      So let me get this right. The FOLIAGE is what's unnatural to you? Not the purple center because and I quote you saying "I love the magenta glass effect on it" so therefore the mythical part of the build doesn't make it feel unnatural to you. It's the foliage. Seriously uptight over a fantasy build. Now had he said "hey guys I'm going to build the most realistic tree possible" okay your gripe is justified. But on a fantasy build? I absolutely love this build, however, I do wanna point out that the canopy of leaves and branches are a little small in ratio to the trunk. If you think about it in terms of how leaves and branches tend to be organically, they're very much like a network of roots trying burrow down into the ground, but this network is growing up and out, with the different branches almost fighting for sunlight. Lower canopies tend to push themselves out further so they still get the nutrients they need from the sun and not be deprived of what the leaves above soak up and shade it from.
    Its still absolutely beautiful regardless though, and I know it took a bunch of grinding to get even this done, and I love it so much!!

    • @zriebec6935
      @zriebec6935 2 роки тому +33

      Actually, quite a few species of baobab tree grow in contradiction of this. If you look up some of the different species of baobab you’ll see trees with wide trunks and small or sparse canopies. Baobabs are quite interesting and I recommend doing a bit of research on them if you have the time.

    • @JoveRogers97
      @JoveRogers97 2 роки тому +15

      This is an ancient species of baobab from the Pliocene, from back when this region was a savanna. The tree is even older than the hill it's sitting on. They say the druids of old revered this tree, and it's thanks to their magic that it's the only one of its kind still standing.

      @@loekvankoppen5903 that's unfortunate but it still really diminishes the beauty of the build. glow lichen on the ground, jack o'lanterns under moss/snow layers, and other hidden lighting solutions should've been the go-to.
      also im kinda calling BS on that explanation because the issue is the proportions, and those proportions were put in place before the lighting was ever determined to be an issue. that's just my interpretation.

    Utter glorious madness! So impressed, and the see-ish-trough middle part is utter genious.
    I am a bit disappointed with the branches, it looks like a boabab tree or a bonsai-tree with a lot of beginners-mistakes. There is (natural trees) as much matter above as below ground, so with roots THAT massive and impressive, one expects the same/larger amount of mass in main &side-branches, twigs etc etc. (leaves are extra, they do not count as permanent mass)
    Having said all that: I wish there was a way I could just copy paste that absolute work of art into my home world, and make my entire base in it and farm between the branches.

    You should make this part of a mega base! Use builds across your world and connect them with tunnels and rooms use stuff like your starter base as the entrance then connect tunnels to all your builds in this world! That would be awesome! And you would just expand it every time you do a mega build!

      was a functional choice, if I put the leaves out much further it'd be a terrible mob spawner situation underneath and always be dark.
      Even with the holes I put in it's barely bright enough to not spawn mobs :) I followed the general rule of the leaves need to be farther out than the roots but after that it just turns dark in minecraft unfortunately haha
