Wow, I thought “yarn ideas” was the yarn that I had in my “stash” listed on Ravelry, not yarn used on that project! 🤯 Thank you for another concise, clear, informative video.

On an airplane getting ready for takeoff watching this helpful video. OMG what a mind blowing episode! I had no idea about the yarn ideas tab. I had no idea. I was wondering if I could use my Brooklyn Tweed Loft for the Twigs sweater and bingo! There were several beautiful projects knit using it. Thank you for this incredibly helpful episode.

Thank you so much for all the information in this video. This an area I have struggled with for years. I am fairly new to Raverly and I am just learning about what a good resource it is. First time I have heard about yarnsub. I find your videos very informative.

Loved this video. Thank you for sharing your expertise on yarn substitutions. I now have more helpful tools at my disposal. I would like to learn more about this topic if you have additional resources. It seems that the black yarn would not be a good substitute for the Brooklyn Tweed since the total yardage/100 grams was so disparate. Am I right? And I agree about the book, it is a wonderful resource.

Thank you so much for watching, Joan! And thats a great question about the sub. The answer is yes... and no! I'm going to cover this in a video in two weeks time since I've received a couple of other questions in follow up to the video!

Thanks for addressing this in Ep 37. You’re the best!!! Yarn substitutions are challenging. There’s so much to consider. It seems to be one of those topics where the more you know, you realize how little you know. 😮

That was fantastic! I have used yarn sub, but wasn’t aware of the information available on Ravelry in the tab. I have purchased several yarn on Ravelry that are discontinued or not available, from the Stashed feature, and seeing who’s willing to sell or trade!

Yay - I'm glad you enjoyed it. And that's a great tip! I'll have to mention the Stashed trade or sell option, too. Thanks for reminding me about that!!

Thank you for this video. As usual it was very helpful. But I have one question. Where do you find out if the yarn is spun woolen or worsted? I've never seen that on a label.

You're welcome! And that's a great question. Some of it I've just come to know over time but let me do a little bit of research. I have my suspicions on what the "full" answer is but I want to confirm before I share. Thanks so much for watching!

Do you find Clara Parkes Big Book of wool helpful?

I am rather embarrassed to admit that I haven't used this resource before. I'll have to check it out and let you know, though knowing Clara, I imagine it's an excellent resource!
