Very nice design. I like the levers for the doors a lot that’s a good design and the extra air wall for flames is brilliant I’ve never seen that. All around good design
Well now I’m confused , I m just starting out and was gonna build charcoal forge but after watching your video I just might try building one like your. That’s a very nice gas forge. Like those door’s really good. Thanks. 👍💯
Love your doors, and ribbon burner as I to am building. .Love your air curtain, good thinking Sir. I don't think your insulation and coating is going to protect from hot temps of over 2,000 degrees
Nice forge! Need to built something like that. And nice forging press. To many projects... But its always nice to make your own tools and machines. Keep up the good work. Bart
Hallo Karl, Really nice build ,how do you find economy on gas?also, do you reach welding temp for mild steel? Or even wrought iron? I must say that your hydraulic press is so cool! Cheers Christo
I'm building a ribbon burner, I looked at a lot of.builds. I think over all your set up is one of the best. Thanks for showing and teaching folks like me Sir thanks:
The people that have built their own inspired me to build my own instead of buying one thank you my welding not the best but it's holding up pretty good
I really like your design and there are some nice feaures! I'll think i'll have to copy some... Would you mind to share some more details on your Burner? I'm also building a forge but not quite happy with mine - i'll think its oversized... I'm using 2"/5cm pipes an the burner itself is a bit bigger (: would you tell me, wich diametre your using? And how powerful your blower is? And how high is your fuel-consumption for forge welding temperature? Thanks a lot...
I'm looking to build a similar volume forge using a similarly sized ribbon burner. What kind of blower did you use? I am having trouble finding an appropriate blower for a reasonable price
@@KarlMetalworks thanks for the response! I am quite fond of your build, it is well thought out. I found some people using blowers from kids bouncy houses and I think I'll go that route, I like your idea for the air curtain, and will use that idea on my forge
Gee I like that forge well done, so the ribbon burner is just a hard fire brick that you drilled out and encased it in a steel box, do you think the brick wil stand up to all the heat pretty well. Time will tell I suppose.?
Thanks. I think the brick will be ok. People usually make ribbon burners by casting, but I was to lazy to cast it and I wanted to try this easier method. Time will tell, but so far its just fine.

On large forced air natural gas burners for industrial curing ovens we regulate the fan's air inlet with an adjustable block off plate. The sound from the fan mat increase slightly as the inlet is reduced and I've heard many times this has to be an increase in load but it's actually the fan's rpm increasing from having to do less work. This inlet air is used as one of the flame settings for performance and controlling the exhaust pollutants. I've always had to include an exhaust fan to outside the building and control its volume to keep the oven slightly negative to stop any exhaust from entering the building. Our doors are always sealed during the process so a different story but something to consider if you find you're blacking out too often. Or maybe you have one now and your fuzzy looking paint is because I've had too many fumzzzzzz Zzz Zzz Very interesting is the thought you've put into getting it to do what you want it to. Peace.
Very nice build, I am getting ready to build myself a ribbon burner forge and will be stealing some inspiration from yours for sure.... Only thing that I would say you missed is a gas solenoid valve as a safety shutoff if you lose the blower.
That is a very well built forge! I think I will make something similar one day!
Thanks, Let me know when you will be building it. I can give you some tips after I test this forge long-term.
Hi mate, yeah isn't it a great forge, never ever seen a fire brick being used for a ribbon burner, top Idea.
konstruksi yang bagus
terimakasih atas penjelasanya 👍🙏
Excelent forge build. Thanks for sharing.

Saw this before, and it is a great system to copy
I'm need smaller, but I'll try to copy the door system it great
Thanks

Fantastic design dude! I love your sliding doors.
Good job. Very nice. I will make it in the future
Im loving it. Can you share the design please
I really love this project. Big thanks for the inspiration
Realy interesting forge clean and you can move it next to work. Did you try to melt aluminum.
I'm looking to build a similar volume forge using a similarly sized ribbon burner. What kind of blower did you use? I am having trouble finding an appropriate blower for a reasonable price
Hi, i bought locally (Czech republic) some blower used for wood burning heaters. It has 75 W, and about 255m3/h.

That's gotta be one of the most ingenious designs I've ever seen for a gas forge. You've thought of everything!
Super! Another great video! )))

@@KarlMetalworks Yeah what a great Idea never seen a brick used before, would like to see more video's of you using the forge and how it's going.
I'm almost done with mine I made mine out of a brake drum
Well done. Rich with practical features and could be easily scaled up in size. What is the tempter rating on the fire brick for the ribbon burner?
Thanks, I think the bricks are good up to 1300 celsius. But most of the time, the burner brick is cooled down by the air/fuel mixture.
How did you join the firebrick burner part to the steel part of the ribbon burner??
there are some metal pins drilled from the sides into the fire brick.
@@KarlMetalworks ok top Idea for a ribbon burner.
@@lenblacksmith8559 thanks, its much easier than casting the burner.
KarlMetalworks yeah that’s what I was thinking.
You are a designer! Perfect

Nice build - Well done - Thank You for sharing!!!
Excellent build. I love ribbon burners.
Do you have a parts list on this?
Sorry I don't. When I create, I use no plans or drawings. I take material from my leftovers pile and weld it together like crazy :)
great design
