Sidney Baker-Green nah not much, I played with this feature a little bit but I’ve been busy with a lot of other things haven’t had much time to sit down and mess with video editing :/
I explained what each node does in the setup and even why you connect them that way right after. Text appears over each node saying what it does and what it's for.
@@sidneybakergreen I think it's because we don't know why you connect the blue triangles? The tutorials great and it's not a need to know but it would be an interesting thing to find out so we could experiment :) (The tutorial is sick though my new video looks miles better after doing it in resolve instead of premiere so thankyou
If you expect pin point details in a 7 minute tutorial you are crazy. This is more than enough for an introduction to a more complex process. Even if you have question at least ask in a more respectful way. The guy took time out of his day to make a quick tutorial. A little more respect would be nice.
Holy shit, thank you so much! This has just made it so quick, super easy and I am finally getting a handle on this colour grading thing. Still not great, I uploaded a hugely blue video today! (but we live and we learn) Thank you!

grateful for your video here. I have a question, it's probably very simple but I can't figure it out- when you drag the specific titles like ''exposure', 'skin tones' to the nodes from the extreme left side, where do you find them?
Love it, man. I just subscribed. I just recently switched over to DaVinci Resolve from Premiere and this was exactly the video I was looking for. Thanks!
Amazing job and perfect length video without taking 5 minutes to explain 1 thing. If I need more detail then I go looking for it. That is one thing I've found frustrating about researching color grading is that every video is 20+ minutes long. lol I just want the simple straight to the point and you delivered. Thank you! Hello and congratulations on your work. Can you tell me if Da Vinci Studio 16 or Resolve can work RAF files? (They are the RAW compressed files of Fuji cameras). Or do you know a converter that can convert RAF files to RAW files that Da Vinci can manage? Thank you very much. Hello
This was so helpful to just knock out a color treatment in about 3 minutes. I stopped at the color grade because for my log footage, I just needed to work with exposure and skin tones. Excellent tutorial.
Corrector nodes is a node for standard corrections. A parallel node is a corrector node but think of it as another layer on top of your correction in Photoshop
I probably should make a video on it but for example if I was to do my skin qualification in a correct or note but then I want to change something else and that node it would mess up my qualification whereas if I use the parallel mode it wouldn't mess up my qualification
My partner just started learning Davinci Resolve. There are hundreds of tutorials out there but you have a way of explaining things clearly and there's something about that makes you a 'likeable mentor'. Will you be posting more DaVinci Tutorials? @@sidneybakergreen you were not talking fast. Some talk fast that they forget they have viewers who sometimes get lost. I can't wait for the next video.
Same techniques apply. There is no hack to edit a full video, each clip is gonna take time, and patience. And it was not a still image, it was a video clip. You should always select a frame you want to grade.
Awesome overview, even for a beginner. But obviously not a beginner's tutorial. Wish you would do a longer slower beginner's tutorial for lesser mortals like me who are just starting out. I'm sure there are many available - but liked this so much that I'd rather learn from you!
I will say, these aren't even advanced corrections when it comes to resolve, this is as beginner it gets for the industry standard program; however, my newer tutorials are longer.

Hey guys. Sidney retain the highlights always at the 768 bar in the Scopes/Waveform. Is this more for personal taste or does this depend on the footage (8/10bit)?
Thanks for your tutorial! I got a question though. Lets say you have over different 30 clips of the same setting and i want to apply the same effect to every clip. Do I have to create new serial, corrector, and mixer for every clip?
You can just copy grade prior, and re key correctly, but a teal orange grade is not for everything. Sometimes, natural is good too and overlooked! Just depends on the mood.
Nope you turn it off after you have made your skin tone corrections. The power window is just used to isolate information in the vectorscope in this case
