      What’s crazier is paying out commission on a customer that doesn’t stick around for at least a year (and will probably want a refund because they were oversold on what the product does.)

    What do you use to track your compensation programs and incentives?

      Just spreadsheets, but there are specialized tools for tracking commissions which you probably need if you have a lot of sales reps

      I think it’s just the industry I’m in. Insurance sales, you start out with $25-30k/yr plus a couple hundred dollars commission per month for a couple years, then you leave. If you don’t leave, you go 100% commission, or you cough up 20-100k to start an agency/brokerage, or you leave the sales side. I’m hurting right now... trying to figure out which one of these I should do. None of them are particularly appealing, and none of them guarantee a positive career track.
