Thank you so much for this video! "The Christmas Tree of Death" LOL I had all the codes, battery was drained, got a charge, drove around for 30 seconds and they were all gone!
Thanks for the video. Im currently fixing my sister’s 2012 civic and i just replace a few airbags and while checking for codes I left the ignition on and had all doors open. 20 minutes later I hear the car starting to beep and I saw that it was throwing all those codes. I tried to start the engine but the battery was dead. I left it charging for 6 hours and when Started the car I got the codes again. I cant drive it right now because im still waiting on the seatbelts to be fix. But thanks to you now I don’t have to worry about those codes.
I work on a civic si today to do a new intake system and had to readjust the battery to new location and once I hook everything back up all those lights came on. The only thing I didn't do was drive it. I will try that tomorrow and hopefully it works for me. Thank you so much
This is a perfect example of why You Tube is so Bad Ass. I thought I had to take it in to a shop for sure but sure enough after a quick drive everything went off. Thanks for your help
Thanks for the info. Definitely helped find what my issue was. I Had the same thing happen to me. Over time I knew my battery was getting ready to go as it would only last 2 minutes on ACC mode than just die out or not start when I would go and turn it on. All these lights turned on yesterday. I was tripping out on what it was and than I found this video changed my battery and all lights went away in like 10 seconds of driving
After changing your battery did the lights stay off? I had some green corrosion on the positive terminal and I cleaned the outside and it seemed to help for a little bit. Now the check vsa, handbrake , etc are all randomly coming back on but I notice that there’s no difference in the operation or feel of the car so it seems as if something is just tripping these warnings but the actual parts are still operating as normal
@@khimarironso8816 yes they all remained off after. I would test the battery with a voltmeter if you have access to one, to determine if the battery is bad or not. After sitting overnight, go out and test battery before starting. A good battery should read 12.5V or more with the car off after sitting overnight.
Omg so I recently bought a car and it’s cold here so my car was dead. After doing a jumpstart, all those sign came up and me who know nothing about car try to look it what how to solve the problem. I didn’t know know it was this easy to fix it. Thanks you!
Thanks so much for the video, had exact same problem today which disappeared once car was moving. It Is reassuring to know problem is linked to the battery .
Hi I have the same issue with my honda last night. It showed up while I was driving all the way to work but then while I was heading out and drove it again after 3 mins it all disappeared. My question is did you went to your car mechanic to have it fix? if you did how much was it?
Hi , I disconnected the battery terminal for a minute , then reconnected. Started car and After driving for 2 minutes all the lights disappeared . Have not had any repeat problems.
@DTrey FloatGoat have you checked the fluid level? Could be something that simple. If not I would trace wiring, I’ve seen someone have just the PS warning come on for a broken wire. Definitely most likely going to be something directly with the PS system. Check for fluid level, leaks, wiring, etc.
I have same problem on a 2013 civic. Battery went dead today cleaning interior with doors open. Charged battery, and Merry Christmas tree. ABS, POWERSTEERING, ANTI SKID. I'll drive it and report back. Fingers crossed.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee I don't speak much English and I didn't understand your video very much, I have this same problem with the lights on my dashboard, could you write me what to do and I translate it? thanks bro
I've done this for my 2014 honda civic si but it has occurred a few weeks later after giving the battery a charge, and when these error lights come on, the whole car stops working and won't work until you get boosted. So I don't know what is wrong with it.
I have 4 warning lights when I start my car (2012 Civic Hybrid): "Check ABS System, Check Brake System, Check VSA System, Check Hill Start Assist System". I replaced 12V battery in Sept. 2023 (purchased brand new specifically for my car) and the battery has 12.59V. When the car is running the voltage is about 14.55V so the charging works. Then I went to Autozone car shop and they used a code scanner to test it and it came up with these results codes: "Left-Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction, code 13-11" and "Modulator-Control Unit Power Source Circuit (IG) Low Voltage, code 61-11". Any recommendations?
