! What are your thoughts on that Starweld Boat? I just picked up the 20 but the non PRO version. So far pretty happy with it. Took a gamble with it.

    • @411Fishing
      @411Fishing  5 років тому

      I've only owned one Starweld and it was the 20 Pro. The 20 Pro is similar in layout to the popular Fishmaster series of Starcraft. The boat served me well.

    Ben.
    Nice job with your video. Your voice is easy going and that is reflective in videos. Again well done
    Future considerations
    What time of year is it. That dictates where and how you fish. Wheather a lake or river system
    I have other thoughts but don’t want to write a novel. Ping me if you would like to chat

    Mark does the blade size on a worm harness matter much when trolling for walleyes say if you just invested in size 5 blades instead of having 4,5 and 6 or is there times where 4 is better in Spring and 6 better in Fall??Thank you for teaching us how to fish and invest in equipment you use that works

    • @411Fishing
      @411Fishing  4 роки тому +3

      Great question Jeff. I find that my "go to" size on Colorado blades is the No. 4. Certainly there are times when the No. 5 and 6 are also good and that tends to be on Great Lakes waters where the fish run a little larger and the fish also tend to be more aggressively in competition for food. On inland lakes I generally down size to a No. 3 or even 2. My rule of thumb is that if the bite is tough I use smaller blades and slow down a touch. If the bite is snapping, I tend to upsize in blades and also speed up a tick. I hope this helps.

    What size treble hooks do you use on your spinner rig.?

    • @411Fishing
      @411Fishing  5 років тому +1

      For open water trolling I like No. 2 Octopus hook on the front and a No. 6 Trokar TK310 treble on the tail hook.

    Why don't you give some detail/knowledge about what you were doing. All I got was blade marketing and you caught big fish in 35 ft of water, while bottom bouncing? Speed? Weight you are using? Leech or worms? Time of day or general daypart? Thanks.
