Jaime Foy is such a beast. That said, there's really two ways to lock into 50-50s on round rails and that's putting all your weight over your heels (what Foy does) and then there's cross-locking, which is where one truck is locked in on the toe side and the other on the heel side which gives you the optimal balance you need. For anyone new to grinding round rails I would definitely suggest learning to cross lock because it's going to be easier and way more consistent than trying to grind heelside like it was a ledge or square rail.

Perfect video for today. Every park in Seattle has square rails. One was just built with a round rail going there today ❤

It was easier for me to trick myself into thinking the round rail was a ledge. I just practiced on a flat rail over and over until I just got comfortable. Before that my board was flipping over like joe was talking about but I think it was because I was too scared to put weight on the rail. Dan corrigan also said to put weight on the rail. Once I did all that i got the round flat bar in a couple tries.

It's way harder than it looks to pop off the ledge right after getting in. My feet are too over the bolts to pop out usually

I think he cross locks or locks in heel side

He said on the nine club he does both, but that hillside is safer for going through kinks

the general consensus seems to be cross-lock backside 50 and heelside frontside 50; pretty sure that's what he mentioned on 9 Club segment too.
