Exactly! I was so young. My brain mistakened it for Spyro because of the gem collectibles and its graphics looking kinda like it.I got Spyro on switch and was looking for all this😂. Then I saw the croc game cover online and it all came back to me
@@minjusears Midevil is awesome, if you have a phone that can work a PS1 emulator or a computer and download Midevil from either freeroms or romsmainia you should definitely at least give it a 15 minute go. I guarantee you'll at least tolerate it.

"best looking" ? The graphics are pretty crap, even by PS1 standards. The models are all jittery and the edges flicker and wobble like crazy. Even Spyro 1, which was released just a year later, looks way better. Heck, Crash 1 was released a whole year EARLIER, and still manages to have better graphics.
GrimeHouse Yeah, I'd rather have a game that has bad graphics but fun and creativity than one with great graphics and no creativity or fun at all. Like, the Atari game Adventure has HORRIBLE graphics. But it makes up for it with its level of fun and it's concept!
+Gotmilk0112 I don't know what engine this game was using, but Insomniac had a panoramic 3D engine which was written from scratch by one of the programmers, which was why Spyro had the level of detail it did whilst not pushing the PS1 too far. Nor do I know what engine Crash 1 was running in. My guess was ND built something similar that works, but graphics aren't everything, the game has to be fun too, you don't watch a game do you? You play it.
It was the controls that always screwed me. If the game controlled like crash or spyro instead of having tank controls, it would be up there with them.
What about croc 2? lol. And I think they should’ve been more generous with lives. (especially when you get a game over) I’m trying to 100% this now after playing it as a kid and I’m struggling!! (At 73% atm)
Major nostalgia happening while watching you play. This was my first ever game for the PSX when I was a kid, it's fun to see all the memories flowing back as you progress throughout it. Sadly I never got to rescue the king at the end.
I miss playing this so much. Used to come home from school and sit and play this for hours, must have played it through hundreds of times. Good times! I'd kill for a remaster!
I could never complete the entire game without taking damage (or lose a life), so this is amazing. Fantastic job. Great game, one of the best soundtracks in video game history.
I personally think it needs an improved re-make. I noticed how some levels don't take long to complete, and some of the music is used too much. The re-make should include every original level, but also a lot of new levels, each level should be like three times the size, it's more challenging than the original, each level has more more areas you have to travel through, more question mark boxes around and more stuff to collect. E.g. the Darkness Descends level, could be like double or triple the size than the original in the remake, it's got all the original stuff but it's bigger and has new editions and areas you have to go through.
This game brings back so many great memories from being a young boy. Certain games have certain vibes and a certain "feel" they give off and this game always gave me a really sweet, yet gloomy, eerie, dark, wondrous presence that can never be replaced I think "jersey devil" game was similar but Croc takes the cake.

If you have a PS3, then all you need to do is buy one of the original PlayStation copies, the PS3 is compatible with them. It's PS2 games where you either need an early backwards compatible model or download them from the PSN.
oMG I played this game 15 years ago when I was in year 2 in primary school, it was on the library computers and I played it every lunchtime. I used to think there was a secret boss called the jelly boss that you could find in the map somewhere, so I spent my years in primary school exploring every single pixel of every level looking for the jelly boss, it was only until I reinstalled the game yesterday that I realised there was no jelly boss. But the nostalgia from playing the game again was great, I remembered every level as if I had only played it the day before, but it was weird because I could remember every single level vividly as a played through it but I had no clue what the next level was going to be like until I got to it and then the waves of nostalgia hit and I remembered it. I remember at one point the librarian deleted it off all but one computer when they replaced the library computers with newer ones. the newer ones had croc 2 on it but nobody wanted to play it, everyone still wanted to play the original and there were fights caused over who got to use that one old computer to play it. In fact, that was my first and only ever gang fight, me and my group of friends waged all-out war with this other group of 8-year-olds lasted about 3 minutes till the librarian banned everyone involved from the library for a week. I think I even ended up biting someone's leg during the fight and I lost the USB stick and spent the next 2 hours running from class to class looking for it. One of the year 1 kids had picked it up. I didn't keep anything on it i just felt grown up having my own USB stick lol. Like a year after that, the librarian deleted all games off all computers, saddest day of my life, I only had a year left before high school though, where I promptly forgot all about it.
I played this game once when I was younger, and it is a very fun game! Whenever Croc says Kerspat on a spin attack, I laugh so hard, that’s a funny line. Also, that one underground music in 1-2 is godlike. I could listen to that music all day. Great video dude
It was hard, until I figured the hit and run pattern. At first I was in panic that thing runs at me. Tried hitting it- only got me hurt. Had no idea when else can I hit it. Then I figured when he wobbles I might sneak up from behind to whack it. Then it turned out easy. All bosses in this game have the same tactic - just avoid hits, until he screws up.
Theres a feeling that i can't describe, but its when you finally find that game that you've never seen in so many years but still very distinctly remember certain sounds from it, especially those fuzzy things going YAHEY.
I would love to see a reimagining of this. I played it as a kid too! It's still so good, imagine the potential it has as a platformer with todays tech, man!

