- A quick comparison on Tama’s double bass pedals.
Dyna-Sync VS Speedcobra:
The dyna sync feel more relaxed and will build more muscle in the legs resulting in improved playing over time.
The Speedcobra feel more loose and quick sometimes they get out of control and need to managed by controlling the settings more as time moves on.
The verdict:
DYNA-SYNC. They are more lightweight and are incredibly more reinforced to last light years compared to the Speedcobra. These pedals will give back more resulting in a everlasting bond with ya feet.
My wife heard me watching this video & said, "Is that Adam Sandler the Waterboy making a video?" lol
One thing he definitely neglected to mention is that the Dyna Sync pedal is “direct drive”; meaning instead of a chain or belt connecting pedal to beater, it’s a solid piece of manufactured aluminum.
This in theory reduces any kind of kinetic lag that you would find in a chain or belt drive wherein you lose a tad bit of pedal control/feel in the transfer of energy through many moving parts versus a solid connection. Honestly the amount you gain or lose there is probably negligible, but you definitely feel the additional control in a direct drive mechanism as it feels a bit “snappier” in it’s motions. That can lead to better muscle memory, better timing, tighter control and execution in the long run.
Listening to this review with my eyes closed this is what comes to mind: A Muppet Show character, or a drunken human, chewing Skoal, cigarette dangling from one corner of his mouth, topless with a big hairy belly hanging over the waistline, 5 o’ clock shade, greasy wavy hair, empty beer cans everywhere, plumber’s crack ready to go.
Then, the demonstration: I’m waiting for the sounds of a bass drum, but all I hear is
a typewriter.
:,(
Please, don’t be sad. My comment is a joke. In all seriousness, thanks for the video. My experience with direct drive pedals is a gain in responsiveness but a loss in power. Is that your experience as well?
This guy should be a voice actor
I like my dyna syncs better than any other pedal I’ve had
are dyna long boards same with speed cobra?
Yes.
You definitely sound like you play better with the speed cobra's and I have that same exact driveshaft✌
Norman Wilmoth see that’s part of the problem the speed cobra limit the drummer of performing as good as the dyna-syncs would allow the drummer to play.
It's kinda unfair to compare it tbh
I'm sure he played the Speed Cobra AT LEAST for a good 2 or 3 years (if not more), and to compare it to a double pedal that he "just" got out of the box, it's not fair
are there different models of this shaft that is compatible with tama? or you can choose what ever shaft Trick is offering?
foosball is of the devil
So are girls and school!
I just wish a real drummer would have given this review instead of a Skoal indorser.
More like a wannabe Skoal endorser. Lol when I heard endorsed by Trick, I was like, okay... Doesn't help the Tama comparison... But the dude should be decent... Welp, nevermind.
😂😂😂😂
Man just let him have his fun
Why do most replace the shaft with Trick ones? the default it came with is of no good is it?
There’s too much “play” in the stock one.
The Trick drive shaft is THAT good! Most drive shafts, even top of the line brands, have lag in the slave pedal. Another benefit of the Trick, it's slightly longer which benefits people that place the slave pedal on the outside of the hi hat. It's definitely worth the investment.
you've got the left beater closer to the head on the dynasync and the right beater closer on the speed cobra
Had the opportunity to play the iron cobra, the speed cobra and the dyna sync. Liked Iron and Dyna the best. They had the best feel for me. The speed cobra were like melted butter…. Got myself the dynas to check them out for a month now and Test around if they suit me well. If not im am going to get me the good old iron cobras with the power glide💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Make sure to upgrade the driveshaft. It’s makes a world of difference 🥰
@@kadhir12 I’ll think about it as soon as I got used to them :)
@@kadhir12 WITH WHAT?
The “Trick” driveshaft is the one.
One year later, I am just curious to know what you decided to do... Did you stay with Dyna sync or went with old iron cobra power glide?
I have used numerous pedals and the dyna sync pedals are awesome but the linkage on the doubles are no good I replaced them with the Trick linkage holy shit what a difference
I’ve had speed cobras for like 9 years, just went to the dyna syncs after never playing direct drives before, can hardly go passed 160bpm without falling apart and I’m normally easily able to go above 200bpm
Does it just take a while
To get used to them?
Im planning to go to direct drive pedals and I heard it takes some time to get used to that feel. Im on a chain and it has some give and latency so it will get better tho
Probably you didn’t adjust it right for your style of playing. Difference in feel should be minimal once you dial it in.
Try adding performance oil/grease to the bearings
can you review these two against a Yamaha KP9s?
Is this review available in English?
Negative
So which one is better for play fast around 200 bpm - 230 bpm ?

Neither go for the axis a longboards. I have a pair of axis and they are the best that you could buy.
@@l_Knights_l “Neither, go with the Axis.” It depends on the drummer playing the pedals so to say “neither” can reach those speeds is just plain ignorant. What might feel like an awesome pedal they are comfortable going fast with for one drummer might not be the same for another. Axis is a great brand with great pedals but so is Trick, Tama, Pearl, DW, Sonor, Yamaha, etc. Some of the fastest most technical drummers like
John Longstreth of ORIGIN
Spencer Prewitt of ARCHSPIRE
LORD Marco of RINGS OF 🪐
Dave McGraw of CATTLE DECAPITATION
Flo Mourner of CRYPTOPSY
and many more use other brands besides Axis so by your logic these drummers could go 230+bpm ONLY if they had Axis. Think 🤔 before you speak 🗣. It helps.
It was a suggestion, I didn't know people would get there tootsies in knots.
Dynas for sure
Billy Madison reviews the TAMA Dyna Sync and Speedcobra double bass pedals
Who?
That bass drum it’s gretsch USA custom???
You bet your sweet ass it is! ❤️
He sounds like dimebag
He ain’t lying bout sat Trick Drive Shaft y’all. Just be careful you don’t go and spend almost 1000.00 on a Trick double pedal(like I did 3 days ago and am sending it back).
Hello, may I ask why you are sending the trick peddles back? I am torn between trick and Dina sync and actually the speed cobras thank you
@@ajhammer71 with all the adjustments you can make on the Trick pedals, one thing-that I think is important for sound consistency-is you can’t move the beaters so that they are in the center of the bass drum head. But you can do this with Tama for half the price of Trick.
You think Dana tama pedals are better than axis?
Hello, is that you Jack Black? or maybe Adam Sandler?
Definitely sounds like Adam Sandler
@@lincolnw.9248 I'm getting a 'Stephen Root on News Radio' vibe here...
Jajajaja. Love it dude
is that you buddy guy
Welp.... this was absolutely no help at all.
sounds u not familiar to kick it
Direct drive only really matters after you brake past 250-300 bpm on your pedal.
and why would you ever wanna do that? Sound like a machine gun? That has Nothing to do with music.
Why do you put on a little character and speak in a cartoon voice?
why are you talking like this?
What the hell did I waste about 3 minutes trying to watch?? This is some real garbage, and it shouldn’t come up in searches, at all, ever, for any reasons. 😀
Then you make a review geez grandma
Sounds drunken.
I thought this was a black guy
Yeah, me too. That's because of the cowboy speech style.
Looks like you just wanted to justify your purchase of dyna-sync by shit-talking speed cobra 😆😆
I think speed cobra suits you more because with dyna-sync you were double touching the bass head pretty heavily 😅
Gotta have that power
