Thank you so much for this video. My mother, who recently passed, taught me all these stitches when I was about 5 years old. I'm 61 now & have very happy memories of that time spent with her ❤ I particularly love the cross & chain stitch.
Sorry to hear of your loss. My grandmother and mother taught me these as a child. And recently my heart is calling to do embroidery again. I can still remember their faces. It brings back such sweet memories ❤
I am 57 and my friend sent me a complete embroidery kit (from Colorado to Tanzania). UA-cam got me started. That was my birthday gift this past October 2023.
I’ve been into arts and craft since I was a child and it helped me a lot through Highschool. It’s always so nice to see when ppl my age to crafts as well bc it is more uncommon but we’re still out there!
My daughter, now 19, has made jewelry, painted, and crafted in innumerable ways since she was a toddler. She has been teaching herself (with a little help from dad) to sew and alter her own clothes. I have always told her to respect and learn the old ways, that we will be glad to know them one day
I am so happy I found all the stitches. My mother used sew when she was watching TV or at a dr visit. I never learned them from her while she was alive but I'm sure she would be delighted to know I'm trying to do this now. Thanks again.
My mom taught me how to embroider 50 years ago and I remember my first pillow I made. She’s 92 now. 😊 This is a wonderful tutorial on different types of stitches. I can use it to help me get started again. Thank you. 🪡🧵
I am so excited to find this wonderful embroidery work found on U tube channel. This reminds me my childhood days. My mother taught me so many different types of stitches. Now I am sixty seven. I have lost touch. But as I am watching this continuously I feel so tempting to start again. Please help me how to practice. I want explanation explanation
thank you. im 17 and am glad to have come across something simple any easy to practice/use as reference. my dad, in his 50s, knows how to sew and such, and taught my older sibling. I'm pretty fortunate to have an easy path of learning something as complicated as sewing. To an outsider, at least
So excited to have come across this video! I learned how to do most of these when I was young but have mostly forgotten. Now that I’m a Grammy, I really want to learn more and create some treasures to last for generations. Thanks!! 🥰
Oh gosh...reminds me of needlework class in convent school!! But it was my darling, creative, busy physician mom who could knit, crochet, and do hand-embroidery too! Hugs to you for showing this so meticulously, and bringing sweet memories to the heart!
Thank you. Some of the stitches I already knew how to do. And others I didn’t. I am intrigued and motivated to pick up embroidery again. This video was very helpful!
I don't do embroidery, but I learned all these during my elementary school years. I'm now turning 40. My favourite stitch is probably chain stitch bec. it was the only stitch I gained a perfect score for. My feather stitch's perfect score doesn't count since it was my Auntie Zen who did it. Kidding aside, I remember that I used two colours for my chain stitch assignment, black and orange, for Halloween. Thank you for this excellent video and more than that, for bringing to fore fond old memories.
There are so many sewing tutorials but this is the 1st that was actually helpful. Straightforward, no fluff & just perfectly orchestrated. Thank you sooooo much!
Perfect execution!!! Lovely hand stitching. Amazing someone still knows all those stitches. Few people seem to know how to use a sewing machine much less hand stitch something with such precision.
