It's a silly car, but I like it! What do you think of it?
Hurray!
You sure wouldn't want a passenger with long hair, with the alternator belt right there.... it looks fun to drive, though!
I love it! But I’d be scared the Karen’s wouldn’t see me 😂
pretty cool but those seatbelts look dangerous, shoulder straps look to be mounted too low and could compress your spine in an accident. I would swap out the seats and fix that ASAP.
Its fantastic, I'd love to be able to do this someday
It's too perfect to drive an exoskeleton car in sunlight
US: you can take a custom buggy on the streets, and drive without doors and sh1t
Europe: you can't even put bigger tires
Spectacles, testicles, watch and wallet... Casey you just made my day
Karen: Look there's an entitled millennial talking to himself in a dune buggy behind me, probably going to go eat avocado toast on tiktok.
you could pay all the money for an SSC tuatara and you still won't get the feel that this has on the streets haha
"Don't hit Karen shell freakout and sue me she has nothing to do but drink red wine in suburbia."
lol
The 4 hand signals:
Open left hand with arm fully extended= left turn
Open left hand with arm up at a right angle= right turn
Closed fist with arm down at a right angle= stop
Middle finger= stop driving like a jackass
the last onee is very effective
Shoot, I thought stop was arm down closed fist...
@@chrisej5987 You're right, my mistake.
this guy is a perfect mix of everything😂 socially awkward self aware funny and from what i can tell open minded
After being put into mandatory quarantine for 14 days on Monday evening do to my spouse testing positive for covid, I needed a smile. 😂 Thank you. 😎
I'm based on a really old Beatle, Paul McCartney, too because I'm sixty-four. Plus, people don't need me and people don't feed me!
An estranged member of Sgt. Pepper's band. Nice.
@@Petrospect Paul is dead, Paul is dead, No he's not, no he's not! He's in the walrus suit! It was REDRUM!
That sand rail is so cool .very nice sounds great .love the blue paint color .😊 love the impressions of the Karen's lol nice video I hope to have a sand rail soon .my Dad had one back in the 1970s when I was a kid had lots of fun going to the desert great memories .thanks
It would be so much fun to fit that thang with some wide wheels at both ends and G-19 Goodyear slicks for high adhesion tarmac joy. ( and front brakes too) I would so much pop on some goggles and road it myself... even at my advanced age. Some of us boomers are forever motor-heads.
Hey Casey, can you share your camera set up your using? For instance are you using a external mic with it and what mount you use? I'm new to rails (just bought this week. I noticed how well your shifts. I have some adjusting to do to get mine shifting like that.
"Nice Jungle Gym" is the most amazing thing i'm going to hear today!
man, buggies are so much fun. the last time I was in one I ended up coming home looking like swamp thing as I was covered in mud from head to toe. hit a mud hole which was a bit deeper than I thought. the one thing I remember vividly is the wall of mud coming towards me when it hit the mud hole, fun times.
I always wanted a jungle jim with wheels and 200hp 🤣🤣🤣.
Hey casey, have you ever driven a car with a rotary engine ? What’s your opinion regarding rotaries ?
Would love to play with that all sunny days, reminds of my dune buggy days!!! Enjoy C.C.
Perfect execution of the California rolling stop.
Where can o buy these
What size rear tires?
Casey, not that way at all for a lot of people, badmouthing a dude in a dune buggy. I see one running around Franklin County in Pennsylvania and I totally dig it. He's living his best California retro life. And bro, c'mon, dune buggies were popularized by all those baby boomers lookin' for fun in the sun and the sand and anywhere they could roam in fun and freedom. So please give your elders the respect they deserve for that. And for that matter, the greatest decades of Indy were thanks to baby boomers and their parents, both in the stands and Gasoline Alley.
@Casey Putsch. Mate you are living my dream in this one! I'd give my left nut to own a Meyer's Manx and use it as a daily. I live vicariously through this video
bike tyres on the front would be ace for cars which camber a lot during a turn, like mercs for example.. like a couple of litre bike rears at 190 width - ive been wanting to get a rail for a few years, but not sure what kind of engine id put in in it - thought about sport touring bike engines but not sure the clutch would like hauling that much weight.. any idea what the whole thing weighs with and without your engine in it?
no ceramic coating tutorial on this buggy ?
BG's finest at the carwash. hahahaha
What is it about ride along videos that is so addicting? Another great video. Forgot to mention- I SWEAR I've seen those SAME TWO "boomers" at the car wash in Livonia, Michigan! No joke!
i see a buggy like that one you got there just on someones driveway just sittin there
I love this
Why the motorcycle tires on the front, instead of a flat automotive tire with more of a contact patch?
Sand rails have skinny tires up front so that you do not get stuck in deep sand. Wider tires just turn into a plow on this type of car.
@@brianspenst1374 yea but on the road, they may lead to a lot more understeer possibly?
@@brianspenst1374 But you could have the same width tire with a flat bottom, that would give you far more traction on pavement, without giving up the ability to dig in and turn in sand, could you not?
I would daily that too, if I had one. I'm 50, but 12 at heart. Young enough to still wanna be a kid, and old enough to not give a shit about what anyone else thinks. Once somebody pays for my stuff....THEN I might care. Maybe.
