Definitely need to get one. Nice to see you finally were able to get a pair of goggles. Going from vrx to the goggles made all the difference for me. Haven't really flown my dji since
Once my PR goes through.... you can just simply connect the cable to the goggles and select which firmware you want to install. The process is now much more straightforward and user friendly. Now if you have the WiFi module the goggles and connect it to an access point.... the goggles will automatically download the latest firmware for you. But I agree this dongle is still a must have!
I saw this and I am VERY much looking forward to that getting merged :) I really appreciate all the effort you and the open source devs have put into to making the whole process progressively better.
Thanks for the tutorial @BaconNinjaFPV!! Quick question as I am brand new to custom builds. Do I need the antenna connected if I am updating the firmware, with the HDZero Programmer and my computer, on a VTX that is loose on my desk...just out of the box? I wasn't sure if the programmer via USB turns on the same circuitry as the FC via a LIPO.
I used this to unlock my v2, but that is interesting! I will have to check it out on the next v2 that I build a quad with and see if I run into any issues that didn't happen my first few times.
Yes my V2 will not unlock using usb tool until I tried a few times. I had to unlock it and it will blink 3 times as directions say when repowered but don’t repower it again until you reflash with the latest firmware. So flash it with unlock firmware with usb, power it up and it’ll blink 3 times in a few seconds, flash with latest firmware before powering it up the second time after it blinked 3 times. I have noticed when I get a new version of a HDZero vtx the programmer updates a few times. The v2 FS vtx wasn’t even in the usb menu until I flashed it a few times??
+1👍 💪 the poo poo part is that the repo is for Windows only. htat said there is a fork, not up to date for Linux. but really why ignore Linux users knowing 99% of that project is linux based.
This dongle makes it so much better.
Now we just need those over the air updates straight from the goggles to the VTX! ...lemme hold my breath, lol

Love your channel by the way. Excellent work!
That's some great news, dude! 😃
Thanks a bunch for the tutorial!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That dongle was so helpful. Using latest programmer software was only way I was able to update the Foxeer race vtx.
Nice to see you have HD Zero goggles again!
Nice! Good info to know, thanks.
Now we justh have to wait for them to come back into stock at most places, lol.
Do I need to unlock the Freestyle vtx evrytime I update the firmware
No you sure don't, it will stay unlocked after the process has been gone through successfully once :)
Thank you sir@@BaconNinjaFPV
Totally agree the goggles or VRX should come with that cable!!!!

Sadly not for mac users, but still a very informative video, my goto guy for HDzero, thank you.
Still no way to make it work on mac?
Unfortunately no Mac support...
yeah that is a very unfortunate reality :(
