Wow listen to that Bus! That engine oh wow I love those old Buses! I rode them on the Transit Museum "Rolling Down Ralph's Route" based on The Honeymooners tv show Ralph Kramden & The GOTHAM BUS COMPANY. This Bus was in reality was The FIFTH AVENUE COACH COMPANY
those two big things are fans for a novel a/c system on this bus, which was a demonstrator (hence the freaky paint scheme). i remember getting up early one sunday morning to ride this (i was 10 or 11 years old) and i knew it was running on the line that ran out to queens (a "boro" of nyc). i was excited by the novelty, but i gotta say, i loved the other regular busses where you could open the windows and smell the vibrancy of the city. the design was never bought for any nyc system.
washington d.c. metro wmata needs to bring back all dc transit buses wma, ab&w wvm buses and am general buses and gmc rts buses and put the new smartrip box on all of them and updates all the routes for dc md and va.
If the STM here in Montreal would do this with the five or so vintage models we have, then I would regain some respect for them. But until or if that happens, this can still kiss my white ass for those 29-000 series and up buses they got from stupid Novabus. Hey GM, how about building buses again, you were the best of the best hand s down.

How long are they gonna be out there in service?
The ironic thing is that the Empire Gold plate would look better on all of the vintage buses today (instead of the Empire White).