I would think signals and front brakes would be mandatory since the VW had them originally. Guess it comes down to your inspection station.
Cops here in Australia would have a heart attack if they see that on the road. Cheers from down under.
We’re did you get that thing it’s so cool
Next time take your seat covers off, you won't sit on a wet seat. Those low back covers are easy, my Berrien Rail has high backs. They're a bit more difficult. Thanks for the ride along.
My fiberglass buggy has no signals either. And I feel the same way driving it. Always think about crashing. It would not be good
Unlike those boomers and their "race car" reference I would have opened with "sweet rail must be a plast to drive". Yep in my younger years I helped build a rail and driven them
Those stripes for the parking lot look fresh! My company probably did it. Wish I would've had the chance to paint in front of the infamous Genius Garage!
Any chance that you know who produced that mid-engined chassis?
Thanks
Sand Toys Inc., ~1970's
That hand signal thing somebody showed me one with the middle finger never did get that one LOL but seriously today's anti-theft deterrent is manual shift.
I misspoke today's theft deterrent is manual shift
Just ran across this video and said “hmmm, that drive looks familiar.” I used to live a block south of that car wash!
I thought it was 5 because I saw you video, Glad to know I didn't waste the last couple hours not knowing!
Its...Spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch lol
I'm a boomer and I wasn't triggered.
spectacles, testicles wallet and watch lol been a while since I heard that one I'm old
Put a Ducati V4R in it
All you need now is a .50 cal mounted on the passenger side.
It's called the sand rail
I get people all the time come check out my hearse whenever I wash it by hand.. always laugh at the comments I hear 😆
I noticed your seat belts are mounted lower than your shoulders.... you should try to raise that to level with your shoulders.... if you need that harness to hold you in like how it is, it will break your shoulder bones.... i ben lookin into a harness setup for my car
I want a tube car so bad man .. lol
Casey! You replied once before when I said I want one of these. I would really like to know more about this frame, setup and what ever else you could tell me. Please!
That's cool but I am wonder how its street legal no mirrors or windshield
M whole life I have wanted a rail I could use as a daily.
Boomers were totally confounded! "Hey..it's a...nice...uh...car. K...bye!" 😆
Nice jungle gym
Someone washing thier car. Casey in the next space says "I'm triggered" in a weird voice.
Wood County!?! I live in Haskins. I'm looking for someone to cruise the streets with in my buggie.
Casey: how do you do fellow millennials
Porsche, mid-engine rail, ....nice....
You'd never be able to drive a vehicle like that on a public road here in the UK but man would you piss some people off if you did. IVA laws are strict here... no headlights, no mirrors, no brake lights, no indicators, no front brakes..... no way a vehicle like that is getting driven on British roads..... no wonder us Brits are so uptight.... we miss out on all the fun :)
How much does it cost to own a buggy .
I’ll sell you this one for 9 grand. Then add gas and just change oil
Boomers, Karens and racing.. 'Merica! Also you've been demonitized..here's your patriotism trophy 🏆 You sound like me, driving my 18-wheeler semi through the city.
Your picking up fast food in dune buggy falls way short of the guys who when through a McDonald's Drive through and ordered food for their scorpion tank crew with said scorpion tank.
What you said about the Karen's is going to be their genuine reaction ._.
I swear UA-cam unsubed me 😢 I used to watched you all the time.
Disappointed you didn't actually drive it on the sand dunes...
Swap for a 200hp motor then gotta be fast
Front brakes
lol gas ?
Yup. Triggered by Boomers. Ha!
Casey, I know it’s off topic but here’s a video of the stratos ua-cam.com/video/Rr0YSZZ-FYg/v-deo.html
Should've taken the intersection sideways
I heard him saying that, but I think that be pretty hard to get a rear engine rear wheel drive open-diff sandrail sideways with that big a tire on pavement. I would expect it would Putch in the turns. LOL!
Im surprised that the camera actually pics up your voice lol
It doesnt
@@CaseyPutsch i can hear your voice quite clearly though 🤔
@@shinren_ think about it.....
@@shinren_ mic picks up your voice, camera picks up the image
With references to the male genitalia he’s burning the bridges with not only the boomers but also the typical hyper-sensitive millennials and zoomers.
Can you get me a dune buggy
Its spectacles, testicles wallet and watch..
Just saying :D
can please give me
Casey,, please stop stepping on the seats.
You can step directly to the floor, can't you?
If I want to ruin them. So no.
@@CaseyPutsch so you can avoid sitting where you just stepped!!! (*facepalms)
Why do I care? That’s how you do it in race cars.
@@CaseyPutsch I love you Casey, and that buggy too, but the only people who think that is a race car are those two boomers :)
Jesus loves u all and have a great day
Not sure why you think it’s funny to belittle people you don’t know. I’m a viewer of you videos and I’m 64 years old. Was driving dune buggies before you were born. Many “boomers” watch your show and probably didn’t appreciate the way you referred to them. And what evidence did you have about the lady driving the black SUV was a Karen. You will end up stereotyping your audience. Love your engineering content but not keen on your empathy skills.
How not to be a boomer: Don't get offended.
