- it's finally summer break!! as a quick update: this summer i plan to post 2 vids per week instead of 1. exciting times! it won't be a perfect schedule though bc i'm also trying to relax after a stressful first year :')
today's vlog documents my last week as a first year college student at UCLA. i spend a lot of time studying for final exams and working on school projects. but i also see some friends and enjoy boba, art museums, the Asian Supermarket Aesthetic, and the summer vibes. please note that we are all fully vaccinated and following california's public health guidelines! i know that situations vary around the world so please be safe xx

This video really encapsulates how it feels that last week. I remember my boyfriend and I were the last people to leave our residence hall, and watching all the furniture be removed, the bustling, loud hallways get emptier and emptier, was just the depressing feeling of losing your first space that was really yours. We love you lots, and it only means moving on to bigger, better things.

Gosh this is so aesthetic. I personally just finished my finals today and this video was soo relaxing. It’s so nice to make a recollection of key events in a week and watching videos like this one is oddly pleasing.

Study quill has such a gorgeous aesthetic. Also, her editing is French kiss. It takes me 48 hours to edit a 2 minute French commercial. How do you edit a long vlog? So impressive especially being a student at the same time.
2 things you never realize until you leave your dorm after your first year. 1)when the heck did I fill this tiny limited space with so much stuff. 2) how much it really hits you when your dorm is empty again that you made so many memories in that tiny space.

i had a similar experience of not even spending a full year in the dorms and it’s crazy the level of attachment you develop when it’s where you spend 80% of your time!! big hugs and i hope your transition back home goes well
I was literally so sad rn cause my friends got shuffled in different sections I cried a lot not having the best times but ya you made me happy jasmine I am kind over it now

im moving into dorms in my university (not gonna say where just for the sake of privacy) in August, and I'm so worried about stuff like homesickness, not being able to make friends, the workload change, all that, and seeing you go through the same stuff and coming out on the other side?? is just?? super comforting?????

Ok, I am only 12 right now and in 7th grade. But you have inspired me to be the most organized person yet. I have improved quite a lot in study.too. just wanted to thank you for shaping me in the person I am today. I have also been asking dad about different kinds of subjects and examination. And I am happy to say that I am prepared to become a grown up. LY.

I got the chance to experience "college life" when I studied abroad on exchange in my 2nd of year of uni, felt absolutely heartbroken when I had to leave, especially when leaving my apartment room, felt the same way you felt in this video, my heart crumpled into pieces during those last 3 minutes of this video. Truly, young adulthood is filled with impermanence. You put words into these emotions I have been feeling for a long time.

Moving day, done this many times. Sometimes I loved it and sometimes I hated it. They're definitely beginnings and endings of different parts of my life. I've revisited places I used to live and they just don't have the feeling they used to have, like the old saying goes, you can't go back again or something like that.
It was wonderful you got your ID card back. Same thing happened to my wife when we were living in Japan one December, she lost her wallet but still had her purse. About a week later on Christmas Day we get a knock at the door and the building manager brings a taxi driver to our apartment with her wallet. He said he found in in the taxi when he got off shift and remembered her. Nothing was missing and I tried to give him a reward but he wouldn't accept it; I think it was due to Japanese custom or something but we did thank him profusely for this kind deed.
17:17 if anyone was wondering, judging by her tower name, she was in a “plaza” room, which is the second most expensive option, but the cheapest where you don’t need to use a community bathroom

I think this is the first time I've seen someone this emotional over leaving college for the summer and I'm so glad I finally got to see it! Because I know I'm gonna be sad abt leaving college for the summer and after graduation even tho I'll be excited to go home/be dne with school.

I used to have bangs like that but I switched to frames! I would always keeps my bangs out just as they are or curl/straighten them while putting my hair in different braids, high ponytails, and side ponytails. I honestly think bangs/frames make hairstyles a LOT cuter!

I'm still attached to my dorms from college (and it's been over 20 years) and was crushed when one of them was torn down for new construction. I felt like all my memories were gone, but they really weren't. I hope that next year is more "normal" for you and you get the full college experience.
