Thanks for another informative video. I wanted to add to the waist shaping conversation. I learned waist shaping from a Amy Herzog class on getting a better fit in your sweaters (Craftsy class). Amy taught that the best place to do shaping is NOT at the side seams, but 2-3 inches in from the sides - think princess seams in a woven garment. I have used this method a number of times, and it works great for sweaters in plain stockinette. I even used it on my Weekender. I think you might be able to find the details in any of Amy Herzog’s books.

Love your new glasses Meaghan even though you were sad that you broke your lovely teal ones. Your videos are always so informative.

Thanks for circling back to yarn substitutions using a super wash yarn and a non-super wash. Looking forward to learning more about this topic.

Thanks for all the tips - yarn, patterns, etc. Soooo many variables = many points to cover! Always something new to learn (or…”oh, yes, forgot about that handy tip/trick”…)!!
Spinning wheel took a walk to better spot?!?

Thanks for your explanation about the differences between the woolen spun non superwash and the worsted spun superwash yarn. I would say that superwash yarn is slicker. That’s why it tends to “grow” with wearing because the wool scales have been removed. Versus Non-superwash which still has the scales. I would be interested in you delving further into depth on this subject. Also sheep breed types vary in how the yarn behaves. The spinning wheel is missing.

    The spinning wheel is missing.
I’ve also heard of adding waist shaping along the front of the sweater like darts in shirts, rather than at the axillary line.
Woolen vs worsted makes so much difference in sweater weight, drape etc. This was a great video.

I really do love your tec-talk videos! You always have great information, which helps me understand the mysteries in my mind around, about yarn and knitting. Your spinning wheel is missing! 😎.
I am wondering about ply’s of yarn. Some yarns are 2 ply, some are four. I never know which one to buy or why I should buy one over the other?

I love all your tips! Subbing yarn is so tricky, and I love all the tips and tricks! Often I’m looking for a more affordable option for yarn. The yarn store helpers are great, but I don’t think they always know good substitutions…so I like having this personal knowledge! Your spinning wheel is missing; did you re-organize?

Thanks for answering questions about waste shaping. I am busty so that will help me also I have heard about bust darts. Some people say to measure under the arms instead of around the full bust. My first sweater was the flax that I was able to watch a tutorial as I knit because it was my first fitted garment. I went with 6 inches of positive ease Andrea Maury says she usually likes, well it was like 2 sizes too big. She of course is a petite and small to average bust so not a great ease for me. I will watch episode 12. Where is your spinning wheel? Lol thank for the opportunity to win that great yarn and your pattern. Judy

Hi ! For short rows, how do you know how many stitches separate each short rows ? I mean, you knit, make your short row, purl, make your short row, knit, pass for instance the double stich and then what ? Is there a rule ?
(Sorry for my English, I'm French so technical terms are not easy for me !)

Something else different, but it's not "behind you" -- your glasses and hairstyle. Not sure if they count or not, because they're not behind you!
