this man is an underrated GOAT, tbh Rival Swords made my childhood and am researching now since i had no knowledge of in game universe etc, thanks brother
All new content in Rival Swords is cut levels from T2T, they clarify the early plot and reveal the ent. But I still can't understand why the prince destroyed the temples of Zurvan... By the way, there is also a theory that teleportation at the gate is not a one-time technique and we should have received all our strength this way. As for the water, initially it was not Farah who helped us, but Anahita, the goddess of water (Her role was given to Razia in TFS) As for Zurvan's immortality, let's not forget that initially the Vizier became Zurvan only in the final, also do not forget that the Vizier is just a vessel for Zurvan, he does not have full powers, just remember TFS where Malik turns into Ratash and you will understand what I mean... By the way, a sandstorm was also pulled out of the early T2T I would not bet on the E3 build because it is just a staged build that barely revived and debugged Montreal after Casablanca lasted 2 years of development and did nothing There are two doors in the arena that have corridors, the door to the right of the prince had an early entrance to the arena There was indeed a battle with the dark prince in the mental world, it was tested in the arena where we killed Dahaka, but it was cut out for unknown reasons
My biggest disappointments with T2T are: Farah not being voiced by Joanna Wasick, the Prince’s somewhat strange character design (just an older SoT Prince rather than a recovering WW Prince), the inability to switch freely between Dark/Prince (which could have had such an interesting effect on branching endings), and of course, turning down MEDIC for the Dark Prince’s role! Seriously, Downes would have been perfect for that.
I have a feeling if POP T2T was made in more modern times they would include something like a bar which runs out and charges in which you can use Dark Prince.
@@ThePeaceCatDefinitely (memory constraints on the PS2 were a major reason as to why players couldn’t freely switch between the two forms). If Ubisoft ever remakes Two Thrones, I have they can iron out the gameplay kinks it has to produce a more satisfactory ending to the Prince’s tale.
You forgot to mention how they change the auto stealth kill (which let's you double kill an enemy if they're close enough ) that feature was cool, it's too bad ubisoft change it.
@@ThePeaceCatTwo Thrones has a “good ending” in that the Prince finally understands that he can’t undo all of his mistakes. That’s part of growing up, but I feel like the developers depended too much on SoT’s beloved status among the PoP fanbase to conclude the series. What I’d change in a remake is allowing the player the opportunity to influence the Prince’s fate depending on how often they resort to his dark alter ego. Use him too much, the Prince becomes immortal and ruler of a kingdom and army hellbent on domination: Balance it out, and the Prince banishes the Dark Prince from his mind, but he is now manifested in physical form and lies in wait for a chance to strike later (could be an idea for another sequel, or not, doesn’t really matter). Use him sparingly, and the Prince gets the best ending. This time, it should end in an original monologue that the Prince delivers, and while it could harken back to SoT, I think it’d be much better if it goes full-circle in the manner of the game’s beginning: showing his sand army what lies ahead to conquer, looking over his damaged but still alive kingdom, or inviting Farah to see Babylon’s rapid recovery and strengthening. This emulates his showing Kaileena what Babylon looked like while at sea, while being more conclusive and independent of SoT.
Correction: Friendly Fire DOES exist in Warrior Within, Shadow enemy can kill The Assassin if she is yellow, and enemies can hit each other. Even in SoT, the soldier enemy can sweep his sword and other enemies will fall.
I really like your work, about many facts that I did not know until now, also thank you for still leading the content on a rather forgotten but at the same time hiding a lot of secrets game.
20:20 The line does play in pc version but the volume of dark prince's voice is so low it's hard to hear. Similarly sometimes the archer's too have voicelines like "call the reinforcements" when they are alerted but very hard to hear. One more fact: prince's voice is unfiltered in that one voiceline before 1st chariot race "that chariot should bring us home".
