Your last method is a anchovy rig not so much for herring. Plug cut a herring put beads and a blade in front of it. A friend taught me this method about 10 years ago. We destroy coho and chinook on it, don't put a flasher in front of the set up.
Yes sir they both work great in these rigs. We used to run bait threaded herring with a flasher blade on the main umpqua river for chinook as well they work great! We called them rogue river setups
@@walkingonwaterfishing I will share a secret, use walleye blades they are cheaper and designed for slower trolling speeds. Plus look for blades from the great lakes and east coast. You can get a edge with patterns no one out here makes..
