I know now about Australia, but in the US, you have to do clinicals in long term care, different units in hospitals (ob/peds/med-surg) and peer phlebotomy. There is NO WAY she would complete nursing school here.
Shame on the commenter who has no empathy for the patient who had an overwhelming fear of needles and blood. Walk a mile in her shoes then you’ll see how frightening it is. Thank God the doctors understood and handled it beautifully.
Poor Michelle, I hated needle's for so long too. I'm a little better with getting blood tests & stuff now, I feel for her. Also to John, thank you for your service 🙏❤️

@@paulmcguigan1037 nursing isn’t for her because nursing entails all sorted and the main one is not having a phobia of blood I watch lots of medical programs on tv day and night and blood and needles don’t affect me what so ever but that girl needs a change career where it doesn’t entail needles or blood try teacher or something for her but definitely not any sort of nurse profession
I think she's brave. You'd be surprised how many people have a phobia of having needles or seeing their own blood but are amazing medical professionals otherwise. As a mother, I hate having any of that stuff happen to me, but I learned to do a lot of stuff for my son and be strong for him in hospital. I've met many nurses who have told me they couldn't cope with their own treatments but have no problem treating others. My partner is a dr. They have to learn to manage with blood and needles and a lot worse, too. It's not like they grew up doing those things.
@@fionamackie3357 I suppose that all makes sense now because of the way you explained it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! I’m a scared 😳 patient but when sepsis got me I went through a 7 hour surgery to remove my large bowel and had to learn to walk again. 2 years to the day post op i wonder how i got through it
You'd be surprised how many people have a phobia of their own blood and receiving needles but can happily manage other people's blood and giving injections/cannulating people. I've met many nurses who have told me the same over the course of my son's 20 years of multiple hospital visits. Just met one a few weeks ago, too, who I was apologising to for being a wuss when I had a few rather long episodes for skin cancer surgeries. I said the one near my ear I hated because though I couldn't feel it or see it, I could hear the scalpel cutting me. She said she can give needles and deal with blood all day but nearly passes out if she's on the receiving end. It's not uncommon.
I don't understand why they have to roll someone to check their back....when they know they're going to have them in the CT shortly and can have that info then.....I'm sure there's a reason....just doesn't seem necessary to risk moving them and put them through that pain.
Motorcyclist Allen probably had pain in upper back after being rolled onto his broken collarbone. Just a thought. Wouldn’t you be sore if they did that to you? Even the narrator said it would be very painful. 😒😒😔😔
Yeah she’s no horse trainer… We know how to tie a horse up and we have to be brave when training animals who weigh so much!! If she knew what she was doing as soon as the horse pulled away the tie would have fell away and her hand free. A horse can die if it can’t escape if needed. U never tie a horse where it’s unable to escape. Ridiculous and no school should ever hire her she wouldn’t be able to help other people’s children in an emergency. Surprised she made it this far with her horse.
You've never made a mistake when working with horses? Because I've been working with and riding horses for over twenty years now and I've made plenty of mistakes...accidents happen. There are knots that you are taught how to use when tying a horse up that makes it safe for the horse and easy for the horse to slip free if they pull back
……she doesn’t know what she’s doing around horses’. Doesn’t seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I’ve been riding since 8yo. Have never had a problem tying up a horse, if needed to do so. Can i ask why the bloody, gory part is blurred? It really takes away from the effect and those that watch sure shows should expect it. 🙂
Because UA-cam does not allow graphic violence in videos.@@cillag09
That’s true. UA-cam will not allow the blood and gore no matter what the videos are about.

Im a Registered Nurse in Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺. I love real life Medical Dramas.❤
I’m in Adelaide as well, have spent weeks in FMC in the past 3 years. We might not have a perfect health system but it’s miles better than USA and UK.

Compared to our healthcare here in the UK, these guys seriously go above and beyond - kudos to them!
Thanks for posting these episodes ❤

good luck with nursing if you can't tolerate needles and blood.
Because she’s the one hurt!!
But she’s definitely not on the right path
I've met a lot of people who can't cope with their own blood or needles but can manage perfectly well with others.
Please do not be so judgmental. She will get there. Also know she was speaking while heavily medicated. Be kind - or say nothing!
It’s the truth. If you can’t handle needles or blood you cannot nurse. You can tell by the way she is acting she can’t handle anyone’s blood.
She still can be a nurse 🙄
Right hand side, is a respect from all medical professionals ,I wish we offer them respect as well for all the good jobs they do for all of us.
That's the first time I heard about that! I have spent a lot of time in hospitals and I've had doctors approach me from all angles of the compass!!
That lady is a year away from 80. She looks amazing

And as the doctor said, many of them are uncomfortable with needles and blood, etc., but daily exposure helps you deal with that
Or.... here's a real novel idea for you... use a modicum of intelligence in choosing a career. If you can't handle it, gtfo.
Yep seen this one. But still appreciate the posting!

She is going to be so much use. Maybe washing bed pans and changing sheets^^+
I think Michelle should reconsider her career choice of nursing....