Yupp that is another potential cause for all these lights to come on! But essentially exactly what you stated, is what needs to be replaced. The front driver speed sensor. The multiple lights coming on is notorious when they go bad.
I ended up fixing mine myself but my whole car stuttered when they lit up and all I did was turn it off and on and revved my car and drove for a bit and all the lights turned off . Thanks for info !
2015 Honda civic: Gas gauge is always on empty, even when the tank is full. gas pump icon in center of gauge remains white and doesn't flash orange. Any way to check what is at fault? Or any diagnostics check that can be done ? Any help would be appreciated.
I just had the same issue. All I did was hook the scan tool up to it to bring up multiple codes . I did not clear anything. The came in with 14.4 at idle and 12.6 static. Passed every test I could throw at it. Got in sn started ones scan tool was removed and no lights at all. It just fixed itself. The owner swears it was never jump started. I give up but the car no shows no codes and has no lights snd I did not clear anything. I’m lost
Having this problem with my 2014 Honda Civic ex at first check charging system lights come on then check airbag then check brake system, check power steering system, check abs system, check vsa system, check hill assist system. I changed my battery and after a week I had the same problem. Once I get it to start it’ll run fine until I park it and all the lights start coming on again, when check power steering system light comes on my steering wheel becomes stiff, brought it back to my mechanic he changed the battery again and then told me my alternator isn’t charging
I ran into a curb on wet roads bumped my passenger tire now the car says check vsa and check power steering ... Is it pricey to fix ?? The wheel not driving as good either wheel alignment? Or what
The VSA module is expensive it can be anywhere from 800-1600 try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if that clears it. Describe “not driving good” is it the car steering towards a certain side? Is the car vibrating? If you hit the car hard enough you could have bent a control arm, if it was a small bump could be a tire balance or alignment
It’s. Good video but I want to ask a question I replace the battery bought a new one and drove my car for more than 2 minutes and the lights did not went away ?
I would ensure the battery is indeed the problem, and with the car cold & undriven for a few hours…I would check the battery voltage with a volt meter. With the car cold the battery should be reading at least 12.5v. It is possible to buy a bad or deeply discharged battery as well that isn’t putting out what it should be. Other than that, I would suggest having the car scanned with a good OBD Scanner. I would imagine one of your modules is throwing a code…and these cars are all but setup to have every light come on to “scare” you when you have one “issue” and/or a module is throwing a code. The battery is the most common issue that causes this, being the low voltage triggers all these lights to pop-up to scare you into having it checked/resolved immediately…but other issues do cause all these lights to come on as well. So after 100 percent ruling out a charging issue…I would have the car scanned with a higher-end OBD scanner capable of reading more than just ECM codes, like ABS, PCM’s, SRS, etc. because you might have a code stored that a regular “check engine light” only scanner that say Autozone utilizes for free doesn’t pick-up.
I pulled my steering column and replaced my ignition assembly. Now everything is back on but my VSA and check power steering light is on. I feel it in the pedal as well
Definitely got something else going on, outside of anything outlined in this video. More than likely is going to require some troubleshooting to locate the source(s). Definitely would say go over everything again, if you haven’t already.
I started getting the vsa system, abs system, steering wheel system , brake system on my 9th gen like 3 days ago whenever I turned it on they would pop up and when I’d start driving they’d go away but when I got to a stop they would pop right back on. I went to an autozone to get a code reader and they told me there was no issue with the car ? I’m stressing

