Perfect solution for this giant mirror in our master bathroom! With no drawers, a build like this will give a home to many small items that are currently just floating around.
One of the biggest reasons I watch DIY videos is to see how people make spaces look better. I keep coming back to your channel because you do this kind of thing a lot. Thanks! You give me lots of ideas. :-D
April. I live in the UK and a few years ago my house was flooded and I had to discard all my tools. Out of work due to illness and no insurance, what followed was a very low period in my life. Recently I have started watching UA-cam and found your site purely by accident. Your enthusiasm has given me a kick up the proverbial and a new love for my old DIY hobby. For that I would like to thank you.Still ill so it will take a while to replace my tools but it's on my to do list. Had a look at the Triton looks really good but a bit out of my price range...(not a hint Triton managers; however, if you want to help a man out?)Also because I am relatively new to the You tube experience I have only just found out that when you watch a video it's a nice gesture, and polite, to also like it. I haven't been doing that, sorry, but I will when I re-watch them.
Greetings April, I cleaned my basement out that was in complete disarray for many years. Now that I have space other than 2 foot walking walking paths, I have been inspired to start some projects that I have longed to do for years. I first found your videos while searching for ideas of how to hang both hand and power tools. I have spent the whole morning watching ideas you share and now time to say thank you. You have encouraged me to do some of my wives honey do projects. Keep up the videos to encourage other procrastinates to get busy. Lord bless you, Jim
Wow, what a beautiful mirror that turned out to be! Excellent work, April. Wish my two bathrooms were big enough to do this for my wife. Thanks again for everything you share with us.
I really like the way you took a standard large builders mirror and made them look like two custom mirrors. Great job April! Maybe down a little more :)
You crack me up! I like how you totally kept this simple. A lot of us would totally take down the mirror, make a huge mess and try to start on a fresh wall but you kept it simple! For the jewelry, +Jay Bates made a cool jewelry cabinet with his wife for their bathroom a while back - might be worth checking out!
Hey I know this is an older project, but I'm a new subscriber. It's exactly the setup I was looking for in my master bath with one of those awful beast mirrors. My wife loves the look of this. I couldn't get her to picture what I was describing so this was really helpful. The only difference is that I'm going to remove that beast mirror, and replace with two smaller mirrors over each sink. Thanks, I love the channel
I just found your channel yesterday when looking for videos on restoring an antique rocking chair and have to say you are now my new favorite UA-camr. You are awesome! Keep up the great work!
You have become my Hero and motivation to be just like you. Inasmuch, as I want to do as you have done. I am at the beginning of what I hope to be a lifelong learning wood craftsman. I've discovered a hidden talent and love for the art of wood sculpting in me. But I know nothing, which doesn't bother me a bit. Just like I am determined to learn and now because of you share what I've learned and earned the right to share. Thank You. Sincerely. Al Dominguez, Arcadia, Calif
Great job April. I have a bathroom cabinet on the to do list. I especially like the Dado in the sheet goods then ripping it in two. Makes the line up perfect.
Fabulous job. Another A1 makeover. I was trying to identify the theme playing in the background for the first half of the video. I have heard it many times before, then realized it is Adam Booths theme on his Abom79 channel. What made it easy to identify was that I had marked your video to watch later and had Adams channel next in line.
whaaaat?! that light bulb is so coooool!! and I wish I knew about the hot glue when I framed my mirror, but now I know for my spare bathroom. awesome video, April!
Awesome project and video. I've had quite a few customers who wanted similar storage in their bathrooms. I like it. I'm going to have them watch this for inspiration.
Thanks April! This is the exact project my wife has been after me to do. I got the courage after watching your video, and even made my own cabinet. Thanks again!
Your project is exactly what I'm doing to my master bathroom. I have the same double vanity with huge single mirror covering the entire wall. I have a gfi receptacle in the middle of the Vanaty so had to attach the cabinet to the wall after I took the mirror down and cut it to fit each side before framing it out.
Whooooaaaa!!! OMG!!! I just happened to see this video at random. YOU are my hero! Cannot believe you know your way around a machine shop like that! So often I truly wish I had taken shop in high school! You Go, Girl!!!! You inspire me!
Those speakers are awesome. Perfect for task lighting in my shop AND dust won’t fall into the speakers. Thanks. Oh, and your project turned out really well, too!😉