19:48 Robin LaFortune is in the credits as just a "Programmer" so it's nice to hear specifically what he primarily programmed. Also, the order in which the people are read out is name and then role. For example, the lead sound designer was Alice Bernier and not Ann-Elise Stidham like the subtitles on this video reads. Speaking of Ann-Elise Stidham, she is listed as "Lead audio designer dialog" in the credits.
it's really enjoyable and informative video! I didn't know that special /secret weapons also existed in POP T2T, I only knew about them in warrior within, I've played on pc and on psp emulator on android and it's good to know that I wasn't alone getting secret levels through sand portals! I got to know many new things today! Great video!❣
i love the prince's design in this one.... so edgy, kinda ironic and hurt with the chain is tormenting his left arm while also keeping the curse at bay. also the curse is following his tattoo. :D
Thanks for the vid! Very weird, i have the ps2 version of the game and i didnt have such a strong echo when the vizier spoke about the discovery of the dagger
Great content! My favourite content creator for Prince Of Persia! And Two Thrones is my favourite in the trilogy. So feels good to see the content. However, there are a few things I would like to share. After you solve the Sharaman's puzzle, the game takes away your secondary weapon for the chariot race & the twins boss battle. But this is applicable to all versions EXCEPT for the PS2 version. So if you picked up the Sand Gate Guard's sword, you can have infinite rewinds for the race as well as the boss battle. However, slow-mo is completely useless for the twins boss battle. The funny thing is, in the Japanese PS2 release, no such luck. Maybe because it was released a year later so followed the trend of later releases of other platforms. While using sand powers, the timer running out is indicated by red. However, the bar depletes when you use it for rewind. For the rewind, same, but the visual is not clear at all. That is, if you're playing on the PC or the XBox version. The PS2 & GC versions follow the same depleting bar gauge both for rewind & slow-mo. The funny thing is; Warrior Within was consistent across all platforms for all kinds of sand powers & the depleting bar was crystal clear. I hope someone mods it for the PC version coz it sucks not being able to tell how much slow-mo is left in the bar. Your info about special properties of secondary weapons was a revelation for me. Can you do the same for Two Thrones? I saw the Two Thrones wiki claiming some secondary weapon being unbreakable ... In the hardest section of the Two Thrones which is the Ancestor's Well if I remember it correctly the name of the save point & is the final playable Dark Prince sectin, somewhere between the first two minutes of their banter, the Dark Prince barks on the Prince 'You self-righteous bastard!'. But the interesting thing is; his curse is cut short & you can only make out the b of bastard. My question to you is, was the curse cut short intentionally or was it censorship ??? In the end, thank you for everything. The Sands of Trilogy is a timeless masterpiece in the history of video games! At least for me !!!
I love this kind of content. I remembered seeing all the differences by myself of psp versions. I played t2t about 20 times on different platforms, I had an obsession. I was searching for an alternative ending like ww. Keep up the good job!
It's ironic that Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner disliked Warrior Within when it's arguably the most popular game of the Sands of Time trilogy. I do kinda agree with him tho. As a kid, WW was like the coolest shit ever but now that I'm older I appreciate Sands of Time, The Two Thrones and other POP games so much more.
Well he is right to a good point, WW is just not a prince of persia game. I think the combat is fantastic but story wise it does fall on its face a bit.

Btw. You didn't included here one thing about This game - From some Very Old Game Magazine [a polish one, called "CD-Action", i'm not even sure if it is Archived, probably not] that released before this game came out, we can learn that it was supposed to be a Veery Different game. Article about it said: -That it was supposed to have A open World, with Open Locations and not "one way through" like in the release, they would have been similar to The Warrior Within locations, but better, even with some metroidvania elements where with the power of the sands the player would be able to access Locations he wasn't able to access before; -That it would also be a somewhat Stealth oriented game [but it would still have the Action gameplay from previous games]; -That we would be able to Plan out our Kills [probably with Bosses], even with getting to know how Enemies are patrolling and stuff [Somewhat simillar to Chaos Theory/AC]; -That we would be able to make some Diversion, just to get attention of so-called "Guards" [enemies]; -That it wouldn't be a Linear game [it could have different endings, because there would be a choice to make by the player, and You probably already know where it would have been placed, but instead in the Release the Prince makes it himself]; -We would have been able to set up Traps and Ambushes for our enemies; -If it remember correctly, the Dark Prince would have been the Vizier [last cutscene from Warrior Within somewhat proves it] -Probably the stealth kills (and clothing of the Prince in the beginning of the game, which reminds me of the Assasins uniform in the first AC game) are the Only leftovers from that Design, which at least a little bit prove this whole thing. And now, with that said, What other game from Ubisoft does this "Design" remind you of? If the Ubisoft wouldn't thought about making "Assasin's Creed", we would have a similar gameplay of the first AC game in this PoP, which for the last game in the trilogy, would be... Somewhat unique. But then, we wouldn't get the AC that we gotten in the first place, in it's form. Source: a Polish Let's Play from 2015 from a guy named "Drakei" [would post link here, but i worry about yt deleting this comment because of a link]. I recommend to listen to his Playthrough if you know Polish, or to watch it if you somehow force AutoTranslated Subtitles [they're turned off in his videos]. And also - The PS3 HD version of this game, had the "Tattoo" aka. The Corruption broken - It wouldn't progress, and in the Dark Prince form, his 'Corruption" wouldn't glow at all, he was just... Black. Also the Glowing Eyes of Dark Prince weren't glowing.
