- This is the 9th installment of a series restoring a 1974 Corvette Stingray. Found in a barn in rural Pennsylvania, this "Shark" generation C3 has found a new home....APEX DETAIL! The third generation Corvette, patterned after the Mako Shark II concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and was in production until 1982. C3 coupes featured the first use of T-top removable roof panels. It introduced monikers that were later revived, such as LT-1, ZR-1, Z07 and Collector Edition. In 1978, the Corvette's 25th anniversary was celebrated with a two-tone Silver Anniversary Edition and an Indy Pace Car replica edition of the C3. This was also the first time that a Corvette was used as a Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500

I’m liking this series. That Vet is going to be beautiful when it’s done.
"Perfect? No, not even close."
I love it
I personally know what gm paint looked like in the 70s and you've made this paint look 20 times better than new. Good job! It looks amazing.
Excellent job ✊The car is coming together. You have made a significant difference 💎
Your videos inspire confidence for sure. Your work is awesome and love the no BS reviews.
This series is so nice!! Love the car and your work!!!
As always Master Yoda what a lesson to all. Thank you
Unbelievable. You make this look so easy.
Great video. I've been learning a lot since I subscribed. I really want working on and learning wet sanding. Keep it up.
Love the look of the old Vet’s but they road like a wheel barrow LOL .... Your doing an awesome job on it ... keep it up!
That's better than some weekend show cars, so it'll be perfect for a daily driver that doesn't need to be the absolute best that you could make it.
Love your car and all of the videos on this series! it's amazing how much you have changed this beauty! keep it up:)
This is going to be a great project to follow through completion.
Man I am enjoying these. Looks amazing already and it’s only half done.
Outstanding work ethic and it shows!!
Nice work. She's a beauty.
WOW!!! to the untrained eye, like me, I would say its perfect. I can't wait to see the final results, awesome looking.
Looks perfect to me. Great job!
Brian, Bravo!
amazing job and video.hope u keep her.b well good friend
Brian, you truly are a magician of paint correction
Wonderful transformation on that paint. I high school (circa 1970) my best friend had a red '63 split window we ran around in. That red on a corvette brings back some great memories! Thank you for allowing us to follow your work on this great barn find!
Looking great from here!
Very Nice, I think you inspired my son to get off his a** and start playing with the aesthetic of his 74 Nova. lol
Not even close .... looks awesome to me Brian 😎😎😎
Love the overhead view
Brian that car is looking great!
Wanna know what I think Brian!?
I’m crazy jealous and green with envy haha! Love this car and one of my dream cars. Really glad you’ll be using this as a daily, I think it’s important for all generations, but most importantly the 20 and under crowd to see amazing vehicles with personality and classic style. Such beautiful elegant lines and not some gaudy overly styled beyond aggressive stuff automakers put out now.
DAM Clean Detailing many gorgeous lines and curves on this one... cheers!
Wow!!!
That paint is really Poppin !!!
Yep I’ll be a good fun car everyday to drive. Always keep up the good work.
Hang in there everything will be OK. 🇺🇸👍
AWESOME SAUCE BRIAN 👍🤓🇺🇸
A Diamond in the Rough Sir
I must learn wet sanding this is beautiful
Incredible work!👍
as always you killed this car!!!!!!!!!!!! that paint looks freaking amazing
That is some really nice results. It is impressive to see your work. The way you show and explain is just so educational for an amateur like me. Thanks for taking us along on this ride. Stay safe.
I think you are going to have a lot of fun driving this car around when you are done. It's really starting to look sharp. 👍✌️🇺🇸
Great job, 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Single stage looks so much better than cc to my eyes 👀
Looking Great
Looks awesome
Looks great so far, can't wait to see the finish!
Hi Brian, I've been watching your videos for a long time now and love your content. I've been detailing and doing body work at a classic car restoration garage for the last 15 years and last year opened up my own small detailing business in central MA. My father is a huge Corvette fan and he and I have been going to Corvettes at Carlisle since I was little in the early 90s. Granted I have lots of experience wet sanding and polishing two stage paint (typically at the shop I work at we do full restoration so we strip the old paint and lay down PPG) I don't have much experience with single stage. My father has a '55 Chevy 210 coupe with single stage that looks like it was resprayed in the 80s. We used a paint gauge and there's only about 2 mils of paint around the car. The paint dulls pretty fast. We are afraid of wet sanding since there isn't much to work with. I always suggest we do a light polish and apply an acrylic glaze to hydrate the lacquer and lock it in. Do you have any other suggestions what we could do?
Looks perfect to me
Looks great
Brian, great video once again. I love it when someone takes an old classic like this and restores it. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
Incredible turn around!
D***, that's looking good! Going to be a gorgeous ride when it's done!
Looking good Brian! I'm looking forward to the next video!
Really enjoying the series ,
Also the car is sweet too!
