Wow... This game makes me truly miss the ignorant bliss we lived as children, and the wonder you got from playing video games such as these that made your imagination go into 4th gear. Man the good old days were the best.
Remembed how I played this game as a child. The game world seemed to be so big and dangerous... Besides as a kid I never managed to go futher than first grass world but few years ago I re-installed the game and finally completed it. And the game still rocks!
Man i liked it so much when i was a kid, now I watch it and it's like "meh" I seriously think that being a kid is like being on drugs everyday, you enjoy everything in an all different level
As a kid you are still discovering the world and then everything looks amazing, after 30 years of age or so you struggle all day to not die of boredom with everything...

I feel ya, didn't remember this game until UA-cam did for me, and man do i still love it. It really makes me sad because this franchise deserves to be a trilogy.
I loved this game as a kid, but I have to say that ending was pretty anticlimactic. You beat Baron Dante and then you go on a fetch quest that just ends suddenly. Still, good shit and thanks for posting this, you brought back some real memories.

The nostalgia is too much for me to handle. What a blast from the past! One of the first games along with Glover and the Original Rayman that started me off in gaming when I was around 4/5. Crazy.
It's sad to know that the sequel was canceled a long time ago... but it is what it is.. i don't think this game ever sold a lot. This game probably has some emotional and nostaligic value to who is watching this video... but this game was never a hit (no greatest hits jokes, please, lol), sad, it was a very nice game i would love to see croc 3.
Holy moly! I remember this game. One of the best of my childhood. My cousin, who lived with my grandparents had PS with this game. Every time I visited them i played this and it was so much fun. I remember that I couldn't pass through the winter zone because somehow I was scared of the level with frozen bomb. I didn't know what I was supposed to do in that level and the music was scary to me at that time haha. I installed this a few years later o my PC and finally finished. Awesome game. Ahh sweet times when there was no worries and responsibilities, only fun. I want it back :(
Omg I haven’t played this game since I was 5! I forgot that it existed! I think I played a demo version though because I could only play the first two levels, and everything was slightly different. I got the CD as a cereal box prize (dang how many of you remember there actually being cool stuff in cereal boxes lol?)
You have no idea the memories you have brought me. I had not seen this game in 20 years. I was 9 years old. I feel like it was another life. I don't feel like that was part of my life anymore.
I'm so so scared you fall, but you play smoothly, so i feel relieved inside. This game was the hardest and sh*t game I ever play 😅 i promise to myself to never see this game again, but now I watch you play it. I feel like I want to play it one more time, thanks for the video I love it.
@@DfactorLongplays I think there is some merit to that though. The first feels less complex and much easier at points and settles an adventure story well. The 2nd one really should be played after the first as it is harder and has loads more mechanics.
Seeing this gameplay put a smile on my face, I remembered having a Windows XP laptop that somehow has this demo version of game installed, played the shit out of it when I was 7, great nostalgia! Nice work!
This game was both awesome and terrifying for my 8 year old brain. Collecting the colored gems and unlocking new areas was such a great feeling, but the respawning enemies, boss fights, spoopy music, lava pits, and the PS1 draw distance gave me heaps of anxiety.
Anyone else just sitting there eating their bacon and eggs and suddenly remember one of the very first VGs you ever played? Lol, just me? Haha, good memories with Croc 2.
God I miss this game, I remembered it existed and wanted to see if someone else played it, thank you for uploading this. I was always sad that I could never finish it because my disc was scratched to it froze after beating Dante. I hope eventually they might consider remastering it or at least making it available as a retro download or something, I want to play it again
Oh my god i remember playing this game as a kid and never noticing how freaking identical the dialogue "box" style in this game was in comparison to Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie.
@Dfactor Longplays brotha you are a legend I watch you play through the First one and many No hits or anything and got over 100%. I take my hat off to you man. Keep up the good work these two games was classics , but Lord knows I struggled big time on both of them.
+Dfactor Longplays .very welcome between the two games the music was on point my favorite music from the first one was the last Ice level where you went against the ice beast but for some reason I can't stand the music once you got to the tower levels. This one my favorite music is once again the snow ice level With the trapped gobbos on it.
I felt I wasted my money and got ripped off for Croc 2 because I could never get anywhere or do anything past the beginning area. Just earning some weird credit doing stupid mini-games but couldn't progress through thr main story. Didn't get any adventure or bosses like the first Croc.
i agree croc 1 was better more simple not buy all this crap to progress in levels and all that i couldnt get far on this either it should of been just like the first one
Croc's difficulty wouldn't be the same as most of it came from the awful camera controls... Doubt it would sell like Crash & Spyro, considering the fanbase was miniscule from the beginning.

I guess I'm sorta glad that this video-game production company didn't make any more instalments of this game because it probably would've changed hands and become fucked up, kinda like how they did with the later Spyro and Crash instalments. (Also my favourites by the way.) I'll always hold this game close to my heart, because it's what my Father got for me when I was a young boy. (Sigh) these were the days when video-games weren't as belligerent and explicit as they are nowadays. I mean WOW, the types of sick and twisted games that are coming out today and being exposed to children? It's breathtaking...and not in a good way!
I wonder how the dialogue sounds worked. I’m pretty sure the Gobbos and Croc use the same sounds for the same words, each time. Maybe certain words, only?
I forgot that Twentieth Century Fox was behind Croc (via Fox Interactive). They missed such an opportunity to expand this series with more games and, possibly a movie. This could have easily been adapted to a 3-D film via Fox and Blue Sky: the same animation studio that did the Ice Age and Rio films. But, now that Disney owns Fox... 😑