Thank you, thank you. The way you demonstrated the stitch in a line, allows a person to see how it’s done! I can’t wait to try some of these stitches! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing! I don’t see at all but I was so intrigued by this video so I clicks on it and I’m sure glad that I did! Your threading skills are so impressive! I’ve always had an interest in sewing but I never got into learning. This has really fired up my desire to learn. Thanks again for sharing your talent and skill with us! ❤️
❤ beautiful thank you, also very therapeutic, i enjoyed doing embroidery on tea tray cloths and handkerchiefs as a little girl and some for my newborn 25 years ago, been a long time ... i still have the rings and cotton, needles and clippers 😅 again thank you for sharing ❤
This was nostalgia...my teacher who was pretty ignorant (very strict) in giving any special attention at my struggle of learning these stitches, failed me for needle work😢 since then I worked really hard to secure good grades in academics so that I can be taught computer science instead of needle work. Looking at this video reminded me of my sampler (red colour) which I threw away eventually. On watching this video I think I still need to learn this...thanks for reignition of this interest ❤❤
Thanks for doing this video, I do a lot of hand sewing mostly cushions, but I want to do more things so this has inspired me to try more project's...( I'm in my late 20's ) I find it has a calming effect... 🙂
I'm 54 yrs old now and this video bought back fond memories of my mom sewing embroideries so patiently on our bedsheets and pillow cases. Thank u very much for this video. Will show it to my mum who's 80 now 😊
Absolutely beautiful...back to my class..40 years back..miss my school days..we had hand embroidery classes from 3rd to nine..wish to start doing embroidery from today on
I learn Blanket and chain stitch when I was in junior high in my class of sewing. They teach us how to manually use this stitch method for making clothing! Love to see people still use it… ❤❤❤
yes i did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!, all the stritches for5hours ,with a lot of proud ( TuT),thanks to your hard work every one whoever you are🥰,thank you Modern craft💐💐💐💐💐💐
I started doing embroidery when I was in junior high and continued through college. I loved the various stitches shown, and I have many of my "creations" around the house. My daughters-in-law have taken quite a few, and now the grandchildren are interested in learning how to do "fancy sewing" as they call it.
Excellent tutorial! Truly helpful camera angels and expert workmanship. Thank you for this valuable variety of stitches. I adjusted the playback speed to .05 and could see all the steps beautifully. Thank you again!
I LOVE this! Such a great variety of stitches, I love that they're all in one place to reference here. You demo is so clear and easy to follow along for each one. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Hello 👋👋 That is soo wonderful! thank you for such a detailed instruction. I am a crochet lover, I have been creating for over 20 years and recently I have been thinking about embroidery. And there you go! I came across your tutorial🎉
When I was in 4th grade, I had to submit stitches like this one. I thought I did awesome until I saw my classmate's which looked like this. His mother did it for him. I never got over it until I could do it by myself like this but man I wish we had these tutorial videos before. 😭
These are nice even for those of us who are not beginners, including some stitches I had never seen before. This would be lovely framed as a sampler for reference purposes. Thank you.
I really enjoyed watching this video. It brought fond memories of my childhood. Mom would sit me down and make examples of this kind of stitches. Then I had to complete them. Later I would do an embroidery.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this video! I learned a great deal. I've never done embroidery before, and this video makes me feel confident I can learn to do it.
Ma'am, Wish U A Very Happy Healthy Prosperous New Year. Ur talent & description of the way of stitching, the Embroidery Designs were very nice & appreciated. U have been an Inspiration to me for I am very much interested to learn new things & explore new creativity for a better prospects & goals dreams of life
Thank u so much I got many new stitches introduced by you. I learnt in my childhood in standard one to eight but then after no more stitches I practiced but today I inspired with new stitches. Lots of thanks
Lovely tutorial. I found it easy to follow and look forward to the bullion. Looks like the back stitch and the stem stitch are the same, just on different sides of the fabric, does that make sense ?
Ah, I get what you mean. Stem stitch is back stitch "reversed"? Except, Stem stitch is worked by placing the second thread (and subsequent) about two thirds along the length of the prior stitch (either above it,, or just below it but very close) but not in the same hole the first thread went down, so the result is slanted or staggered looking; slightly off-set, rather than evenly spaced, like back stitch...maybe watch both demonstrations again and you'll see the difference.
Thank you so much for this video. My mother, who recently passed, taught me all these stitches when I was about 5 years old. I'm 61 now & have very happy memories of that time spent with her ❤ I particularly love the cross & chain stitch.

This is an Art/Skill that shall never fade away. As a single father, I find myself using such skills for my two very young boys.
Thank you for the class and remember all the good times I have had with my grandmother. What a precious memory. Thanks.
This brings back the old school memory of my craft class. The video is such a great tutorial, thank you.

Thank you. Some of the stitches I already knew how to do. And others I didn’t. I am intrigued and motivated to pick up embroidery again. This video was very helpful!
This video is a gem for many of us who are trying to reinvent their rusted childhood embroidery knowledge again in old age.