2013 civic threw these codes the other day while idling. Came home left it sitting for a day. Lights turned off on the way to the auto shop. Auto shop said battery is fine and no issues with alternator. Lights came on again today while idling left off for a bit and then when driving they turned off. Could it still be the battery?
It’s possible. I would maybe have another check done on the battery to be 100 percent. Should be at least 12.5v when off, before starting. Once started it should be at least 13.7v.
Had mine do this exact thing today too. O reily said battery and alt were good. But i bought a new battery anyway cause its older. “Charge charging system” still came up once and went away on the way home. Though it runs ok, something is still wrong
This keeps happening to my 2015 Honda Civic. I’m not car savvy at all 😭 So are you saying to get a battery charger - plug it into the battery and then let it charge and that should work? Where do I get a battery charger?
I needed a battery charger personally. Because my car doesnt get driven. The battery was dead, causing lights to come on. The battery still was good though. If you have a bad battery, charging it isn’t going to fix anything. You might need a new battery. You need to find someone or invest in a cheap voltmeter/multimeter. You can check a battery voltage that way. A good battery should be 12.5v or higher. So after letting it sit over night, come out in the morning and test the battery. If it’s anything below 12.4v you have a bad battery and it needs replacement.
Hello yesterday I came up with the stupid idea of washing the engine and now everything mentioned in the video is happen in my car , what is your advice that I did not understand the video very well? 😟
Thanks alot.Ive had to jump my grandmas car off a few times. Its a 2014 with 8k miles. This last time every light was on and every other time I've done it nothing has come on. Just glad it wasn't anything serious.
I have the same problem, all the same lights came on. I checked the battery. Battery was good, replaced it with a new one and same issue. Checked fluids like most common comments and still the same issue. I’m about to go crazy...
Mines doing this..but this is the 3rd time in 2 months. Hesitant to start then check vsa check emissions.check power steering. Codes said battery alternator. Both are brand new and the xt is doing it again....what are any other causes? Does anyone know? Thanks
This happened to me and my mechanic is saying it is the transmission? And the code he is getting he believes is transmission. I got check everything lights though and it happened suddenly and the car doesn’t make transmission noises!
2014 Civic battery died (down to 7volts), put new battery in and got the codes---drove it 100yards and the codes went away (idling for 20minutes and then revving it did nothing)
Hello, I have a 2014 civic coupe that has all the same exact lights that are in the video. Its been months but I cant figure it out. I replaced (battery, alternator, all 4 abs speed sensors, even checked main fuse).
Wow, thats truly crazy. Sorry for the late response, have you gotten it resolved yet? Typically, the two main issues causing this are the battery (lack of power) and abs sensors. I have a friend who’s been a Honda Tech at a dealer for 5+ years as well, and I’ve spoken to him about this issue with all these lights coming on...and he’s told me from his experience it’s typically these two culprits. Somebody else commented on here as well stating that low brake fluid was his cause for all the lights. Seems as though Honda just programmed these cars to have every light coming on with everything little thing. One thing I would suggest is ensure those ABS sensors are good. I’ve seen bad ABS sensors right out of the box (especially cheap ones), and it could still potentially be a sensor. If you know someone with a scanner capable of reading the ABS Light, I would verify all 4 corners are on point even after the replacement.
This literally just happened to mine, battery is new, haven’t had chance to run obd2 scan yet but it’s a scary thing Hoping to get it fixed this weekend tho Hoping VSA module is gone on mine 130k miles takes it toll where I live lol
What your CEL on? I had the same issue when I replaced my Stock Flywheel with an after market one car threw all the warning lights on and gave me misfire codes in every cylinder I went back to the stock set up and codes disappeared but now they are back. Clutch is working fine, brand new battery brand new alternator checked all my fuses next step is Battery Charging Module if that dont work Im looking at the crankshaft sensor or VSA module 🤦♂️
Hey, sorry to hear. My CEL was not on. It just randomly appeared when starting it one day. Nothing was done to trigger it really other than letting the battery die.
Here’s an update! After scratching my head for month I ended up taking it to a Dealership they wanted me to change everything so I took it to a Indy shop and they told me it was the valves they needed adjustments after 15 min and $200 latter car is running like New and is getting the best MPG it’s ever had.
How did you change your colors to red? Mine is blue and I can change the colors on the center console, but it doesn't change the colors on the speedometer and it bothers me that they don't match.
Got these error codes after battery died, on my Civic FB (battery went dead) so I went for a quick drive and the error codes were gone by end of the first road
