HOLY mother of NOSTALGIAS!!! this were REAL VINAGE COACHERS!!!!! FACCO days!!! Listens that 6-71-2 drive Detroits ROARRRDING plus Allison VH-Hyrdo drive gears!!!!!! these here were TDH-4000 plus TDH-5000 coachers plus TWIN COACH!, so i were happy too annouce i has rides these long times ago, no crime waves,no graffiti anyswhere!!!!! truley award winnig filb amigo!!!AWESOME+900000000000000000Star!
This really brings back memories, I grew up in NYC and remember the first of the fishbowl buses that replaced these. These had a unique smell of the exhaust that I still recall today. Great blast from the past...wish we could travel back in time to an earlier simpler era...
Those window designs on the vintage buses came along about 1954. Prior to that the side windows had square corners. The 1954 and later had rounded corners on the side windows. Great video with memories.
Wow! Those look immaculate also! I sure remember in Portland, Oregon when Rose City Transit ran them all over in the 1960's--rides just 15 cents. I think Tri-Met still runs a handful of GMC fishbowls along a regular route.
Love the look and sound of both the new and old look busses with those classic 6V71 (or turbo 8V71 if you had a big, heavy a/c pack top back on the new look long ride Atlantic City Jersey Coaches) 2 stroke engines...
wow, thats really incredible..most major bus municipalities will tell u in a minute, we are not into nostailga.(Septa)...Nice to see Old GMs running..in clear HD looks weird not seeing them in a grainy 60 or 70s 8mm..nice catch..
The roll signs are in the wrong place on the 2969. The correct location is route number on the left (when facing the bus) and the destination on the right above the operator.
oldschool! true steel & true glass! in all modern buses and cars has fuckin` souless chinese plastic base and plastic glasses P.S I write this in 2019 and now GMC RTS became raritet buses too!
How could anyone be nostalgic for these awful things that displaced the streetcar system? I can almost smell the blast of diesel exhaust as this thing goes by! How wonderful!
The '2969' that runs every Christmas time is NOT the original bus immortalized in that "Honeymooners" photo. That bus in which Gleason, Carney et al. posed was a TDH-4509 originally built for NYC Omnibus Corp. (one of the many predecessors, in terms of bus routes, to MaBSTOA which is today part of MTA's NYC Bus) in the November-December 1950 period. Apparently, that original bus was long discarded and the TDH-5101 in use today is a "stand-in."
Montebello, Southern California in a delta shaped block where three streets come together has a bus station with some vintage buses an old look included about 15 years ago there even was a Scenicruiser bus 🚌 I kid you not just parked there
My hat is off to whomever is responsible for keeping those classic coaches in such pristine condition!
6V71's sound GREAT!
5 stars are not enough!!!
The talented technicians of the NYCTA/MTA Surface Division. They are the best !!!
Both the Fishbowl and the Old looks are my most nostalgic favourite

I used to ride on these beauties when I was a kid. Love the old style buses. Thanks for posting.
I Felt Very Safe And Secure On This Model Bus When They Were In Service. R.I.P. GM Old Looks. They'll "Never" Be Another Like It. Period!!!

Just about perfect. 6/71's and riveted sheet metal. Nice combination.

i have a 1955 white,theyre awesome....
NYCTA do this during the holiday season . mainly on the M42 which is on 42street in manhattan
I like the end where the RTS is chasing the TDH THE first and the LAST "FAMOUS" GM Transit offerings
Love the look and sound of both the new and old look busses with those classic 6V71 (or turbo 8V71 if you had a big, heavy a/c pack top back on the new look long ride Atlantic City Jersey Coaches) 2 stroke engines...
gorgeous !!
Wow!
Restored to perfection
I'm not too sure, I know they run on the M42 but I guess they run along other routes selectively.

#2969, the Jackie Gleason Bus!!
Most excellent.
They are noisy because their engines are air cooled. They don't have a water jacket to isolate the natural noise of the internal combustion engine.

2969. Mtl. Had buses like that also. Last ones ran till the 70s
Anywhere along the M42 between 10am to 4pm. I dont know about weekends

Lindo ônibus, muito bom gosto, parabéns.
wow top shape condition too.

🙄 I love the smell of Diesel in the morning..
Great video man!
Ah, the unmistakable sound of the GM 671. The windows in that first bus aren't original. All we need is Ralph Kramden!

Awesome! What time was this?
And lol the 5200's and their rear signs :sigh: they'll never be fixed...

Kick ass!

I wish that they had kept some of these in Toronto. I miss these beauties.
Around 3:45pm.
cool
Do you still pay fare in that bus?
Could you make a vid of you riding one?
Wow, that's pretty badass... Any idea on where to catch these beauties again?!
Are they running on any other routes also?
What time was it, when this sighting happened in this video?
Sliding windows on 9098. That's a rarity.
i remember whem i was littile my mother buys 5 tokens for a dallor and they did not take half dollors coins but the driver had change.lol
That's Ralph Kramdens Bus, #2969!
the first one looks like it's in the old PTC (Philadelphia) colors of white/orange/green
Awesome! How often, and why do they do this?
Where's Ralph Kramden?
coll
