Exhaust sound is amazing, but what really got me was how smooth that little AC engine runs, no pops on the down shift, super smooth powerband. Perfectly built solid little motor, gotta respect that.
This is so cool, like I legit did not expect to see this car being featured/not being exposed to Dune Buggies before. The variety of cars is definitely a huge part of the appeal of this channel.
Man, he couldn’t afford the chrome roll bar. You know all the kids with BMW 2002’s didn’t let him hear the end of that when he pulled up to High School 😂
I have had my fiberglass bodied dune buggy for 30 years now. This one is set up for street. Although mine is street legal mine is set up for off road with a full roll cage, more ground clearance, off road tires, etc. They are fun.
I think we all have a bit of Tedward in us when we see a cool car we like on the road and have to stop the current conversation to geek out a little bit, in this case it’s a 57😂
Tedward Im currently going through a very hard breakup, and your videos distract me from everything related to it, that’s how entertaining your channel is Keep doing your thing✌🏽✌🏽
I've always wanted a beach buggy, but don't have a place to keep it in the winter. Fell in love with them after seeing the original "Thomas Crown Affair" with Steve McQueen. He has a blast tearing up a beach on the north shore. I think it was Ipswich.
Was thinking the same thing. Tedward needed some sand. I think TCrown Affair scene from the original was shot down on the Cape but the polo match was definitely Myopia CC in S Hamilton (next to Ipswich!)
Ah these things are great! When I was a kid someone 3 streets over had one in red. Exhaust note is insane, love how it reflects of cars passing you as well.
I'm pretty sure ive seen this buggy at either big Endicott show in Dedham or a world of wheels at the world trade center. it's pretty sweet and very purple
A friend of mine was helping us pack our BMX track with one of these, his throttle got stuck and he jumped like 30-40 feet in the air off of a 10 foot tabletop. It was insane watching this thing soar before it landed nose first(they came out alright, mostly scratches). Although the chassis was bent it still drove away fine lol those things are indestructible.
Used to know an oldtimer who could take one of those vw engines out, disassemble and rebuild on his kitchen table in like an afternoon no sweat. Awesome content as always 👌
After watching this video, I rented one of these on my beach trip to the outer banks of North Carolina this past summer. Unfortunately I was only allowed to drive within an 8 mile stretch where the speed limit was 35, but it was still a ton of fun. Been a fan of ACVWs since I was a kid and that was my first time really driving one so it was a dream come true!
Hey Ted, I don't recall you doing many videos involving trucks. Think you could get your hands on the ram srt10? I've heard the torque is mind boggling
@@TedwardDrives That would be great man. I was into them during my middle school years. Kinda forgot about them until recently. Keep it up, I'm a supporter of your content and you seem like a down to earth genuine guy. Happy horsepower!
Love it.. First thing i do is turn those white letter tires around.. Would really make it pop... I am in Worcester if you want ill take her down the highway for you so we can figure out the top speed.... Excellent video's you share...
12:39 I'm cool you wear shorts in these videos. However-if folks who don't like your shorts even disturb you-there is a way to both cover the legs and stay comfy in the hot weather. LINEN pants. Oh, what a cloth! Incredibly suitable for hot summers.
Es un Buggy realmente Hermoso, deseo realmente tener uno de esos, que bendición que ya tienes el tuyo, saludos desde Venezuela "enjoy the ride brother"
12:24: Yay for pronouncing Willys right! And yeah, that video was one of very few that gave me a bit of pucker factor just watching it. I love old Willys/Jeep stuff -- heck, I learned to drive stick on a '50s CJ -- but that thing was scary, mainly because of how much of it _wasn't_ there anymore due to rust.
Hah, really? I was probably one of them, but I figured I'd be the only one. If it's any consolation, I also posted on one of Jeep's videos -- I think it was the unveiling of the Grand Wagoneer about a year ago -- when they presented an overview of Jeep history, and their own guy pronounced it wrong. Of course, they ignored me, and I saw someone in another of their videos later still pronounce it wrong. I hope you don't get too many haters the other way around now, because I smile when people pronounce it correctly. It tells me they actually know something about the company and its history.
Considering my 1600cc dune buggy, I can only get up to 65mph, on a slight decline. They do have transmissions to swap out, that would allow for some higher speeds tho.
my grandpa has one of these. this is the entirety of my childhood. coolest car ever
Love that exhaust sound
Yeah sounds so sweet!
Aural sex!
almost sounds like a subaru
@@carson2.3 Stop saying this. These engines have existed well before Subaru was a thing. If anything Subaru’s sound like air cooled VW’s.
@@CJBMAGGOT94 “almost”
I never realised how much I want a beach buggy in my life!
Absolutely.
Absolutely Right
I know right! Thing is sick

That Engine Sound is so Unique!!! I can listen to it all day long hehe.
sounds like the old stick shift bushman’s we had at the golf course

6:38 i would never with a camera on my head and ear muffs on, very brave man😂
hahaha I completely forget what I look like when I'm filming these. Dude was awesome for pretending he didn't see it
Never heard a Buggy pov drive video! That was fucking cool!

That’s great to hear it helps. Going through something similar myself and I’m glad I can be that outlet for you. Time heals almost as much as cars
This buggy sounds absolutely amazing 💥
Not sure if it’s just your ear muffs with earbud setup, but that engine/exhaust sound phenomenal… nice job capturing that sound

This is still my favorite vid tbh
Nothing beats a VW
Ah these things are great! When I was a kid someone 3 streets over had one in red. Exhaust note is insane, love how it reflects of cars passing you as well.
Would love to see you drive a rotary engine. Mazda RX-8 Maybe?
Naaaahh it's gotta be the FD. Then again I may be a tad biased.
@@RedheadButNotReally I wouldn’t mind seeing an fb, fc, or fd rx7. Anything with a rotary would be rad to see on this dude’s channel.

Thanks for the ride along. A car that can actually be driven. A simple pleasure. Sublime.
LARPer cross over episode! Love the car, looks like a lot of fun! Would definitely be nervous on the highway.
It already had one of those passenger side infotainment systems 🤣
haha and it didn't work for years! My buddy Tommy, the owner's son, figured out why it wasn't working and now you can blast music from it
@@TedwardDrives Well there is enough music coming from the rear anyway 😉

I am smiling and laughing out of joy just watching it. My '72 beetle is a blast, but this looks even more fun! And it sounds amazing. ENJOY IT!
Me and my dad are rebuilding one with a 1835 scat engine
Now I have to drive one!

The sound is just incredible.
Man, Texas Roadhouse wishes they had as much meat as that exhaust note.
What a riot that thing must be to drive. I gotta build one now.
Man I love these things, real popular in the 80s to

That first slo mo was everything!!
Dick Dale falls nicely between ac/dc and beach boys. Crank it up!
That looks super fun! Would you take that or a 550 replica? :)
It’s gotta be the 550!
Nothing like a 4 boxer sound
Love that colour! 💜
6:10 that downshift is addicting
This is one of those Weird Yet Fun Cars
That exhaust sounds amazing
I gotta put this exhaust on my VW bus with the same engine 😂 Sounds like some weird NA sti with no power but honestly not bad.
That's the reason why I love America 👌🏼🤩
beautiful Dune Buggy! never seen such an amazing purple paint!
Give more car this buggy ..i love this car n good sound
Had a Manx, loved it, used to love going on UK beach's and just mess around, scaring people walking the other way :D