OK I’ve had the same problem with my 2013 Honda civic, the power steering and check the Vsa system, ABS lights and brake light I’ll keep coming on, they fix the module under my dashboard, and it still didn’t do the trick at the Honda dealership, the diagnosis said that one of the solenoids in my ABS control module is not working But somehow I don’t think that might be the problem but my lights used to go off sometimes whenever I was driving and then come back on quickly, any suggestions My battery is brand new and it does not die I drive the car all the time for work so has nothing to do with my battery
I’m surprised the dealer couldn’t get it sorted. All these lights do come on with ABS issues as well. Typically, an ABS sensor. If you have access to an OBDII scanner that is capable of reading ABS, I would check that first and see if you’re getting any ABS codes for any particular wheel sensor and go from there.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee The dealer said that the ABS module is on back order right now no other Dealerships have it and also there is no aftermarket part Also wouldn’t recommending using a used part . I was just told that one of the solenoids had malfunctioned in the Abs control module. It’s not a fuse issue or a battery issue
@@TheOriginalBeeCee No the ABS module wasn’t available it’s on back order, N/a right now , they went the other way and they went under my dash and fixed a module, I forget what it was again, but that didn’t work so the service manager basically said we will use the money towards a new diagnosis and the rest of it towards the part when it comes in because they said a solenoid was not functioning in the ABS control module I believe it was the control relay they fixed but that didn’t work
I would check the voltage to confirm the charging system is on point. (Battery, alternator, etc). Need a voltmeter. A good battery should be 12.5v cold, and 13.7-14.7 when running. If the voltage checks out, its probably an ABS issue, in which case a OBD scan tool would need to be utilized to further diagnose/confirm.
Hey what’s up man I have the same issue rn with my 2014 Honda Civic I did the intake boot and now I have the same lights as you , I was able to remove some on them but I have have the tire pressure and traction control off light on I drove it from 1 hr straight but it didn’t turn off , you think it can be the battery?
Need to test the battery voltage to rule it out. I’ve made an updated version of this video with troubleshooting tips: 2012-2015 9th Gen. Civic Check ABS, Check VSA, Check TPMS...Check EVERYTHING! (W/ DIAGNOSIS) ua-cam.com/video/DNzbVwEtJSQ/v-deo.html That will give you insight on what to look for.
Theres this SUUUPER cool thing they have just for THIS purpose...so your battery doesnt just die everytime its stored for an extended period of time...its called a float charger.. you should invest in one lol
@@lordiermedia4001 if you have a 12V Volt-meter, you can first test battery at terminals with car off. Battery should be at least 12.5V with the car off. Then start the car, and test at the battery terminals with the car running, and the voltage should ideally read between 13.7-14.7V with the car running.
If a fuse was blown, you would have no power to the amp(s) and/or audio. But an aftermarket audio setup will definitely put a strain on the battery that it really wasn’t designed to handle. Especially these little Honda 51 series batteries, they really are just enough power to get the car started, and that’s really about it. If you have an audio setup in one of these cars I would recommend updating the battery at the very least.
I’m having this issue right now. Just happened over my lunch break. I’m hoping it’s the same. I only drove it up to about 30 mph though and it didn’t go off. I replaced my battery last year and just had it checked yesterday and it was good. 😩😩
I would check it with a voltage/mutli meter, if you have access to one, or pick one up. These cars are picky with voltage. With the car off & cold, so after the car has been off for like 4-5 hours or so…..that battery should be roughly 12.5v….as a good battery is 12.5v when cold. If you see it 12.2, or anything lower…it’s more than likely the battery. You can also check the voltage when the car starts to check the alternator output, should ideally be between 13.7-14.7v when first started & running. If all of the voltage looks good and checks out, I would have the car scanned with a good OBDII scanner that can read ABS codes etc., because they’re could be potentially a hidden “trouble-code” from one of the modules causing it that a capable scanner can pick up.
@BeeCee Built hey, just a question. My traction control, ABS, and emergency brake lights are on (2014 honda pilot). Hooked up an obd ll scanner and gave the code 121 11 (vsa solenoid module) before i go and spend money on a new module, Could these lights be caused by a broken fuse? My battery died and it was jumped, then these lights came on. Changed the battery since, but the lights are still on the dash. Any thoughts?
Need to make sure that battery is good and/or charged. Why did it die in the first place? Either because its bad, or unused…in which case it could need a good charge.
2012 honda civic exl. Replaced the battery, replaced the alternator, replaced the speed sensors, checked all fuses even the main fuse, did a battery test and alternator test and still no solution last resort check the power steering module and ecm. Anyone got any other pointers please comment.