options... you need to see all the options lol, how many times have I heard that while standing on a step ladder. I was quite taken aback by the difference it made to the bathroom, nice work and very creative.
Yet another great video, and judging by your reaction at the end, I think you enjoyed making it as much as we enjoyed watching the build, thanks for sharing.
I love your imagination April. Your a true optimist. And great out-take at the end. Congrats to hubby for being so patient. Keep up the great work and these wonderful videos. Thank you.
That turned out great. Totally different from the before. Great job, and you must have been happy with it, you don't dance for every project. Thanks, take care.
Love this build, I have the same huge mirror in my master. Definitely going to remember this when I get ready to update. The light speaker is way cool....love my tunes!!! Great job!!!
Another great project! The wife and I watched it this morning and both said "WE NEED TO DO THIS!" Then we cracked up with the bonus footage at the end where you were having your husband move the light up/down. Happens all the time in our house. I'd love to see video (or at least a description) of how you went from one central light fixture to two fixtures centered over the "new" mirrors.
I have wondered how I could divide up the generic large mirror in our master bath. This idea is perfect! Great job, April, and hello from a fan right down the road in Tyler, Texas!
Thank you soooo much for doing this... My mom has been wanting something exactly like this in her bathroom, and with a little alterations this will work in my bathroom as well. I just got a table saw for christmas and now I have a project to use this on. Love your videos!!!
: ) Oh good, I'm glad it helps. There are other methods out there as far as attaching the frame to the mirror, if you wanted to look around and see which option you like best.
Ok, April you are amazing!! I have been following you for a little while now and I LOVE everything you do! Thank you so much for inspiring me! This is an amazing project, and the light fixture speakers...what?! I SO have to get some! Great job!
Great refurb of the big mirror. Much more useful and attractive. And thanks for going to the trouble to draw up plans. All ideas go into my files for future consideration.
I just framed my bathroom mirror too. Wish I would have put in the center storage, looks a lot better with. I wouldn't worry about drawer sliders as light as they are. Good job.
April that design is brilliant! Loved how that turned out by splitting the mirror and adding the two frames. Those light speaker thingies are awesome I want a pair now! Plus I knew this was going to be good when you started with a 2x4! :)
April I have done a similar project before and found that double sided 3M automotive tape works amazing to hold wood molding onto the mirror. The best part is you can remove it with dental floss if you mess up or want to make a change. Construction adhesive is not as forgiving.
+April Wilkerson completely understand. They use the same tape to hold automotive trim and if you think about the extreme temps and weather your car goes through, it's more than strong enough. Keep making videos your are doing great.
Dance moves are a key component of woodworking. The new lights seem to shine light at a fairly steep angle. Do they cast a shadow on your face? Does it have an affect on shaving or doing make-up?
Nice remodel there, ponytail! It's cool how you installed your lights with just vocal commands! ;-) Center piece turned out perfect. Excellent construction, April. Troy
That was a very good redo! My bathroom is very close to yours. As for the lights... I am still grasping that concept! Wild stuff going on out there. Just WHAT will they invent next! I enjoy your videos and your editing! Thanks for posting! ~Suzanne
This is perfect!!! Our bathroom is just like that and it is on my to do list to do a makeover like this exactly. With your plans it will be definitely doable. Thanks for sharing :)
That project turned out very nice April. Well done. What is with these folks giving so many thumbs down as of late? Starting to see a lot of that on folks videos.Anyway, as always thanks for sharing.
With all of your nice tools have you considered upgrading your miter fence on your table saw? I I had enough of mine and got an Incra... Love it!!! Perfect repeatable cuts every time. Of course there are other brands out there that are probably just as good, maybe even better. Nice project!!!
April I dig that you get this stuff, however one other thing you should fix is the crown. Hit it with a compound cut so the that trim piece goes up and out not just up. dfw crown does a good job showing how to instal crown moldings and other finishes.
looks awesome, great job! wow those speakers look great! nice to see technology combining like that...reminds me of the new AA batteries that recharge via usb.
i watch a lot of your videos. I build cabinets, do finish carpentry, and woodwork. Yet, I always learn something from you. Unfortunately, I cant figure out what a table sawl is? haha
"You just don't know all the options until you see all the options." Truer DIY words were never spoken. Nice job!
; ) Haha, he didn't think so.

