    • @gbertarelli
      @gbertarelli 4 роки тому +2

      NOT. Grain free means FULL OF LECTINS. So, either way, it's full of lectins. You need to research raw if you want to feed healthy food to your pets. I wrote a long message on how to do it in here to Gabby Robles. Good luck!

      @aurelijagarbanovaite3462 4 роки тому +4

      Yes, but be careful. Grain free can mean less carbs and allergenic or gmo ingredients, but some brands are using the "grain free" label as a tool to make the food look safe, ecological and healthy when sometimes it isn't. So just watch out for legume content. Or even better, feed RAW!

    We lost our beloved Lucy (15.2) on 29th July this year in severe heart diseases and pulmonary hypertension. She was diagnosed in 2017 May. She was fighting for two more years this terrible illness. She was 13 years in prescription W/D trash kibble. When I come across to dr Becker and Rodney I changed to raw home made balanced Diet. That’s how we got the extra 2 years. her little body was just exhausted from the meds and she was weaker every day . I was blessed hold her in my arms when she crossed the rainbow bridge . I want to say thank you for both of you for this incredible work. I believe that this is a big movement and makes a huge different in the pet world.

    I have 3 smaller dogs and 2 of them are on medications to slow the effects of heart failure. I used to feed them organic pasture raised chicken plus organic kibble. After watching your video, I removed the kibble and added carrots, kale and spinach to their chicken. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the very first day I removed the kibble, they felt better. Less hacking, easier breathing, more energy, brighter light in their eyes. It's very simple. You don't need professionals to figure this out. In fact, "professionals" are indoctrinated in the lies that make us SICK or dead and them rich. YOU can do your own research. We need to go back to trusting our own minds. Think about what animals eat in the wild and get as close to it as possible. What helps me is a "meat cutting" butcher that cuts up whole animals for people who ranch or hunt. Ranchers grass feed the animals they get cut up for their families. I get the "trim" for $1 a pound! And it's beautiful, very fresh, cut in fairly small pieces of meat, sinew and some fat, frozen in 3-4 pound bags. I cut it with scissors. For my 13 year old dog I add cooked carrots, cabbage or whatever vegetables I have. I cook batches of carrots or cabbage once a week for her and add hot water (it's warm by the time everything's in there), glucosamine because she's old, and food grade DE to kill parasites. She eats twice a day. I add an egg, fish, liver, heart, kidney, oil, and whatever I feel is needed once or twice a week. Whatever we do we're doing a million x better than that awful dead dried out crap in a bag people feed their pets.
      Try to find a small country butcher and be very discrete (go there in person and pay in cash) because to get it priced that low it's not inspected for humans. Butchers need to have everything FDA approved before selling it and that makes the price go up UP UPPPUP. You need to find that rogue free thinking butcher that's not afraid to THINK for himself and not out to get rich. Good luck!

      But they are talking about Dog health, not People’s health. Dog’s bodies are totally different from human. Dogs are carnivores yet can eat some veggies and minor fruits, but they are carnivores. Humans are omnivores but can survive very well as vegetarians since o believe we are meant to be mostly vegetarians. Just see how the teeth of certain animals that are carnivores are: they are mostly sharp, for tearing down meat. Human teeth are mostly flat and only a few are sharp or straight: like chimpanzees, which don’t eat meat by nature, and the flat teeth are used to munch and tear down leaves, greens, vegetables and fruits. A lot of their protein comes from bugs and things like that. Teeth will tell you what type of food an animal eats or should eat.

      Yeah, hot spots could be allergies. Or bad dog food. I think if you can afford not to give dry kibbles or do them less or at least add some protein and dog safe veggies to their kibbles, you will improve his health tremendously. I learned from them that a lot of dogs are allergic to chicken (I think bc we feed the same food all the time, they can develop allergies or sensitivities). I learned that Turkey (donlow to lower fat) and fish are allergy friendly proteins. Beef should be fine unless your dog have beef allergy. But when you’re adding protein to your dog’s food, or making it all your own, make sure to change the protein every few days to every week. I do eggs every other days bc it’s a cheap source of protein and it’s a complete protein.
      My dog had a hotspot, a stop he was licking on one of his paws for months and once I eliminated the Hills Science diet and Royal Canin my vet had recommend (which I hated giving come some have corn), he stops having the hotspot and stop licking his paw! It could have been rice allergy too...possibly bc some or all of them, can’t remember by now, had brown and white rice...

    I've never been so confused by a video (partly by the sound quality) also who is this guy & what is he saying, that legumes are toxic??? Not referring to the dog side of the equation, although I know it's the reason for the video, but personally when he refers to humans having the same problem when eating legumes I have to disagree.. Yes of course too much of anything is toxic, even the healthiest of foods, so a balanced varied diet is essential.. Myself I've been eating plant based for the last two years & I've never felt better, any blood tests I've had have been spot on nutritionally wise & cholesterol levels are great, so I am baffled by his claims.. Coincidentally on my side bar were other video relating to this guy, so I clicked on a couple & the following one shows him saying that fruits are bad for you and you may as well be eating a bowl full of Skittles candy, what?? Really?!! ua-cam.com/video/RSsmgGpW0bI/v-deo.html

    • @matthirn7858
      @matthirn7858 4 роки тому +3

      I don't think that the video really got properly focused to provide clear direction. The idea that a completely plant based diet where most of the protein is derived from legumes resulting in low cholesterol and feeling better as you stated in your own anecdotal experience is not necessarily inconsistent with what Dr. Gundry is saying. Dilated cardiomyopathy and clogged arteries are two different things. In dilated cardiomyopathy, the heart muscle weakens and does not eject blood effectively. Regarding the eating of fruit, a diet high in fruit, especially tropical fruits will provide far more sugar that the body can readily metabolize at the time of consumption and that is likely to result in the storage of fat. It may not be as bad as Skittles, but it is not good.
      The bottom line of the video is that gut health is important to overall health. Too many lectins as can be the case when consuming lots of legumes will compromise the gut wall. When it comes to dog food, the position being taken here is that a high legume diet is bad for the gut, potentially weakening the body through the infiltration of lectins, bacteria and other undesirable things that get past the gut lining. Replacing animal protein with legumes in dogs results in a critical taurine deficiency and the potential for dilated cardiomyopathy. What was not covered in this video is that Dr. Becker and Rodney Habib strongly advocate that dogs be fed a raw and balanced diet with quality animal protein as the primary component, feeding some plant components to provide needed vitamins/minerals.

      Never heard of that.
      Which breeds are they, and why?

    Soo I'm about to watch the video when an ad from purina dentalife shows up. I feel like a winner pressing that unlike button on the ad.

      Dental treats are not food. You need to feed your dog food and not treats. And nothing is wrong with Purina.

    Please take a moment to fact check what Dr. Gundry is saying here because his research has repeatedly been debunked.

      He's right about lectins but he's losing credibility with all his products and pushing D3. I think his handers have something to do with it. He's become a product that's making money for a lot of people, including his wife. They need something to sell. There's no money in this diet. All we need to do is stop eating what's killing us. We don't need to buy any products, just healthy food. Try not eating nightshades or foods high in lectins and see if you don't feel 100% better in less than a month. It works.