In your case, i would really suggest having the car scanned with a good OBD Scanner. Couldn’t hurt to check the battery voltage with a volt meter as well, just to 100 percent rule that out. With the car cold & un-driven for a few hours, the battery should read at least 12.5V. But I would have the car scanned with a higher-end OBD scanner capable of reading more than just ECM codes, like ABS, PCM’s, SRS, etc. because you might have a code stored that a regular “check engine light” only scanner that say Autozone utilizes for free doesn’t pick-up.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee thanks for the response. I will definitely ask my cousin to bring his scanner to check it out since he has more mechanical experience than me. I hate these new cars, ask me to do an engine rebuild or troubleshoot any mechanical issue but when it comes to electronics issues it is just ridiculous.
@@germanarellano5119 yea man seems its the new way manufacturers are going with cars. From what I’ve seen it started on higher end exotic cars, and nowadays it seems to have found its way into most manufacturers, Toyotas are pretty similar to this now as well. Recently watched a video on one that had damn near every light on for virtually nothing lol smh.
BAD NEWS! I went to Honda dealer service. The speed sensor is ok. It is something wrong with the engine wiring harness. There is no continuity of the VSA module connector to ground and between pins on the VSA module. There is an open wire between the VSA module and the speed sensor, not visible, no communication. They recommend to replace the engine wire harness and recheck. It would cost me $9,800, which is obviously not worth it. They replaced engine oil, transmission fluid, tire rotation, air filter and I paid $540 (that included diagnoses for the issue), because the maintenance reminders showed up few weeks ago. I am planning to buy Tesla the new 2024 Model Y, but it won't be available for sale in the US until next year in 2025. I wonder, can I still drive with these warning lights/this issue for a year? I usually make about 22,000 miles/year. What am I risking?
Wow that sucks to hear. Of course it couldnt be easy and just be the sensor itself. Thats surprising. It should be fine though, those lights are just annoying, it won’t prevent the car from operating as it should.
I had this same issue and some mechanic told me that i need a new transmission. my car went limp mode but it still turns on but can’t move it. my diagnostic tool gave me code P0796. My battery is also a bit old.
If you have all these lights on with a CEL code… like you have, you should diagnose from the CEL Code. The battery issue would only be relevant if you didn’t have an actual trouble-code generating as well. However, you can always rule the battery out by testing with a volt meter. With the car off and cold, a good battery should be 12.5-12.4v minimum. If the battery is in the 11v range etc., or lower, thats when the battery should become a concern. A P0796 is definitely a transmission code though, so I would have it evaluated…..but it doesn’t necessarily mean you need you need a whole new transmission.
I got TPMS, Power Steering, VSA on after falling in a pot hole, any idea of what could be causing this? I tried to reset the TPMS calibration, but it says failed to initialize.
@Richard Phillips it was very expensive, I'm thankful I was able to claim it to the insurance. I looked through my invoice and it doesn't say they replaced wheel sensors.
This happened to me just today. Early morning.. note: my tpms warning was already was for quite anwhile. While driving First the vsa check came one. 5 sec later , powersteering check came on. What i did was. Pull over to the side of the road. Turn off ignition restart. That solved for me. Hopefully I doesn’t come back. My car is 2013 Si. 100k miles
Its the wheel speed sensor. Guarantee it. All these dash lights can come on with a wheel sensor as well. You need to utilize a decent OBDII scanner to read the data and pull the code to see what side it is.
I would do some testing with a volt meter and see where you’re at. Check the battery cold after not running for 6-8 hours, should be 12.4-12.5v. Then start it, running it should be roughly 13.7-14.7v. If you got good correct voltage both before start-up and while running, I would have in checked with a higher end OBDII scanner that’s capable of reading more than just CEL codes. Could have a bad wheel sensor, they also can cause all these lights to come on, and if you utilize a scanner capable of reading ABS codes etc., it can steer you in the right direction. You can 100 percent narrow it down with a volt-meter and a decent scanner.
Johnathan Candelario you have a complete separate issue then anything discussed here. Have you ever taken either to a tire shop? I’m sure one of the TPMS sensors is just bad, and needs to be replaced. Any shop with a TPMS reader should be able to tell you which one is defective, and it should be a cheap replacement.
Jordany Galván did you watch the video? Lol. I reviewed what I did to solve the issue. Ended up being a power issue for me. Most likely a battery issue creating a false reading, but it can also stem from a VSA modulator or abs sensor.
And clean, at least inspect, the contact surface on the terminals at both ends of your battery cable (bart & eng side). You have to disconnect to see if there’s corrosion that stops power.

