    I REALLY enjoy your videos. I’ve tried with both spinning and fly rods on my local river and have had a couple on but they broke me off. I’m still new to the steelhead adventure and can’t wait to land a nice one. Your videos encourage me to keep trying.

    Funny. Nick was talking about how when you bobber is down below you, you need to reel in and set the hook above the head, but his bobber goes down and he sets it to the left side and misses as he was telling everyone what not to do. Instinct took over so does he really practice what he preaches? I say not. Lol

    Would your bead setup work in a larger area like the columbia river or Snake River in Southeast Washington area? It's mainly shrimp or eggs here.

      Okuma guide selected pro 9' foot to 9'8" rod is very good, paried with okuma ceymar series 3000 or 4000.

    Those 20mm Beads have a big profile…with water conditions being the way they were, those fish were moving, and aggressive…had you run bait with a pegged Okie or Corky ahead of it, or even a #6 or #8 Spin n Glo spinning on a couple 4mm plastic beads, the bait may have out fished the beads

    • @Elparquito
      @Elparquito 9 місяців тому

      Absolutely this. Not a fair competition, IMO. If anything, they should have been dragging rags with sandshrimp. Bump up the bait profile to match the water conditions.

      @@AddictedFishing what is the right way to bobber dogging? I don’t know the difference on how to properly fish using bobber dogging. Isn’t it kind of the same with regular float fishing though? Are you dragging the bottom?
      Any help appreciated! Maybe a video on how to properly bobber dogging from bank 😊

    Great video as always but my main interest would be buying that awesome deep rubber net. That would be great for large fish. If anyone knows where they are please write back. Love the channel and love supporting you guys

    I live in the PNW and have property out Lake Quinault on the river and also Grays River. I’ve never had anyone to teach me to fish and now I want to go and give it a go! Do you guys recommend any reel/pole combo?

      I like a 10'6 rod and 3500 series spinning reel. Get a reel with a fast pickup for float fishing. For spoons and spinners snag an 8 ft medium rod and maybe a 2500 reel.

    Many times especially with clearer water than what you’re fishing here, I have had a bead totally out fish a cluster of eggs. I remember one instance where I was rowing and a great friend of mine was in the front of the boat and casting through the run first, I hooked 9 steelhead before he hooked one. He was using cluster of eggs and I was on a bead. This happened a lot, especially in water a bit clearer to very clear water.

  • @brianjohnston4207
    @brianjohnston4207 Місяць тому

    I was fishing Coho with beads all of October next to guys using eggs. We were all float fishing and it seemed to favor the eggs, however we were all catching enough fish to pick and choose the ones we wanted to bonk.
    I think eggs do better, buti like the bead better because you can use a bead for multiple fish and hundreds of casts and you dont have to cure, store and pack eggs around.
    Im not writing eggs off though. I plan on keeping some on hand.

    Damn that’s rough. I already spend way too much on fishing 😂 can’t justify 10 bucks a month on something I can find out for free with a little bit of extra work. Looks cool just don’t think it’s practical for sport fisherman at that price

    don't lift on the strike w/ beads,sweep low and downstream,let the current help you tuck it into the scissors,lifting throws slack and they get off
