Great information Jim. Thank You.
+mr10man69 and thank you for watching and commenting
Great video, thank you! We just hatched 13 out of 30 bobwhites our first time mail order. Next will be 50 coturnix from our own flock into the little giant. I really want to build an box like you've used. I dislike the polystyrene, would rather build a nesting box rigged with a backup heat pad for nesting boxes to hatch more naturally.
Thank you for your comment and for watching our video Jared I've never tried a heat pad before but it might be something I would like to try it sounds like you are raising quite a few quail. We will putting up some new or videos here shortly. Please stay in touch many comments you might have thanks again quiet
Hi, would you please tell me which housing is best for 7- 10 quail. I have 3 that are 1 month old and the other 7 are adults. I’m afraid the older ones will hurt the babies so I’ll keep babies inside for another 3 weeks. I’m looking for an outside house. I can put the house in my greenhouse in winter. I’m in Augusta, Ga. so it doesn’t get real cold. Anyway which house do you recommend ? Under 160.00. Thanks so much, Robin
Robin thankyou for your question. Ok yes for a while you will need to keep the small birds separated. For the amount of quail you have a cage 4x4x8 will be good and give them plenty of room. Just separate about 3 foot of it for the smaller birds. Then as they get bigger you will have e plenty of room for all of them. This can be built From galvanize chicken wire and it will not be very expensive to build Use 2 x 3 wood for the frame and then attach the chicken wire to the frame. I hope I answered your question if not please let me know if you need any further help don't hesitate to let us know
