Ty for these videos please never take them down my brother has autism and loves buses and trains and the sounds of New York we were born n raised there at the moment we no longer live in NYC and he misses those sounds they make him happy so again I thank you
Wow, thanks for such a deep comment. It's comments like this that makes it all worthwhile. I'm glad to see that you and your brother enjoy the videos. There will be a lot more to come.
man i miss hearing the sounds of those buses. i remember when i was in 9th grade when the buses that started with 49XX,50XX & 51XX all came out around 1999-2000 and they had suede seats. man i miss living in NY
You don’t realize actually how slow they are since they make such a cool sound that makes it feel like it’s going really fast. These were the best busses ever and what started my interest in watching transit videos.
Caitsith810 Why so quick to insult me? Mute the video and watch how slow it really is. I rode these a lot, daily to school every morning and afternoon.
I'm not sure how I insulted you since I didn't really say anything insulting to begin with.... And you honestly need to stop thumbs upping your own comments.
I visited that exact spot on Friday. It's just not the same without the RTS's around. And M66 service comes from Manhattanville (temporarily) as of April 2nd.
I Have Seen A Rerouted Empty Orion VII Next Generation (07.501) (semi-low floor, hybrid electric) M31 Bus With It's Lights: "TURNED-OFF" Going: "EASTBOUND-GETTING-OFF" The Transverse In: "SUMMER-2015!"
RTS Engines... Earlier models: 6V71 or 8V71 Detroit Diesel Newer models: 6V92 or 4V50 Detroit Diesel RTS Transmissions... Allison V730 Automatic or ZF 5HP-500 Automatic
I tried looking on google for a up to date roster it looks like up to 364 RTS buses left. But I'm sure more were retired since that update. So it may be 200 plus are still working. Thanks

do you happen have videos of the throggs neck buses like the 40 and the 42 and the manhattan express bus
+Kristy perez - I do, you'll have to search for them though. Search for Caitsith810 Bx42 or Caitsith810 Bx40 and you'll find some.

10 years later, New York feels weird without RTS

Not saying anything bad about them. I loved riding these busses and they were my favorite.

I don’t mean to get off on the wrong foot.

Kauan-From Brazil.
I miss those buses.......
Where I am from this usually designates which transit center or "garage" where that bus comes from.

The Buses Were Novabus RTS On The M66 & M72, & Novabus RTS With Hanover-LED-Signs On The M66!
3:45 what RTS was that?
There Always Has To Be One Lincoln In NYC.
at 1:27, what does the '023' mean in the bottom of the screen? I'm guessing it's not the route number... I'm from the UK so sorry for my ignorance!
L0rM The 023 stands for the number of times the bus has been on a round trip on the route.
The Metro_ologist
That clasic roll sign number really went well with the rts bus!
I miss when the M66 and M72 were purely RTS.

Nice to see some RTS buses. I wonder how many are left for the MTA ?
Well over 200, we have a lot left.
I tried looking on google for a up to date roster it looks like up to 364 RTS buses left. But I'm sure more were retired since that update. So it may be 200 plus are still working. Thanks
Correct Me If I'm Wrong. New Jersey Transit Could've Had Their RTS's On The Road Too. I Hate NABI's
I agree most were still in good shape at retirement.
+Tom H I Know. I Just Don't Understand The Concept Of Retiring Them So Early.
