As to the question of grandfather or great grandfather. This series is set ~175 years before the time of Daenerys. Giving 25 years per generation would make Jason Lannister the great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather of Joffrey. Give or take a great.
Daemon wanted Rhaenyra to be seen as damaged goods, if everyone believed they already slept together Viserys would be more likely to allow him to marry her.
Ah, the Blackwoods and the Brackens. A rivalry as old as time. Those two houses have been fighting for thousands of years. And it was pretty awesome that the kid stood up for himself and taught that jerk a lesson, albeit a short one.
Daemon actually did change her perspective. He showed her you can do your duties and still seek happiness at the same time.

Viserys is completely tortured through this whole hunt that the white hart will show up, signifying that Aegon should be the heir, and he's so relieved when it's just a regular stag, confirming his choice of Rhaenyra (in his mind).

House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the story and Game of Thrones takes place. You’re looking at the ancestors of a lot of those characters. More like great, great, great grandparents… for example, Lady Redwine is related to Olenna Tyrell.
That's moon tea; that's what teenage Lhysa Tully had to take when teenage Peter Baelish got her pregnant, and then her father married her off to Jon Arryn, who was almost 40 years older than her, but whose previous marriages had failed to produce any children. So was young Robin the result of Lhysa's fertility, or was he a cuckoo's (same genus as the mockingbird) egg in Jon Arryn's nest? That would explain Baelish's concern for the boy, even after he murdered Lhysa, and him not attempting to remove Robin as the heir to the Vale.

I think Daemon is one of my favorite characters. Plus, the costume designer(s) that made his armor did a beautiful job.
"I didn't know it was part of the job" lol But yea what Daemon ultimately wants - and I got this by whatching this episode a year ago - was not so much him becoming King but restoring the glory of the Targaryen Dynasty. And he thinks that he along with Rhaenyra can do it. Notice they always had a special bound together. They are the only ones talking in Valyrian.
An incredible series I think you both would enjoy is Outlander.

I could never figure out why the Queen is always snooping on Raemerya. The Targaryen’s marry their siblings at this point in time. The King is in constant pain therefore, the drinking.

The chemistry between Daemon and Rhaenyra is off the charts. The only reason he stopped himself at the brothel is because he realized he loved her. The seducer became seduced.