First thanks to everyone that took the time to find and add into the video all this info, its sad to see that almost no gaming company is making great story games like in the past. As for me i was only interested from when i was young in PC so all this old but golden games i played on PC so i never knew about exclusive stuff added on other platforms. Thanks for all the info and i hope we will see in the future more good story games(The remake of POP 1 looks like its dead so i don't heave any hopes for it anymore) not that i trust ubisoft anymore after they ruined the original AC franchise and turn it into god knows what's now.
PLEASE READ THIS ::: You know what, I personally know a secret in this game and I've searched about it online and I haven't come across anyone mentioning or talking about it anywhere.. There is a water level in this game where you have to use some pulley thing to manage the water falls and create a blockage of some sorts so that you can wall run and stuffs. My point is , I was just having fun in that chapter messing around by doing wall bouncing (keeping on bouncing between walls to get to higher level ) and trust me I glitched into another level entirely skipping the water level and I've tried it in PC twice, Ps2 and psp (also ppsspp) once and it worked every where!!!! I don't know the location but it is somewhere after that big jawless dude whom you gotta defeat in that stadium and sometime after that (specially after a horse riding section)

"I'm glad they're returning to a game for kids as well as adults". And yet T2T is M rated (17+) Don't get me wrong. I love and respect Mr. Mechner, just like probably everyone else here. But I honestly wish he ACTUALLY PLAYED both WW and T2T to shape his opinion on these games
@@poptuts Yeah, probably. If looking for a short and simple answer, instead of a couple of hours context explanation, I'd pick WW as the best one too. This game is just so easy to love. Melancholic, yet alluring dark fantasy setting, deep combat system, entertaining acrobatic puzzles, smartly crafted story and a banger soundtrack. Backtracking aside, the semi-open world structure of WW (+ secrets/collectibles), provides the highest replayability appeal in the trilogy. I love TSOT for its level design and art direction. For the fluffiest and the most beautifully looking palm trees I've ever seen in a video game up to this day. For the great soundtrack and a solid, perfectly passed story. However, the combat system can be a little frustrating, especially if you're playing the series backwards, like I did. And, if I'm being super honest, I'm not the world's biggest fan of Farah. And T2T man... I looooove this game. Played it so freaking much. Especially the beginning parts, before the Arena. There was a time, when I could, you know, just close my eyes and play the game. Because all level layouts and enemies were so familiar. Unfortunately even as a kid, it was really difficult not to notice, that gameplay is undercooked, the world is empty and the story is lacking, to say the least. So here is a catch (after less than a couple of hours, but still a quite long context explanation). The VERY BEST Prince of Persia game (in my humble opinion, of course). The one, that perfectly blends the strongest elements of both TSOT and WW, was never released due to technical limitations and Ubisoft's upper management stupid decision making. Damn. And what a bummer. Thank you so much for your work, my friend! For keeping the flames on for this glorious video game series! Really can't wait to see the next video about KB!
@@poptuts I think it's between SoT and T2T for the best one honestly. WW as a story doesn't really make sense to me on why the things happen the way they do but it does offer the most gameplay variety though not the biggest fan of the open world thing. I feel like you got back and forth too much
"On the main menu you can hear the Arabic music." Yes, things like this in a Prince of "Persia" game used to upset all the Persian players. Until they finally actually used Persian dialogues in the forgotten sands, but decided not to have native persian speakers voice act them...yeah, it sounded terrible. I'm still upset.
But I've heard many of these voice lines from 4:20 onward while playing on the PC. Perhaps it's some kind of bug that's preventing them for some people, or maybe a regional difference? 20:20 you also list that one as not existing in PC, but it's there, and it's very very quiet and usually there's loud music playing over it. I also believe it's filtered.
