I used to own a frozen custard store and sold pints and quarts (very expensive!) - because of the low overrun or air content of frozen custard, it's rock hard out of the freezer and impossible to scoop. In fact, you can tell the quality of ice cream by how 'heavy' the container seems. Ice cream is sold by volume, not weight, cheap stuff is full of air. Just microwaving it for 20-30 seconds softens up the entire container just enough to be scoopable - this same technique would work to soften up the frozen pints here and make them easier to process initially, as well as maybe working for when you've eaten half and refrozen the pint jar - just nuke it for 10-30 seconds; the time depends on how much fat vs. water is in your recipe and how much is left over in the jar.

The reason the eggnog tasted creamy is the fructose and quar gum that's in it. I have to be careful of fat so I use non fat milk and quar gum as a base and my ice cream comes out very creamy and thick. If you don't want to wait for 10 minutes to soften the frozen mixture you can microwave it for 5 to 6 minutes before putting it in the Creami. Some other good simple flavors are coffee, lemon sherbert, cocoa and milk with sugar, milk and coconut milk. Another great flavor but takes some effort is ginger ice cream.

This is exactly what I have issue with all these "recipes" I see on YT. WHY would you buy foods with additives and preservatives when the purpose of this machine is to use wholesome, FRESH ingredients?? If I wanted all this junk in what I'm eating I'd just buy the store bought nightmare. Simple ice cream to me is milk/cream, sugar (unprocessed like Panela and definitely NOT something that just says "sugar" because unless it say "CANE sugar" it's made from sugar beets and GMO, NO THANKS!) and vanilla for example. All the ingredients you can make from scratch you should. Otherwise you are just creating more work for yourself and you're still getting junk. I don't want guar gum, high fructose corn syrup, or anything else like sugar substitutes. I saw recipes using protein drinks (read the ingredients on those... YUCK!) and then sugar free pudding too. It's just disgusting.

@@bonniesherwood3251 You can also use a good blender (like a Vitamix that can handle turning ice cubes into a slurry) - small amount of water or milk alternative, plus the Ketochow or protein powder of your choice, plus ice cubes. It'll be LOUD but you end up with a Wendy's Frosty type spoonable drink. Ketochow has added thickeners just like fast food 'milkshakes' do as well as mineral/electrolyte salts which are needed when you're doing keto, especially at first. Other than that, Ketochow is just milk protein and flavorings. It's very expensive for what it is, but it's convenient.

I am learning about the Creami before purchasing though I have made plenty of ice cream in the past. Being a person who usually cannot leave well enough alone, I think I would add a tablespoon or two of sweetened condensed milk to my single fruit. And I think adding a little of your eggnog to the single fruit recipes would be equally delicious. Mind you, I am thinking about my future creations here, so I cannot yet claim any experience with the Creami. Indeed, I can't even find one to buy right now. But making the banana a ice cream has me wondering do I use milk, or your vanilla ice cream, or maybe actual pudding? Unfortunately I can’t eat bananas without cooking them first😢. I get sick for some reason. And bananas were a favorite when I was a kid. My second child (I have 5) is allergic to bananas and after having her I have not been able to eat them raw. So I can’t really try the different ones myself to see what works. Thanks

Yogurt is okay healthy, kefir is so much better; I make both at home. Plain milk kefir is naturally low in sugar, as is yogurt when fermented for 20 hours (lactose is nearly all gone)
But this yogurt has 18 grams of sugar per serving, and is the second ingredient. Cane sugar merely sounds healthier than just sugar. That is not healthy as unused sugar in your blood turns to fat. And, as far as fat goes, it doesn't make you fat. So to make low fat yogurt, and other foods, you have to add things that aren't normally in yogurt, like pectin and various gums. Ugh.

    1) The rod that descends into the food during the operation and returns to the hidden place at the end of the operation must be dismantled in the laboratory.
    2) The lid that rotates, at the end of the process if you rinse it with water then you will cause the "ice cream" to enter the parts of the lid and the lid cannot be disassembled for cleaning purposes,

Because it's not about doing the healthiest thing. It's about variety, and choosing options that could be healthy while doing so. An apple on a hot day won't satiate me. But a bowl of apple sorbet? That would hit the spot. Why not just let people do what they want to do?

You kept stressing no high-fructose corn syrup, but then to mention adding caramel, candy, and making a float which uses soda is just so disturbing. Thank you for the recipes regardless

Quick note TTandT: The BRAND is NOT the PRODUCT. Egg Nog is Egg Nog. A blender is a blender. Vegetables are not better at Whole Foods then they are a Aldi or Trader Joe's... the Brand isn't the thing to "look for" the product is... unless the BRAND is paying you.

𝙉𝙊𝙏, pretty sure you've never tasted this particular brand of Egg Nog, it does not taste like any of the other brands, I've had them all. Southern Comfort delish... Another side note Aldi's veggies may be the same, but I promise they don't keep fresh as long, I get many things from there, but fruits/veggies are no longer one of them. I was a marketing major and yes all things considered most products are the same. But like toilet paper all things are not created/treated equal. So maybe Aldi fruits and veggies are not as fresh upon arrival as other stores 🤷🏾‍♀️.

You can’t honestly believe this theory. What you’re saying is:
Cola is cola…Coke and Pepsi are the same?
A car is a car…a Kia is equivalent to a Lamborghini?
A restaurant is a restaurant…McDonalds and Burger King taste the same?

The BRAND is very much the PRODUCT. That's why some BRANDS are more popular than others and taste so much better. And why are we typing in all caps? Are we yelling? That could be fun too.

I don't know why people go crazy over these Ninja machines but I don't really care! for me (my personal opinion) I prefer to buy my frozen yogurt at the grocery store than to buy these machines which cost a small fortune AND very loud either - while respecting the choice of others, it's a NO for me, I'll pass my turn !

I totally get that - I am a minimalist in most areas of my life. BUT I love ice cream, and I live in a small town. I can't get healthier options for myself or my Type 1 diabetic child. So this is a game changer for us!

Probably because as you said it's a choice, people spend $$ on what they want when they want. Just like you choose to watch a ninja creami video yet bash folk for buying them. We all make choices.
