One comment I would make is it’s not unusual to have a decision maker/champion that isn’t the “buyer” check writer. So, navigating how they make decisions relative to that comes down to turning this person to be your champion and positioning your expectations around how their buyer operates that writes the check.

I will mention that automation and mobile analytics has drastically tempered the traditional sales process and cold calling specifically. The rep today must be able to fully anticipate and fulfill customer needs before contact. Organizations' that are using cold calling as a main play in the book to drive sales simply do not have a capable company.
