500r does 0-60 in 4.5s. Iv a 2018 honda 500r. I love the bike. Its my first here in the UK. I started out on a 600cc. The 500r is very capable and can sit with cars on the freeway or motorway at 90mph with easy in 6th and still pull away without dropping a gear. It flat lines at 115mph. It's a fantastic learner bike.
To me it is not a learner bike. Maybe it is my last choice of motorcycle. The ultimate commuter which give me everything I want. It is light enough, fast enough, and the fuel economy is unbelievable. I've owned a CB150R ExMotion, which is too slow, then I sold it and bought an used CB650R. And I immediately found that the heavy 4-inline bike is just very uncomfortable when I riding in the street. Sold it again. Then I buy a brand new 2022 CB500F. Believe me, it makes me smile everytime I take a ride.
I feel like a lot of riders view on fast is skewed to be quicker much more then car guys, 0-100 in low 5s isn't slow car wide but agreeable it isn't considered still quick, awesome beginner speeds!
@@joebone3151 not for a lot of bikers man, 5s to many riders is pitifully slow, unless it's in the 3s range many what even consider it fast, but 3s for a lot of car guys it considered really fast
I get shocked when i hear people say 500cc bikes ain't fast, even My CBR250R is able to over take most cars and bikes on highways, probably people should be getting bikes with jet engines to satisfy their fast or speed fantasies.
When it comes to making content people would rather watch content about Lamborghinis and Ferraris rather than Honda civics. This is why I upgraded from a 500cc to a 1200.
Feel the exact same, I have a 2012 cbr250r and it plays well on the highway. Never struggled unless I was sitting at 140km/h+. Peoples views are skewed by the 1000cc squids posting videos cutting up traffic
If you want something around 3 seconds then go up above the 800cc mark the CB 500 is a great bike at a very reasonable cost and fast enough to get you out and into trouble
Just took it off so the bike is louder to make other drivers aware that I’m on the road. I didn’t purchase an exhaust because this bike was a short term bike just to learn how to ride safely. I didn’t want to dump money into something I wasn’t going to keep. Also I didn’t know it hinders the performance! Thank you for letting me know
6800 is the max torque, and 8600 is the max hp. You wanna shift at max torque up until 2nd and max hp 3rd onwards. It will pull, trust me, my 500r can pull at 4th gear, although not that fast but it can go from 60 to 120kph in less than 3 seconds
R3 is perfect for beginners. It'll do enough for street riding and GREAT on track, especially tight tracks. Ninja 400 is quick for street use, i ran a hellcat on the dig, it eventually caught up. I weigh 140lbs. On track, 400 feels heavier than R3 around the corners. 500r is like the ninja400 on the street but also like 400 on track, however, slightly heftier feeling in corners. Im a fan of low CC bikes lol. This is just my personal opinion on street and track for those 3 bikes.
Parallel Twin…it’s about the torque ….it won’t do big revs!…if you want the speed then the higher revs/power band of a 4 cylinder like the CBR650R will give that extra pull/acceleration 👍
aw i think you are wrong bro im sure this bike can go faster you accelerate like my 125. this bike will do 60 in second gear no? 😂 you need to turn the throttle lol read owners manual bro peak torque will be at higher than 6k or wherever u say its dying - ur shifting up too early man

Yes it is a perfect learning bike and the ride height is amazing!!!
People estimate it can truly hit 118 mph. With full exhaust and ecu flash 120+
@@joebone3151 it can hit 125 fully unrestricted. Stock is 110-115. Most of the speedos are off some of them say 130 when its going 120

5 seconds will always be fast car or bike we only really have gone faster in the last 15 years

On streets? its enough. On track? you'd be surprised
I Like this guy

So so true thank you for the comment that’s a great point
Keep in mind there are 400 hp cars that do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds . This is a 2 cylinder bike . It's fast enough.
I rode a Harley for 25 years so it is my starter bike on rockets but I like it❤
Super cool bike..
Thank you! It’s a great starter bike!!!
🔥🔥
Yes sir!!!!!
Hey man, why are you driving without exhaust? you lose performance like that, specially at high rpms, not the best way to test bike acceleration...

@@kjslayz5097 no exhaust = that's why you have no power in 4th and 5th gears.

Yes sir!
This bike is not a Super Bike. So assessment is fair. Lol, Snoopy is freezing🤣
The obsession with never enough speed and power is weird.
True man it’s a dangerous hobby
I heard a guy say that the sweet spot for the power band is between 6500 to 8000. I think what's happening is this guy is changing gears too fast.

So question Is 500r, Kawasaki 400 or r3 for starter bike?
If your taller than 5-9 get the CBR shorter than 5-3 get the ninja. In the middle r3. All the power is about the same you just need a safe ride height

Kawasaki ninja 400 is better
My 6 year old can ride his big wheel faster than that pansy bike. 😂
