Yeah, that's true. When I was playing some of the alpha 2 I was desyncing like crazy at the start and sometimes through it would stop desyching and would come back again even near the end of the test. We will see for today if they made it better than yesterday. When I was playing it I did feel it gave me insight of how good this game could be.
People like you are the reason that these idiots can just do whatever they want. All the people should not back any underdevelop but promising contents. Let the makers deal with money issues not you.
The developers son just turned 12 yesterday. Rumor has it, his 18 year old birthday present will be turning over alpha 3 testing to him as the dev retires..
I think you'll enjoy it. I had managed to get into a spot test yesterday and it was fabulous. I think I'll really like this game. Edit: it's also worth mentioning it ran a lot better than expected. With 0 optimization and no driver, that is.
This is gonna be a disaster. I don’t trust people to understand it’s an alpha. They may say they understand it’s alpha but in reality still want to play a game and will judge it as if this is the final product.
I agree - people bought in to play, not test. Some of that is fair though as intrepid is charging for this access. Either way I think it’s the best path forward as you’re likely to actually play it which gives Intrepid expected numbers for testing and the invaluable data that will be collected.
Yep and the term 'Alpha' is an extremely broad church, of course most people don't mind small bugs they can work around, but if they've paid $120 to test a game they literally can't test because it's completely broken then they'll legitimately get angry and I can't say I blame them
You may be right, but if they're playing they're providing feedback. Even if they're not opening a notepad, meticulously recording issues, and reporting them, they're still providing an incredible amount of data through user heatmaps and many other logging tools.
It was pretty lit. Rubber banding for me was a little bit more of an issue than anything else and there was quite a bit of input lag but there were a lot of players.

When I got in a 1000 person queue I just went to another US realm and got in without a wait. I was pleasantly surprised. I doubt it’ll be that easy today.
I played the early stress test and actually had a lot of fun and was impressed with a lot of nuanced things. It was fun! I'm a relative filthy casual MMO player

I played yesterday and the day before. It was solid for an pre-A2 test, but that being said it has been 8 years, so could/should it be better by now, probably lol. The biggest issues for me personally was the login. Day one was fine but yesterday, there was some bug that if you tried to get into game with a character you had already created the que position number would not change and you would just be stuck. You had to create a new character to get into a que that would actully decrease. I did that once then crashed about 40min later and had to do that again and by that time the que was about 1.5k for me. But the handful of hours ingame was pretty solid.
It is crazy. Clearly they bit more that they can chew. Judging by what is complete after so many years, Steven should've made a kickstarter for a 2D platformer, not a huge MMORPG.
@rtchhangte5045 in 32 years we will have classic wow vanilla in its 12th rotation after rolling all the expansions - from vanilla to the last titan which is the last expansion according to blizzard
I understand this argument, however the first 4 of those years the company was small they didnt have the tools they do now, and the switch to UE5. i think its fair to say it will take a while longer but not fair to say all 8 of the years are equal in productivity.
I feel like this is maybe early beta. Alpha was always closed to the public because it was nearly unplayable and required a skilled group of individuals in constant contact (ie coworkers maybe in an office together). If it really is in true alpha after 8 years and it's opening that alpha to the public for $$$? Well, I can't think of any scenario where that worked out well for anyone. Maybe someone can help?
i dont understand why so many ppl treat this like a released game, sure i get its been in development for 8 years, but 50% of that was with barely any staff and no idea of how and what exactly there gonna do. Atleast now they got a somewhat coherent roadmap.
It was shockingly overcrowded , I did not expect that many people , there were literal queues to join the game like you are 300 in the queue at the time log in ... the game was better than I expected , the dynamic part you can't see in one day, so no much to comment on that ... from my perspective it was very much like EQ2 in many ways but with far worse character animation and lighting, there were constant animation glitches, and lighting was very dull in some area and too dark , probably the worst I have ever seen in any mmo but keep in mind this is work in progress... Quests seemed ok but nothing groundbreaking, I managed to get to level 4 in few hours! Game for sure has a huge potential
Just as Garpten said, this is gonna be bad as players are gonna crash out when they see that it isn't a game that they think is ready yet. It's why the NDA was so important. Now everyone is gonna complain about how it's buggy and bad instead of it's potential. I hope the players that buy in can understand what this is.
Disconection protection? I didn't have that shit. Ques were at 3000. Over 2 hour wait. U know how many times I went threw the ques What's crazy is my wife skipped the que and got right in.
tbh I personally don't like to blame devs who take their time to launch games, they are right to do that. But honestly this game is taking so damn long to present more content its weird... ofc its a small company, but I'm afraid when it truly launches or at least final beta comes it will already be outclassed by many other future MMO's, probably the graphical engine will already be a bit outdated compared to newer games (plus eastern game devs have a rpg printing machine)

It was awesome yesterday despite obvious bugs. It feels amazing so far and only getting better
The map was so big bro, my first time playing i actually loved it. The combat system required me to mix and match weapons to min max. I LOVE IT