This is fun yep😎
I think this is gonna be one kick ass work car🤘🏻
Great job amazing results
Another great video Brian. Learning a lot and ready to take on some of my projects I've put off on 2 of personal vehicles. 74' is looking really good...gonna be a great daily driver for you.
Beautiful
Looks awesome so far!
Another great video Brian. Why do ALL of your cars not have stone chips. The paint on every single vehicle has only scratches and swirls. Super job!
Looks awesome I wish I live near you so I’ll be a repeating customer
Coming along nicely. :)
Superb.
Awesome Daily Driver
loving these Corvette's! Well, there is no corvette I don't like so far, although I have my favorites. paint looks great again, not perfect, but great :)
Looks a treat Brian. Reminds me of the days when paints needed feeding with Megs #7
Love it! UDAMAN.!
Perfect? You are kidding right? Looks better than it did when they laid down that paint at the fack-tree! Can’t wait to see what more you’ll do to it! I need to find a buffer that will help me lay down some wax, I have two bad shoulders and can’t wax like I used too, any suggestions?
hope u are well my friend.....are u open for bsinesss?? looks like a vette museum with the black in the background. awesome vid and really enjoying the journey watching the artist transform the canvas!!!!...I cant wait to see which hat/cap u wear on your first drive???...lol...u hinted on what the lsp/coating is going to be - a new one never showcased....I will send u an email with my guess....I love apex detail...and to all...BE SAFE AND WELL -PROTECT YOURSELF AND LOVED ONES
Brian, After re-watching some videos I purchased LVR 404 Helios for a white A5 and a 2001 Speedway white C5. I bought LVR 403 for a black Q5. What do I use on a 2003 C5 Anniversary Red? I want to use the right product if I'm going to go through all the steps to get the 2003 ready for polishing. Thanks for all the shows and I hope your business is not suffering too much.
Nice DD! :-)
Looks great. I do not remember. Was this covered all that time? I always wondered about those fake grates. Why?
Very nice Brian! What other acrylic-resin polishing glaze products are comparable to LVR 404?
Cool car and great work Brian! Did you say the LVR-404 with acrylic can be a base layer for a coating after it cures?
What is it your not happy about Bri the paint look super to me . Has the car got single paint all over .loving your videos something to look forward to in these unprecedented times .
Wow!
From Haze to Gloss !!!!!!! I Wonder what was the idea behind those fake air vents grill...?????? Coming Along Pretty Good Boss~!
I would love to see a review of Xtreme solutions LVR 357
Nice
Hey Brian awesome work. Can you tell what you mean when you say its not perfect? Coz on video it looks 10/10. I get confused by that everytime
Brian. Man when do have time to do jobs that pay you? Awesome job.
George Mattar I make time!😁👍
Hey Brian. I love your videos and the C3 is looking great! Question for you though. I see you using LVR404 on the red single stage on the C4, but I believe I saw you use LVR403 in your "Combo better look than a ceramic coating" video on a red Toyota clear coat. I have a 2017 F150 with white gold pearl (code GN) that only needs a good polishing. It's kind of champagne-like. Which LVR product would be best for it? I am a DIY detailer...
Another amazing video as always Brian! How many uses can a person get from one of the Trizact sanding disks on a polisher? Is it one and done?
Hey Brian, I noticed you didn’t use a interface pad sanding, was this only because it’s a flat area?
Could you please send me which microfiber cutting pads and microfiber polishing pads to use for paint correction? I would greatly appreciate it a lot. I look up to you and I love your videos. Thank you very much!
The cutting pad looks like Buff and Shine - Uro Microfiber
What do you do with the fiberglass parts to make them shine?
Hey Brian. Just have one question for you. Generally speaking, do you consider Hyundai cars clear coats difficult to correct or easy?
I like the "General Lee" style wheels, but in this case, Mille Miglia with some rally wheels would really be sweet.
What would be your speed setting on your DA
Thanks
Shiny 👀😎
Brian, another great video. Quick question with Xtreme solutions glaze should a person wait 48 for it to cure before using a coating or sealant?
Yes
Hank's Detailing thanks very much
That would be best.
You had said it is one stage red paint. All of the sanding residue looked like clear coat being removed ie no red. Also after buffing, looks like base clear finish and frankly too good to be GM original
Joel Palmer it is not BC CC. I will show the pad as we sand deeper. That said .. something to look out for. Back in the day, before BC/CC.. hotrodders would clear single stage enamel.
Oh riding in way too much style Brian. How many garages do you have to keep all of your cars at home?
Hi Brian,
Could you give Xkote a try? They are advertising market leading wipe on clear coat technology and their results look exceptional.
Could you maybe give 'em a try against Clear coat restorer?
That paint doesn’t look like single stage paint. Especially since the wet sand residue isn’t red.
Elias Barajas isn’t deep red until the oxidation , bleached, dead paint is completely removed
✌❤
looking like glass
