Thanks for making these vids. I've got an '04 R6 that won't keep RPMs steady & dies when I pull in the clutch. I figured some coils had burned, but the plugs n coils look good. So now I'm doing the valves, and throttle body sync. Your videos helped allot, thanks bro.
Yes the valves would seem to be seating if it does hold in theory. What caused the jump was it under load whats the oil like what about the coolant ect? Your fzr 1000 sounds like the cam chain is about to cause you similar problems. And that stater gear is cheap and easy to replace on that bike or it could be the actually gear on the starter.Surprisingly nice minty tank on that old bike.Good Luck !!
This video although has some info.really was to take apart a blown motor get familiar with the steps to take on a head replacement yourself. It had nothing to do with an installation.I added the videos your looking for.I hope it will help. Part 2-3 should get ya going.Or at least show what you may have skipped or over looked in your install.
Does the timing chain have any special marks on how it needs to go I just bought a 02 r6 and the valves bent and I'm going to put it back together now but I just wanted to know if the chain had any marks to put it on like how cars do ??
I was wondering, how is it that you can get to the cam chain at the bottom? In another video you said you would have to split the cases for most other bikes unless the guide was broken off, so did you break off the guide or something?
I HAV JUST GOT A R-6 IT JUMT TIMEING BUT IT WUS BAD ENUF TO WHAR IT WOOD NOT TERN OVER BUT I POOLD OFF THE HED AND FILD THE PORTS UP WATTER AND THAY HELED NO WOYYER LEEK OUT SO I GES IT'S ALL GOOD RIGHT
Ya totally. just drain the rad and take off the tank get the clutch cable side plastics carbs plugs and misc cables out of the way. just start with valve cover for some extra room then the cam chain itself,You'll be good to go,.
The Ninja 250's Crankshaft has a Machined Gear that is one Piece In order to Remove The Cain on that Bike The cases will need to be split. But on the R6 and many other bikes The Gear is removable by a Separate reverse Screw or bolt. The ninja I redid had a damaged internal fin. That stops you from Removing it.Some Grind those off mine was already Destroyed.Guess its for either making it a bitch or safety in case of chain wear or cam chain tensionor failure.
Md Ali I race formula 500's, but I generally set my inlets at 0.006"-0.008" and exhaust at 0.009"-0.011" not sure what that factory settings are for them though
Yea i know. Were taking 2013 yamaha R1 motor, tranny, and all the electrical components and putting it in a 16 foot flat bottom boat so I needed to know which way the motor was spinning because of the jet impeller.
Mirza Korajkic Well if your trying to push forward centerline on a motor it would be clockwise(or straight line) .But if your pulling you could be 180 out and you would be counter clockwise.Overall the Output Shaft (sprocket) is on the left the chain is rotating forward.there are motors with with the output on the right.Good Luck on the project sounds crazy.

Thanks, the tutorial video series helps. I didn't want to dive into a project without knowing what I'm getting into.
Great video series. Just got a 05 FZ6 with the same engine so it was good to see the engine disassembled.
Thank you! This vid helped ALOT! :)

Can you remove the cylinder head on a 1999 r6 without removing the engine. I am about to start the job soon.