Some programming genius should really port the PSP levels back into the PS2. By the way, the PS2 was the target platform with SOT, and that remained the same for the next 2 games (after PS2 was cemented as a success, beating all the competition). That is why the PS2 """port""" had the Vizier echo and other versions did not.

-That it would also be a somewhat Stealth oriented game [but it would still have the Action gameplay from previous games];
-That we would be able to Plan out our Kills [probably with Bosses], even with getting to know how Enemies are patrolling and stuff [Somewhat simillar to Chaos Theory/AC];
-That we would be able to make some Diversion, just to get attention of so-called "Guards" [enemies];
-That it wouldn't be a Linear game [it could have different endings, because there would be a choice to make by the player, and You probably already know where it would have been placed, but instead in the Release the Prince makes it himself];
-We would have been able to set up Traps and Ambushes for our enemies;
-If it remember correctly, the Dark Prince would have been the Vizier [last cutscene from Warrior Within somewhat proves it]
-Probably the stealth kills (and clothing of the Prince in the beginning of the game, which reminds me of the Assasins uniform in the first AC game) are the Only leftovers from that Design, which at least a little bit prove this whole thing.
9:39-9:52 this picture caught me 💀by 🤣 Perfect meme source!
Love your channel, everything about it
I love this channel so much.
oh, you're here too :p
We need a remake of the trilogy 🙌🏻
PLEASE READ THIS :::
You know what, I personally know a secret in this game and I've searched about it online and I haven't come across anyone mentioning or talking about it anywhere..
Strange thing about friendly fire - i played WW many times and there were situations where enemies are able to hurt and kill each other
@@hyde8118 they are able to hit each other but they will never kill. Their attacks do 0 damage to each other
@@poptuts Maybe i'm hallucinating.. I totally remember that they were killing each other when were nearly dead by me, especially ones that throwing knives
5:15 glad i moved to pcsx2, so i can hear those lines
bro I'm fan of babylon, i wish i could have seen 3D MODEL of the map. thank you so much for uploading, Faav series in trilogy.
I miss the days when Ubisoft still made good games, POP was my childhood.
Arrows is in the back of klompa from fara, she mentioned him in some dialog
Still cant believe theres POP content in 2024 this guy is a brother in christ
@@sandeepwilkhu6216 thanks bro. You the best
Played this game do much as a kid
Uhh, I think they forgot to remind Yuri Lowenthal to put on an accent when he came back to record the bonus level dialogue.
12:55 Warrior Within on Xbox has widescreen support
Great video before bed
Mighty Prince ftw
"I'm glad they're returning to a game for kids as well as adults".
And yet T2T is M rated (17+)
Don't get me wrong. I love and respect Mr. Mechner, just like probably everyone else here. But I honestly wish he ACTUALLY PLAYED both WW and T2T to shape his opinion on these games
Different taste I guess. Everyone I know loves WW and considers it the best.
I feel like you got back and forth too much
They should have bought back. The water sword.
Pop is fovrated game ever 🎉🎉🎉
Nice video enjoyed to watch
"On the main menu you can hear the Arabic music." Yes, things like this in a Prince of "Persia" game used to upset all the Persian players. Until they finally actually used Persian dialogues in the forgotten sands, but decided not to have native persian speakers voice act them...yeah, it sounded terrible. I'm still upset.
19:30 I've activated this so many times, first time I ever did it I thought I was being hacked
MOREEE......!!!! GIVE ME MORE POP VIDEOS!!!
I shall deliver
But I've heard many of these voice lines from 4:20 onward while playing on the PC. Perhaps it's some kind of bug that's preventing them for some people, or maybe a regional difference?
20:20 you also list that one as not existing in PC, but it's there, and it's very very quiet and usually there's loud music playing over it. I also believe it's filtered.
Pop content in 2024?! Hell yeah
As soon as I heard that you get the fish gutter instead of the sand dagger, my brain went "princePrimaryWeapon +=1" 🤣
me too
It feels like the warrior within and two thrones are from very different timelines which they kinda are
thank you
6:21 now i understand how chainsaw man was been created, its just a prince of persia reference
If they're really remaking this stuff they should extend everything even in SOT WW T2T
Brilliant content
20:28 it does exist on PC you just barely hear it because of st playing in the background cause of the green monsters

Love your kids, will you make cut content of the two thrones? And about kindred blades? If the rumors of it plot was true and its mechanics
Awesome😍😍😍
