For a new detailer i would recommend to use a long throw da as opposed to a rotary buffer as rotary takes lots of skill to get the best results. For the 3D most all in ones are pad dependant so for your heavier cut needs use a heavier cutting pad switch it out and with the same polish will get more out. I really like to see detailing videos from you guys as its a big part of the automotive hobby that everyone can enjoy and take pride in their vehicles regardless of what they have
Great that you did this, bro. I owned a car wash and detailing center here in the Philippines and I’ve been wanting to see you buff your mx5’s paint since you started this series. Lol

So my neighbor has been a mechanic for 40 plus years and has taught me a lot of helpful tricks, he showed me that linch seed oil from any like hardware store like ace hardware or home depot or lowes will have it. You boil the oil and use a microfiber rag and lather it on the paint and you can also go ahead and buff it. The oil will revive the paint like it was from factory. I used it on my 2001 jeep cherokee sport and the forest green metallic looks amazing
You could get pretty much the same results with any oil filled polish. Many like to use Meguiars m07 which is pretty cheap and sold at any auto parts store. It won't do much for scratches though
Just as a warning to anyone who does this, store your rags in water after doing this. Linseed oil can self-ignite when it dries out, plenty of garages and home workshops have been burned to the ground by linseed rags. Oh, and this won't work on cars from the last 5-10 years, as most manufacturers have switched from oil-based to water-based paints.
waxing is the only time where you DONT use a circular motion. if something does get caught in the applicator, its way easier to see a circular scratch than a straight line. the point of using circular motions is to attack scratches from all angles.... with polish.

Something i do a little different in my 3 stage correction is i substitute the dedicated polish for a cut/gaze/wax all in one, specifically auto finesse tripple (carnauba based). Its sort of a transitional step, the cut and glaze helps remove and fill any microscratches i couldn't quite get with the dedicated compound along with most other minor imperfections, then the wax just sets a base layer down, for my dedicated wax, its like doing a double wax but without the extra work, such a time saver. Tripple specifically has the added bonus of not leaving any chalky residue and being plastic trim friendly, so one less thing to worry about.

So, well done to you guys and I’m looking forward to future episodes! I wish you all the best!
Oh man, I really hope you guys cleaned off your foam pads with compressed air every now and then. It just becomes a spinning piece of sandpaper with all that paint debris
Yes. I'd say adjust to panel severity, per square foot or less depending on how bad the paint is.
probably just swapped out pads every time
Lmao, Zach even sprays water like a hair dresser. Smh perpetuating Miata stereotypes.
6:50 I see your silvia in the back.
Wth is it sitting on
Harbor freight jack stands. Lol
I love how one of the toothpast clips you found on UA-cam was someone using the Scotchbright side of a sponge. Nothing like putting more scrates in your car.
I wouldn’t use a rotary polisher to finish out work and spraying water on the paned will actually make it harder to remove
5:29 WHAT?
Dear Papa Donut, do you think the toothpaste method would remove the dents out of my car?
5 minute crafts Says so
If you put the toothpaste on the head of the hammer and bang out the dent, yes.
The car when it realized that he will correct its paint with toothpaste: **Chuckles** I am in danger
@Ohana Ross-Roberts sometimes I am [The Fool] but my English here is correct
One of the best series of one of the best car UA-cam account ever Thanks zach💯
I'm going to remember Donut's Covid material forever, it has been by far some of the most useful and memorable. Thanks, Zach!
4:27 doesn´t show result with the flashlight in the after shot
When you learn more from donut media in a few minutes then 7 hours of school
**Thinks about using the compound polish to replace toothpaste for my teeth**
That 3d compound has cut and glass same as the expensive one it works well I use it professionally and would use it over Maguires
Just bought a NB so love this show. Greetings from Canada. Thanks Zach!
