I’ve mentioned this before, but it is worth repeating. I appreciate how you show and not tell, how to do things. No constant asks for likes, subscriptions, visiting your Amazon store, etc. We have neighbors from Nepal who speak little or no English. I showed them your channel, and they got the biggest smiles on their faces as they didn’t have to listen, just watch. I am curious why you usually start seeds in cells or other containers the repot them in larger 2-3 inch pots before going into the actual growing containers. Is there a reason you couldn’t plant the seeds in the 3 inch container to start, thus eliminating a step? Thanks!
Love to hear it. Really appreciate your inspiring feedback💚. The sowing method is just my preference and showing what has been working best for me. By sowing in a trays, I can choose the strongest/healthiest seedlings to prick out, and also pricking out gives me the opportunity to add fertile soil to the seed mix to make it rich for the seedling growth. If you choose to start in plugs, which you sure can, I suggest to start feeding seedlings with diluted liquid fertilizer when they are 3-4 inch tall so they grow stronger. This is because seed starting mixes usually don't contain any nutrients. And I almost never start in rich soil to minimize the chances of "damping off" which is a fungal disease. I hope this helps and thank you very much for your comment! And please say hi to your Nepalese neighbors!👋
Most channels are talk talk. You are a pleasure to watch and learn from. Im going to try this variety in my hoop house over the winter. I have 1 from Home Depot about 12” tall that came with fruit but is still growing. So im excited to see how it does in the hoop house. I have this year’s peppers in it already doing nice. We got to 34 last night already. Foothills of Yucaipa Ca.
My sister and I have been growing tomatos outside for many years. After moving I decided to grow one in a screened in patio. While I had plenty of blooms I wasn't getting any tomatos. My sister said it was because they weren't being pollinated. I decided to check online for an answer. We never knew you had to shake the flowers to stimulate pollination. What a surprise ! Thanks to Toward Garden I now know I needed to shake the flowers 🤣.
Yes, most probably the flowers are not being pollinated. Plants grown outdoor have a better chance of pollination due to wind and any pollinators out there. But plants grown indoor (greenhouse or covered patio) need had pollination for a better fruit production. As you can see, it is very easy and don't take much time. Wishing you a great harvest and thank you so much for your comment!

From sowing to pricking out no fertilizer is used. The compost mixed with the seed mix at the time of pricking out will feed the seedlings. The only pollination I do is the one I showed in the video, just shaking the flowers. Hi I went through the comments first to see if my question was already there. I live in the Caribbean and my only knowledge of soil is the actual dirt in the ground that we dig up to plant in. Hi, Caribbean soil is usually sandy that provides great drainage and can be used for container gardening. However, you will need to add some sort of organic matter to make it fertile. Composted banana or any kitchen scraps are great addition. If available, aged wood chips or forest products would help too. With adding fertilizers, I think you will be able to grow decent vegetables. Happy gardening and thank you so much for your comment!

So glad you love the channel😊 you can use the same method for indeterminate variety however you will need to add cages or stakes to support the vines. My tomatoes are small and green and they have developed brown spots on the bottom and Im not sure about the right solution.
So glad that you love the videos. Thank you so much!😊 I think you already know that blossom end rot is due to lack of sufficient calcium in the soil. Usually you will notice them and it is easy to pick them. But if picking them is not enough, two of most effective and organic pesticides for worms and catrrpullars you can use are B.T. or (Bacillus Thuringiensis) and Spinosad. B.T. is a naturally occurring bacteria can be applied as a liquid or powder. Don't let your tomato's ripen on the vine!!! Pick them as soon as they "turn." The plant just want's to make "seed." Production slows when the plant accomplishes making "seed." Keep picking them and the plant keeps producing!!!

Is it too late to start from seeds and what month is good to start from seeds before transplanting them into pots
I depends on where you are and what is your garden zone. But spring is a good time to start tomatoes, so give it a try. Happy growing and thank you for your comment!

How do you stop hornworms from eating your leaves an maybe some of the tomatoes
Usually you will notice them and it is easy to pick them. But if picking them is not enough, two of most effective and organic pesticides for worms and catrrpullars you can use are B.T. or (Bacillus Thuringiensis) and Spinosad. B.T. is a naturally occurring bacteria can be applied as a liquid or powder. Check my amazon page for few brands I use: www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-3dd9a3b6/list/XLDNRZO26ESK?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d . Hope this helps and thank you for visiting.
@@TowardGarden Thank you so much
Don't let your tomato's ripen on the vine!!! Pick them as soon as they "turn." The plant just want's to make "seed." Production slows when the plant accomplishes making "seed." Keep picking them and the plant keeps producing!!!
Never heard of or experienced the seed issue. Will try to research it.