I played this game but since my game was severely scratched I never actually got to go to the next level because either the screen turned white afterwards when going to the next level or it would never save because I didn't have a memory card at the time! But seeing this for the first time in like 19 years brings back so much nostalgia from my past!
One of the first codes i memorized was for this and will never forget it. LLLLDRRLLDRDLUR. Last level. Couldn't beat the game after who knows how long. As a kid, I had to find out.

I remember my mum of all people introducing me and my sister to this game sometime in the late 90’s to early 2000’s, and we just LOVED it! I’ll never forget feeling so proud when I finally beat the whole game! Really would love to see this game remastered or at the very least ported to one of the modern systems so I can sit down with my mum and play this with her again 🥰

This one and the first one are some of the earliest games I ever remember playing. They need a remaster. 1 and 2 together in a bundle. Activision could really do something awesome with this series.

I can very faintly remember playing it with and without music. There was definitely the ability to turn it on and off, Must have not been hard to do so because I was so young playing this. I’m guessing you left it off by accident
This game takes me back to my childhood, I used to play this game when I was like 15! One of my favorite games of all time, alongside Crash Bandicoot. There just seemed to be something quite magical about this game. From the moment I started playing the game I was hooked. Fantastic graphics, music and play ability it was very challenging with lots of puzzles to be solved which kept it interesting.
I remembered watching my dad try and beat this game when we could not. All the music and character voicing just brings back so many memories. Thank you for posting this ❤❤
My father wouldn't buy me this when I was 6. I dealt with the demo disc which displayed this game. Man, I should have asked my mom; she would have bought me this in an instant but I kept forgetting. Damn that deadbeat- I missed out on something awesome and nostalgic. :c
My dad bought it for me out of random because he wanted to get me into PC gaming when I was young. He found it at some pawn shop. It was a great game, but kind of creepy to me because I had no music in my game. I was too ignorant to check the options menu at the time and had a different experience with the game on mute.
I could never figure out how to get passed the first boss as a kid cuz I was dumb as hell. Thought about coming back to the series but didn't have the time. Thanks for doing all the work and finally putting an old game to rest for me.

Ps1 and psx are the exact same. It was the code name before release just like the gamecube being called "dolphin" it's the same thing!

Me and my friend would walk home from school and jump straight on the PlayStation to play this, we would often take turns as we weren’t very good at the game being so young haha. Thanks for the upload very nostalgic 👍

I played this game but since my game was severely scratched I never actually got to go to the next level because either the screen turned white afterwards when going to the next level or it would never save because I didn't have a memory card at the time! But seeing this for the first time in like 19 years brings back so much nostalgia from my past!
One of the first codes i memorized was for this and will never forget it. LLLLDRRLLDRDLUR. Last level. Couldn't beat the game after who knows how long. As a kid, I had to find out.

Croc was my first game PS ..... i was have 3 consoles ... lasers broke or somthing.... now i have next PS after many years .... but i borrow croc and other game to some colegues and they dont give them back.

Croc might get a remaster!!! I mean crash has been out for 21 years when it got its remaster. Croc has been out for 21 years, I think one day we will get a remaster of our favorite little crocodile 😃

I remember my mum of all people introducing me and my sister to this game sometime in the late 90’s to early 2000’s, and we just LOVED it! I’ll never forget feeling so proud when I finally beat the whole game! Really would love to see this game remastered or at the very least ported to one of the modern systems so I can sit down with my mum and play this with her again 🥰

Bless you! This is the first time I have actually seen the ending due to the fact my game was a hand me down an scratched so bad it would freeze the moment I walk through the door for the final boss. I wish I could find another copy that was in much better condition or even for a remaster it would be wicked! Loved playing this game as a kid!!

This one and the first one are some of the earliest games I ever remember playing. They need a remaster. 1 and 2 together in a bundle. Activision could really do something awesome with this series.
Depends who makes it. I’d love Toys for bob to do it, especially after how well they did with Spyro and Crash 4, they really know how to bring the magic out in old games

I can very faintly remember playing it with and without music. There was definitely the ability to turn it on and off, Must have not been hard to do so because I was so young playing this. I’m guessing you left it off by accident
This game takes me back to my childhood, I used to play this game when I was like 15! One of my favorite games of all time, alongside Crash Bandicoot. There just seemed to be something quite magical about this game. From the moment I started playing the game I was hooked. Fantastic graphics, music and play ability it was very challenging with lots of puzzles to be solved which kept it interesting.
I remembered watching my dad try and beat this game when we could not. All the music and character voicing just brings back so many memories. Thank you for posting this ❤❤

My father wouldn't buy me this when I was 6. I dealt with the demo disc which displayed this game. Man, I should have asked my mom; she would have bought me this in an instant but I kept forgetting. Damn that deadbeat- I missed out on something awesome and nostalgic. :c
My dad bought it for me out of random because he wanted to get me into PC gaming when I was young. He found it at some pawn shop. It was a great game, but kind of creepy to me because I had no music in my game. I was too ignorant to check the options menu at the time and had a different experience with the game on mute.
I could never figure out how to get passed the first boss as a kid cuz I was dumb as hell. Thought about coming back to the series but didn't have the time. Thanks for doing all the work and finally putting an old game to rest for me.

i know this comment is 4 years old but i was look for this comment because oh my god same. i remember turning off my playstation everytime i got to that boss because it scared me so much, and since i didn't save id play it over and over again, always turning off the console at that fight