I paused at the 13 sec mark. Not conceited. Okay back to my daughters car diagnostic. 😭😭

I have same problem on a 2013 civic. Battery went dead today cleaning interior with doors open. Charged battery, and Merry Christmas tree. ABS, POWERSTEERING, ANTI SKID. I'll drive it and report back. Fingers crossed.

Good evening I just took off my battery terminal and then tpms Rms etc light is on what is the issue
Thanks big help on my daughters 2012 civic :)
this happens on my 2012 civic as well! I am gonna try the method
Yes it works for me!!! Just drive my civic for one minute and all the warning lights gone!
I've done this for my 2014 honda civic si but it has occurred a few weeks later after giving the battery a charge, and when these error lights come on, the whole car stops working and won't work until you get boosted. So I don't know what is wrong with it.
Can you turn on the car and rev the engine and its just the gears dont work?
Glad they went off!

Thanks for sharing your experience. You had double the charging issues I see.
Did your alternator change fix this issue?
Exactly what’s happening to my 2013 civic. Did the alternator change fix it??
I ran into a curb on wet roads bumped my passenger tire now the car says check vsa and check power steering ... Is it pricey to fix ?? The wheel not driving as good either wheel alignment? Or what
The VSA module is expensive it can be anywhere from 800-1600 try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if that clears it. Describe “not driving good” is it the car steering towards a certain side? Is the car vibrating? If you hit the car hard enough you could have bent a control arm, if it was a small bump could be a tire balance or alignment
@@erickjessicamontes9014 that’s exactly what it was took it to the shop had to get another arm and tire rods so the vsa system went off
Oh. You really hit that curb. 🧐
@@captainteamcarry3 yes I did it was slick outside from raining all day and I slid into it I couldn’t do nothing I tried still hit it ...
This is exactly what I was seeing.
Life saver.

Did you fix it?

This literally just happened to mine, battery is new, haven’t had chance to run obd2 scan yet but it’s a scary thing
Hoping to get it fixed this weekend tho

OK I’ve had the same problem with my 2013 Honda civic, the power steering and check the Vsa system, ABS lights and brake light I’ll keep coming on, they fix the module under my dashboard, and it still didn’t do the trick at the Honda dealership, the diagnosis said that one of the solenoids in my ABS control module is not working
But somehow I don’t think that might be the problem but my lights used to go off sometimes whenever I was driving and then come back on quickly, any suggestions
My battery is brand new and it does not die I drive the car all the time for work so has nothing to do with my battery
@@TheOriginalBeeCee The dealer said that the ABS module is on back order right now no other Dealerships have it and also there is no aftermarket part

I bought a new battery and installed it and I still got the lights!? Any suggestions?
I would check the voltage to confirm the charging system is on point. (Battery, alternator, etc). Need a voltmeter. A good battery should be 12.5v cold, and 13.7-14.7 when running. If the voltage checks out, its probably an ABS issue, in which case a OBD scan tool would need to be utilized to further diagnose/confirm.

Sure its not your alternator killing the battery creating a power issue?
@@TheOriginalBeeCee that may be it. Any cheap ways to get that checked?
@@lordiermedia4001 if you have a 12V Volt-meter, you can first test battery at terminals with car off. Battery should be at least 12.5V with the car off. Then start the car, and test at the battery terminals with the car running, and the voltage should ideally read between 13.7-14.7V with the car running.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee Thanks, I’ll give this a try! Appreciate the help!
Hey man had a question when your si did this would u let you go past 3k rpm or was it in like limp mode
It was only driven for like 5 seconds with these lights on. They all went off immediately after the 5-10 seconds of driving with no issues.
I got a 12 in sub in my car 2 days ago so is it possible that it overloaded my battery and it needs to charge/blew a fuse?
If a fuse was blown, you would have no power to the amp(s) and/or audio. But an aftermarket audio setup will definitely put a strain on the battery that it really wasn’t designed to handle. Especially these little Honda 51 series batteries, they really are just enough power to get the car started, and that’s really about it. If you have an audio setup in one of these cars I would recommend updating the battery at the very least.
@@TheOriginalBeeCee Aight thanks man will do
I’m having this issue right now.
Any thoughts?
battery died in my 2012 Civic LX, jumped it, drove it a few minutes but lights are still on.

How you check the temperature gage???
Thank you I was worrying rn lol
yea its meant to scare you lol. They throw all these lights on purpose
