Even though I don't embroider, I still like watching all of the videos about the way people do different stitches and the new techniques that are created all the time. I love all of these stitches but I think the last one and the woven back stitch are my favorites. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill. It's a beautiful art and craft.
Palestrina stitch is so pretty, I'm a cross stitcher but I do like to embroider my name and the date when I finish a piece, I'll definitely have to try Palestrina
I like Palestrina best! It looks very lovely to look at. Am gonna use it for my embroidery stitches for my face masks especially the letters. Nice and helpful tutorial! Looking forward to more!
I love to hear it when someone says a relative taught them embroidery, that it was your grandad is wonderful! It's like riding a bike, you never forget!
Thank you for your knowledge! I've learned so much from you. I used the Woven back stitch and the Palestrina stitch on a project I'm working on. Lovely.
Thank you for making this, it was helpful for me. Especially the waste knot technique I’m just starting with embroidering letters on tshirts and was searching up how to secure it without the knot and couldn’t find anything this was helpful thank you I also didn’t know exactly what to type when searching though..do you have a video on r shirt style embroidery? Stuff that will be washed over and over ? Thanks again
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery you set a task/project and we do it collectively...great way to develop skills and see individual interpretations on a theme. Would be good fun and really encouraging..especially good with easing of lockdown and the stresses that come with that!
Sarah thank u so so much for all of your wonderful videos. I now refer to you as “my teacher”! You have a video where you show how to fill with satin stitch, keeping the angle. I can’t find it again. Would you please let me know where I can find it? Thanks Beatrice 🥰

I’m new to embroidery and was wondering besides lettering what would you use the Palestrina stitch for? It’s so pretty and would love to start incorporating it..
It would make a good outline stitch Rachel as it's worked in a row and would easily turn around shapes. You could try working it in rows to as a filling stitch? I haven't tried it but thinking about it, it could also be worked as an individual stitch if you wanted to do an open filling with it. It's very versatile!
hello, and thank you for your lovely videos ! i've learned so much. am trying my hand at the cable chain stitch in a heavy metallic thread. it keeps jamming up as individual threads will slip in the bundle and create lumps and knots. do you have any tips to keep the threads together ? is thread wax recommended for metallics ? thanks in advance !
Hello! I really enjoyed the video; even a total newbie like me could follow! One question: what's the thickness of the red thread you used for the couching? Guestimate says a millimeter and something, but I'm not sure. Thank you ^^
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery thank you ^^ I asked mostly to have a reference point, because that "big thread with little thread" combination is exactly what I needed (only in blue and white xD)
AWESOME !!! I did the cable chain on my embroidery bingo by jessica long embroidery last month ;) I have a question is the palestrina stitch the same as the dutch knot because they look the same ? ;) Thanks for sharing ;D
It's a linen Twill Sara so it doesn't have a count as such. You can see it on our website here: www.sarahhomfray.com/myshop/cat_1695131-Linen-fabric.html
Have you tried any of the stitches in the second video '5 more stitches..'? Some of these are thicker. You can also just double up your threads if you want something more chunky..
I like that you explain it more than once,it’s really helpful😄

Sarah, I enjoy your teaching me about stitchhing‼️
I have really got to stop binge watching your amazing tutorials and get on with some embroidery! 😇
Please feel free to binge..:)
I love these “express” videos! Great when you just need a refresher 🌸
Some of the best descriptions and examples and what not that I have ever found. Thank you.

Beautiful 💕💕 embroidery
Absolutely wonderful tutorial, thank you for your kind sharing.
Your. Ideas are so helpful! Thank you! 😊
As a man, I prefer the stem stitch. The others have varying degrees of ‘fanciness’, but the stem is clean simple and does the job.
Thank you. This is just awesome. Exactly what I needed for my quilt retreat lettered project.
Thank you for sharing Sarah x
Found it! It is in the “ free stuff”. Thanks

It's the full siz strands Federico so that's about 1mm but you can use any amount you like!

Me gusta las puntadas de letras
Can you outline a letter with a pencil like you showed ? I want to do this for a bag.
See my video about pens and pencils for embroidery!
Which fabric is best
Can you please send me the link for the letters Thanks for such Beautiful embroidery 😘💗

Do you have a thick lettering tutorial I’m trying to make a Service dog patch and I am failing miserably😂

I'm gonna use this to write Calvin Klein on all my clothes. Thanks!
Pathetic, get a grip!

Dude it’s still hard for me to sew the letter M on my bfs hoodie
What are you having trouble with specifically Merari?
Sarah
You never show how to end threads on the underside….in all your demos
Just weave the needle underneath a few stitches Miryom, check out the Egg project video
