INAV 4.1 fully supports the HDZero Canvas Mode to have all the possible OSD elements. In other words: full OSD integration of HDZero digital FPV and INAV. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to configure HDZero and INAV to enable the Canvas Mode.

I have a good portion of my usual OSD items displayed. They are not stable and the update is very delayed. Also I haven't been able to get the stick VTX menu commands nor Smart audio to work. FC Matek F405SE and MiniTE, INAV 5.0, Matek ELRS, RadioMaster T16S w/Happy model ELRS module. The OSD update lags making the Artificial Horizon frustrating to watch. I'm hanging in there an asking for support from the community, Discord, HDZero and the increasing YT creators excited about it. In the meantime it is a bench test setup and I continue to fly a pretty good analog sub 250 NanoGoblin and 5in. Quad to stay active. Thank you and all the INAV developers for making this exciting slice of the hobby safe and repeatable!

Is there some method by which to increase the update rate of the OSD? There's an awful lot of latency and failures to update. It's often as slow as 2 seconds behind.
Update: I'm still new to iNav, and learned that Smartaudio isn't supported at all for controlling HDZero units. After disabling it, the OSD is vastly more responsive.

It's not the canvas mode. It was explained in one of the latest videos of JB fpv news - though the MSP hdzero read the values of the original osd but can not draw directly. Canvas mode will be implemented in hdzero goggles due to the better soc
With all respect to JB, only because JB says something, it does not mean it's true. If you would spend at second at the implementation, you would notice that it's not MSP reading anything but FC putting characters in places. Ergo, Canvas mode aka DisplayPort mode
@@FPVUniversity I didn't say that JB said that but it was mentioned on the fpv news. Also I said that hdzero - through MSP - read the values.

I've seen YT examples, I've read it works. No joy here as yet via 4.1 or 5.1 using Matel F405SE and F405miniTE. A few have shown it can work in Arduwhatever. I will give that a shot. Now Beta flight has it as a preset and all is working as it should there. Fine, but when will it run on my wings...Never. If someone has a working INAV plane or quad that is successfully running INAV, please share your diff so that I might compare and find my stupidity. Thank you for your consideration.

Regarding Step #0 (video receiving/viewing options).
I don't have FatShark goggles, or HDZero hardware. Interested in experimenting using with either an external monitor, or DJI goggles (which lacks canvas mode). Also could serve for workbench setup, testing.
Any minimal hardware setup reconditions?

My flight board name is ( IFLIGHT_F745_AIO, version: 67512b06, date: 2021-02-08T08:35:22Z )
So how to get it on the board name in INAV firmware flashing ?????

Just a heads up. HDZero does not use "canvas mode"
It uses MSP displayport
These are 2 completly different features. 1 uses characters only and the other uses pixels, shapes and vectors.
So another useless video spreading false information 🤷🏻♂️