My wife and I are framing our mirrors in our restroom this coming weekend. We are new to this but excited. We enjoy your videos, thank you.
Wow, what a beautiful mirror that turned out to be! Excellent work, April. Wish my two bathrooms were big enough to do this for my wife. Thanks again for everything you share with us.
What a difference, looks like two different bathrooms. A job well done April. Thumbs-Up!!
what a unique way to cover up the old giant mirror without the hassle of cutting or removing it. Great stuff
I really like the way you took a standard large builders mirror and made them look like two custom mirrors. Great job April! Maybe down a little more :)

That makeover made that mirror space very functional and something I'm sure to consider when doing my own bathroom makeover, thanks for sharing.

Right!? I'm in love with the bulbs. Hot glue is quickly becoming a good friend, it has a ton of good uses. : ) Thanks Amanda!
Awesome project and video. I've had quite a few customers who wanted similar storage in their bathrooms. I like it. I'm going to have them watch this for inspiration.

Looks stunning April. I would have totally started down the route of cutting the mirror in two. Your way is so much better!
: ) Thank you. No need to cut it in half when you can just cover it up.
Music and light all in one Nice touch. Project came out really cool
YES! and YES! Such a beautiful project! The hot glue was perfect because construction adhesive seems to take FOREVER to dry!
Yes it does, and I'm impatient. : )
Great job. I like the way you approach every project. And the bulbs are sooooo cool ! Thanks for sharing
: ) Thank you.
Those speakers are awesome. Perfect for task lighting in my shop AND dust won’t fall into the speakers. Thanks.
Oh, and your project turned out really well, too!😉
Awesome video, very smart covering up the mirror instead of busting it out to put new ones in...Love the final product!
: ) Thanks!
Great idea April, I framed out a mirror that size and made into a floor standing full size mirror. One of my favorite furniture pieces I've made :)
options... you need to see all the options lol, how many times have I heard that while standing on a step ladder. I was quite taken aback by the difference it made to the bathroom, nice work and very creative.

haha yes my husband is patient with me. I'm glad you are enjoying my videos. : )
I agree, changed the look of it a lot - good job girl!
Thanks Nick!
That turned out great. Totally different from the before. Great job, and you must have been happy with it, you don't dance for every project. Thanks, take care.

Great video!! Love your enthusiasm! Never heard of bulbs that could do that. What a fantastic idea!
Agreed! Those bulbs have become my new favorite things.
Cool project April. That Speaker light thing is Awesome
Thanks Mike. Yeah, those speakers are my new favorite thing.
Thank you soooo much for doing this... My mom has been wanting something exactly like this in her bathroom, and with a little alterations this will work in my bathroom as well. I just got a table saw for christmas and now I have a project to use this on. Love your videos!!!
: ) That's great to hear. Congrats on the new tool!
+April Wilkerson This and a barn door for my mom's bedroom is on the list... door opening is 70 inches though. :(
clever way to make a updated look for the large mirror...extra storage in the bathroom is always great :)
Boy what a difference it looks great. Your skills improve with every project.
Thanks Eric. : )
+April Wilkerson where are you from
The wife was looking at the final results of this video and now has added to my to-do-list. Thanks April! Great job btw.
; ) hehehe, you're welcome.
Heck of a change. Very nice. Getting ready to make big changes in our bathroom here shortly. Thanks for sharing.
: ) Thanks Tom
Great upgrade to your bathroom. I too have the giant plain mirror in my bathroom. Thanks for the idea on how to spice it up!
Nice video as always. Loved the dance moves....something one doesn't see too often in DIY videos. :)
awesome creativity in using the large mirror instead of removing it and starting over. very nice.
Yeah no need to! Mirrors are a pain to remove but they are also expensive.
Wow! What a difference that made. Looks awesome.
Yours is the second Sengled-sponsored video I watched today, next to Steve's.
+Dennis Padul Yes... I think it's a conspiracy... lol
So what is so earn money
been wanting to frame my bathroom mirrors forever, thanks for this April! Very educational.
: ) Oh good, I'm glad it helps. There are other methods out there as far as attaching the frame to the mirror, if you wanted to look around and see which option you like best.
+April Wilkerson will do as well :-) thanks
An amazing bathroom transformation! Love it. And that bulb ...gota get some myself.
Looks awesome! My wife wants me to do the same thing now. And put lighting in the center shelving. 😊
Like an LED strip or something? Could hide them on the inside of the face framing.
Great video again April. I love the way you make the stuff so accessible. But those globe/speakers are a great touch. I feel a purchase coming on :)
Nice build April keep up the great work Mate!
YOU ROCKED IT! NICE WORK TOOL DIVA!
Ok, April you are amazing!! I have been following you for a little while now and I LOVE everything you do! Thank you so much for inspiring me! This is an amazing project, and the light fixture speakers...what?! I SO have to get some! Great job!
Great up grade April - I really like the contrast of the stain and paint.
Thanks Tommy, I kept going back and forth on painting the unit white or staining it like the frames. I'm glad I went with paint.
It looks awesome :-)
Nice project. I like the speaker bulbs definitely looking into them.
Great refurb of the big mirror. Much more useful and attractive. And thanks for going to the trouble to draw up plans. All ideas go into my files for future consideration.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it
I just framed my bathroom mirror too. Wish I would have put in the center storage, looks a lot better with. I wouldn't worry about drawer sliders as light as they are. Good job.
You've helped remind me why I love woodworking. Thank you.☺
April that design is brilliant! Loved how that turned out by splitting the mirror and adding the two frames. Those light speaker thingies are awesome I want a pair now! Plus I knew this was going to be good when you started with a 2x4! :)
Haha, I do love 2x4s. Thank you I'm glad you like it!
Nice work. great idea to split the two and then add storage in the middle!
April I have done a similar project before and found that double sided 3M automotive tape works amazing to hold wood molding onto the mirror. The best part is you can remove it with dental floss if you mess up or want to make a change. Construction adhesive is not as forgiving.
I looked into tape, but was worried about it being in a bathroom around so much moisture.
+April Wilkerson completely understand. They use the same tape to hold automotive trim and if you think about the extreme temps and weather your car goes through, it's more than strong enough. Keep making videos your are doing great.
Dance moves are a key component of woodworking.

