Thanks for that beautiful shot featuring a busy Novelty Island, Les, with 66564 in the background! What a varied and interesting selection you have given us.
Thanks
Great stuff as usual, a nice variety of movements, these 37's still look the business, my Old man was a freight Locoman at Millerhill, thank you Les.
Thanks interesting. Glad you enjoyed
Nice mix there Les, lots of action.
Thanks
A Black 5 in the last video and 37s in this: superb!
Good to see ROG wanting no time in getting the ex-DRS locos back to work.
Got some good news today (Thurs 18th): Accurascale emailed me to say they had a couple of HNRC Orange livered 37s models in stock, so I bought one! Been wanting one since I missed out on them originally. It's an ex-Cardiff Canton loco too.
According to Green Signals those mail trains will be extinct before long. Oh sorry, just saw you mentioned it in the caption.
Perhaps when they replace the brakes on that 43 they'll give it a coat of NR yellow paint too?
Thanks - somehow doubt much will happen to the 43!
Great video Les. A nice variety
@@johntomkinson9781 thanks!
Epic Leslie. Thanks for that. Great stuff. All the best.
Thanks Tim!
Greetings to you, Les! That was a very cool looking 68 by DRS sans livery (or minimal gray and white). Obviously, I enjoyed seeing the classic, but doomed Royal Mail train with the PRIDE and TPEs- my faves. The Dalesman was a standout, of course, but I really enjoyed seeing so many different versions of 37s, 43s, and 66s. Nice variations.
@@ModelTrainOutsider it's a de-branded Chiltern Railways loco. Presumably DRS have used of it.
Lovely stuff Les, nice mix of old and new!
Many thanks!
Good variety there Les A nice long look at the 37's, unusual they held them there and not in 'A' line.
Thanks! The train was short enough for the centre roads and left A road as a longer loop should it be needed I guess.
@@LeslieGilpinRailways Could be yes Good thinking
great video Les some awesome captures there superb filming a great session loved it thanks for sharing ,take care a t b syd👍
Thanks!
Hooray 😅 - I've been captured in a Les Gilpin video 😂. (When the 37's were departing up to Yoker).
Fame at last eh? And you never appear in your own!
Hi Leslie, very enjoyable my friend
Thanks!
When these steam excursions visit Carlisle where do the passengers go and how long do they stay, great work
Thanks. They head into the city centre - plenty of shops and cafes and there's the Cathedral and castle to see.
Hi Leslie, thanks for another great video, lots of mix. You say the 325 mail sets won't be around in a couple of months, are they being replaced? or is the service been withdrawn totally? what will happen to the mail in the future? Regards Barry.
Thanks. Royal Mail announced last week that they are withdrawing the 325s by mid October. They of course own these units. They say their intention is to use the regular freight operators but not how.
@@LeslieGilpinRailways Thank you.
70817 !!!! Who else would you trust with the Chirk logs ???
any other Colas 70s!
When did Tangmere fail, heard last week it had failed a finess test meaning it was replaced for a charter it meant to be on.

Hi , is 802210 the unit with battery power added , hence coming from Heaton .
@@frananmar1 I had trouble finding a reference to the actual unit that has been converted. It's 802207
Thank you for that info Les , much appreciated.
Hi Leslie, what’s the plan for the withdrawn Royal Mail trains?
@@michaelchester8997 I'd like to know too!
Shame about losing the Royal Mail Trains later this year, hoping they get saved.
@@keitheglon it'll be interesting to see how they move the mail by rail as they are apparently going to use other operators trains
@@LeslieGilpinRailways - I wonder if that would be using the class 768 units which came from changing class 319 units. If it is then it would Ironic, as the class 325 units are based on Class 319 technology!
