Worked as an A&P mechanic back in the 80's at LAX for TWA and worked on L10LL's . . while doing a "A" check on an aircraft I walked into one that was deployed and got 6 stiches lol
If that RAT is like on the ERJ 175, once it’s deployed, it can’t be retracted until it’s on the ground and a mechanic turns the blades in the right position to go back in the opening.
@@GlobeTrek_ExplorerAviation where's the spinning blade?? This is the lamest video I've seen in quite a while. Even if the emergency rat generator was deployed there's no mention of it. So what's the big deal.
@desertodavid don't mean to burst your bubble but if you used both your eyes and common sense, you would be able to zoom the video in and see the blade spinning right below the wing.
Been on a 787-9 with a deployed RAT. It had a generator problem so used the rat for backup
Thanks for extra details and education. Knowing about systems like this helps many of us feel safer when flying.
It’s 100% a maintenance flight.
Did you know that next month in March, Lufthansa's Frankfurt to DFW service will be using the Dreamliner?
@@easttexasaviation I see. Next month here in Houston, Lufthansa brings the queen (Boeing 747-8i) back
Good catch!😉👍

OUCH!
Great catch, Walt!
I see a rats many times on pre delivery test flights here at Paine Field.
I thought I could hear the blade chop as it flew by you.

Looks like a RAT (RAM Air Turbine) to me.
That’s me😂
Simple Emergency AIr Turbine deployed to provide power .....
Emergency power generator
I'm curious to know what lead AA to go with the RRs for their 772
Tis’ just a Ram Air Turbine that’s been deployed!
I’m surprised you smelled a ram air turbine, did it smell like hydraulic fluid?
Test Drive
It's a ram air turbine
I'll never watch your channel again. This was total clickbait.
How is that clickbait?
