I was born at the tail end of this decade (‘77), and I have an unlived nostalgia for that era I was born in. I’m currently visiting my 80 year old mom, watching these blocks from your channel and having a grand old time. Thanks for sharing these. 🙂
I had forgotten how much damn singing was in commercials then….it was ubiquitous. Now it seems really weird. Those jingles have stayed in my head for over 40 years so I guess they were effective.
question: this is a repeat of the SNL season 4 premiere with the Rolling Stones. what sketch preceded the Gilda Radner bumper at 19:48? (I have a feeling it wasn't "Network Battle of the Ts and As" from the original live broadcast Oct 7 1978...) (Thanks in advance)
Local WNBC voiceovers: 1:07 - Bill Rippe (Rock Concert promo) and Fred Facey at: 8:41 - Gloria Vanderbilt end tag 9:24 - Rock Concert promo 17:08 - Vanderbilt end tag 17:40 - Bob Hope in China promo
Go away Reagan, one of the worst presidents in American history, after trump. Another racist whose trickle down economics destroyed this country and allowed it to be ruled by billionaires. Don’t make me vomit, please. I watched it happen.
I wish I can go back to 1979!
😃Me too!

I was 12 in '79. It's amazing how many of these commercials I remember. Thanks for posting!

Seeing late 70s/Early 80s commercials in 60fps is cool
Love this era of commercials the most, as it seems like jeans commercials were dominant around this time going into the early 80s.
I was born two months after these commercials aired
this is priceless😊
always loved Heath bars, they are smaller than most candy bars because they are so rich …
"The Iceman" Jerry Butler
I wasn’t even alive yet lol.
5:15 Norman Rose tells us about mineral water. He also voiced those famous Juan Valdez coffee commercials.

@@MyNameIsUnavailable you don't honestly think that Jerry Butler has the same nickname as the Godfather of Soul, do you?