I think so too. ; )
I don't think the new lights create any sort of problem, I really like them!
I was thinking the same thing. It looks a bit dark in there and might cast some shadows. You could re-paint a lighter color to make it brighter.
Nice remodel there, ponytail! It's cool how you installed your lights with just vocal commands! ;-) Center piece turned out perfect. Excellent construction, April. Troy
If only everything were done with simple vocal commands! haha. Thanks Troy
+April Wilkerson ;-)
outstanding job.my wife really likes it. she said it is too bad our bathroom mirror isn't wide enough for something like this.
That was a very good redo! My bathroom is very close to yours. As for the lights... I am still grasping that concept! Wild stuff going on out there. Just WHAT will they invent next! I enjoy your videos and your editing! Thanks for posting! ~Suzanne
Great Job Miss April, that came out really cool
HI, It turned out great, I love that style. Light bulbs with bluetooth inside?? What? I hope I will find them here in Europe. Cool!
Ciao April!
They are awesome, I hope you can find them as well!
I made a similar project but wished I had seen your hot glue idea first as it would have save me alot of frustration. Thank you for the tip.
What a drastic change, I love it.
: ) Thanks!
yes it looks like a totally different bathroom and those lights are awesome...
great job april i like that white cubby/cabinet u added..and that bulb is pretty cool too!have to look into that for the shop;)have a good one!!
Great video. You always have so much energy. I'm excited to see what project you come up with next.
Very cool. I was impressed with your ending project. Keep the videos and great ideas coming!
Darn it April, that is a project that has been on my To Do list for years. You are making me look bad... lol. Great job.
: ) Haha, well now you don't have a reason for not doing it!
Great job! My master bath is almost identical and I'm going to incorporate most of this into mine!
Great job.Very inventive and makes a huge difference
: ) Thank you
What great idea. Nice job. Two thumbs up. Thanks for sharing.
I've been wanting to something in my bathroom which has a similar design. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
This is perfect!!! Our bathroom is just like that and it is on my to do list to do a makeover like this exactly. With your plans it will be definitely doable. Thanks for sharing :)

Nice project!!!
That PL adhesive is good stuff. Hot glue, sounds better than trying to tape!
That's a great makeover! Before look so dull and bland, after, it more glamorous and better use. Well done :)
You are awesome! I love your channel! Wish I could use the miter and circular saw like you do. I am terrified by their loud sound very intimidating!
that was a really cool project, it came out top notch!
: ) Thank you
April I dig that you get this stuff, however one other thing you should fix is the crown. Hit it with a compound cut so the that trim piece goes up and out not just up. dfw crown does a good job showing how to instal crown moldings and other finishes.
Ya couldn't agree more his videos are great and good for homeowners to see
Looks really good. Speaker light bulbs?! Get outta town! Those look cool
Yes, they are amazing. They are all over my house so the music never stops.
looks awesome, great job!
wow those speakers look great! nice to see technology combining like that...reminds me of the new AA batteries that recharge via usb.
I love your videos you really motivated me to do some home projects!!👍👍👍👍
Awesome job April! We having been thinking about doing something similar in our master bathroom. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Mike. : )
Another incredible job, Miss April!
@ 0:36 - Texan + sawdust on the floor = yep, someone's gonna be dancin'. :)
Blessings to you n yours.
Awesome project, video, and commentary! BUT I NEED THOSE BULBS
I love your work. excellent job. greetings from Croatia!
I've never seem someone add moulding on top of moulding before. It sounded very odd, but that finished result looks fantastic. Thanks for the idea.
: ) Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It just jazzed it up a bit more.
Once again great project. my wife loves it.
: ) haha that's great.
i watch a lot of your videos. I build cabinets, do finish carpentry, and woodwork. Yet, I always learn something from you. Unfortunately, I cant figure out what a table sawl is? haha
Outstanding as usual April.
