  • Dylan Jaeb's Secret to Kickflips is getting the knee out in front while the nose or front trucks are still under the leading hip. Dylan Jaeb has Flawless kickflip technique and in this video I try to Copy dylan Jaeb's kickflips techique not just flicking like dylan jaeb but also trying to catch the kickflips with Dylan Jaeb's technique. Dylan Jaeb is a free agent right now but I'm sure once he gets a board sponsor and puts out a video part he'll turn pro in no time. Thanks for Watching check out Dylan Jaeb on instagram.

A tip for the balance of nosemanual: your front foot should be more so just above the front pocket of the deck instead of being completely on the nose. Nosemanuals are one of my favorite tricks and it took a while to get the balance right, and what helped me is having my weight over the front truck, but with my front foot just above the pocket because you still get the balance of having your foot entirely on the nose, however if your front foot is fully on the nose, you may go too far forward if your weight isnt centered and/or lean too far over your front shoulder. Your back foot placement can be where ever you wish, but if its over the bolts, that's where you can get the best balance from the front truck to the back.
Hope this helps in any way, im enjoying these secret trick tip theory videos. Keep it up!

I Use front foot in cross Angle position (45-65 degrees) balancing on bolts ,toes on beginning concave of nose but sole of foot and heel pinch towards your body(wieght on heels instead of toes)...it helps me now i would lean at first but knew that waant right for me ;now i simply pressure towards my kickflip side of board with heels angled across top bolts kind of like a very very wide kickflip position.

Even if I can already do the trick, I love these videos. Skateboarding is about a million little things and it really helps to see how others approach tricks. My main 'hack' for kickflips and any other flip trick really is not to focus on the flick too much. No need for ninja kicks, just get in the right stance , pop and even while your front foot is sliding up the nose, try to get your feet in the landing position. I mean just try only half flipping and landing on the graphic side on purpose - most of the time, your board will actually flip completely anyway.

Keep up the chill clips bro. Enjoy your process. Kids, dont ever forget this: there is no substitute for actual board time; you can sit here on the tube and analyze every video, but nothing will be better for your progress than just time spent rolling around on your board (tricks or no tricks). A strong foundation is everything. Tricks and style will come as those on-the-board hours stack up.

That nollie up the euro gap 👌🏻 Btw I noticed this knee thing for a while now, it really helps! I think its twofold - it keeps your motions more aligned w the board, and it tricks you into use the right thigh muscles to slide, then using the knee joint as a pivot point to flick the front foot out.

Bro! So much inspiring! I've been skating for 10 years, but I was younger and I never thought about how to do tricks like this! and know that I'm coming back to skateboarding, I'm learning so much faster with your videos, and keeping that in mind, that when we break down the tricks and start to think about it, body position, foot and all that stuff, we just teach our brains how to do it properly, and I'm in a constant evolution after that, Thank you a lot for opening my mind! Your videos are amazing and so much inspiring, I'm from Brazil and I always watch your videos before my sesh! And now I'm in the process of learning how to crooked grind popping out! I realize when I saw your crooked, that when I do and when I can pop out of a crooked, I think about to bend my front leg, 'Cause when I lock the crooks with my front leg kinda extended I loose the momentum to nollie out, and when I lock in and just keep going grinding with my front leg bended, I have so much control and more momentum to popping out! Try this out next time to see if it works for you!

Andy Anderson's personality is different. Let your own unique qualities that define you shine through. I cant sk8 but love watching sk8ers because of the differences not the similarities. I LOVE watching Roy Purdy cause if he falls too much he willl start dancing!!! All different all unique!!

Been practicing 5 months and have standing kickflips to the point I am consciously catching with my backfoot and stomp down the board (2 out of 10 tries) but rolling I just don't understand. But with your video I think what I'm missing is lifting my knee first, I kick the board away as soon as I roll.
In terms of your kickflips I think you're leaving some air and hangtime on the table by not fully activating your hip flexors, I went frame by frame and you barely ever reach the full 90/100 degree angle with your hips, just an idea!
Most importantly, yes I also compare myself to these pros even tho I'm clearly a beginner and dogshit. It's called inspiration. It's why the next generation will always be better in every sports. And you have to do it and it's awesome to see you strive, but at the same time you cannot forget how far you've come and simply how much more time pros have invested into skateboarding. I always remind myself that jonny giger has probably successfully slid more primo slides than I have even attempted kickflips so no complaining here :)

Yeah you were definitely getting your knee in front of the board and a bunch of those kickflips looked great, I think it had the effect you were looking for.
I’m curious when you try to change something in your form like that how awkward does it feel or does it come together pretty quick. I’ve only been able to kickflip for a little over a year, and kickflip while moving for about 6 months, and it just feels like if I tried to modify my style I’d have to get broke off a couple times before I can get anywhere with it. Does it get better with more experience or do you find that you just get more set in your ways?

This was really practical kick flip advice. I guess you’re right. Chasing the dream is part of the fun of anything. Like I want to be such a skilled and smart electrican that I am sought after and my value goes up. I usually skate because I just love the feel and the escape but I guess that is in the pursuit of growing and in some dream beyond dream mentality I imagine having a deck with my name on it. Or al least getting some free shoes. Hahaha…
