My mom used a quart of water, bring to boil . Mix 1 cup sugar 2 heaping tablespoons of corn starch and 3 tablespoons Hershey cocoa. Stir slowly in the boiling water.cook till slightly thick.

I had a friend when I was a young girl and I stayed the night with her and her grandmother made chocolate gravy the only time ever had and I thought that it was so good. Happy Birthday sweetie love watching you all 🎈🎈🌸🌼🌼🐓🐓
My mother's recipe is different...made with shortening. Flour (just like you would make gravy) add milk, cocoa (as much as you prefer )and lots of sugar plus little salt. Then cook as if regular gravy. to dedired consistency. Serve over bits of biscuit. Absolutely drlicious!!!

I had this years ago at a friend's aunties house. I had never had it and when she makes food she makes and loads the plate ( did not know this as it was a first time meeting) We went for a big huge farmhouse breakfast on her farm and she took 2 huge bisquits and drowned it with that gravy......it was good and I was never taught to not eat food or waste...however. Chocolate gravy
1 cup Sugar

This is our recipe too. We use unsweetened Bakers chocolate sometimes. And we put lumps of butter on the hot gravy.

Yummy that looks so delicious. I remember as a child my Mawmaw making this every so often for breakfast and boy was it delicious. She always was cooking and talking about the lord .
