Nothing fazes John Myung. He's just totally low key about his astounding playing. Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, and Jordan Rudess look like they're shredding their asses off; and John just quietly and confidently kills it on bass.
That's the bass way, right? If it looks like you're trying really hard you need to practice more. :D

This whole gig at the Budokan is one of their best ever, and this medley is, pound for pound, THE most insane and difficult piece they ever performed live. Absolutely terrifying technique and memorization by all four Gods.
I don't think is possible to exist a more difficult guitar song than this.

13 years later and it’s a concert I keep coming back to.
These guys are GODS! I still can't believe how insane this is. After all these years this still just seems an unbelievable performance, just out of this world! For me, these 4 guys will always be the most technically skilled and creative rock/metal artists.

They were definetly in their prime here. I watched this first time when I was 15, I'm now 30 and in this past 15 years I haven't found any other instrumentalists that can compose and perform at this level. Some can come close sometimes, but this was and still is just insane.
And I think the creative part is very important - i'm not so fan of liquid tension experiment covers by sherinian, mcAlpine, billy sheehan, and they're all beasts too

I was stoned yesterday and went to listen to DT and I listened to this same song two times. I only noticed that at the end of the second listen. Haha. Well I am glad I watched it two times. Enjoyed both times. What an awesome band!

Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From Memory is the most beautiful album I've ever listened. And Dream Theater is the most wonderful metal bands I've ever seen/listened. I love this band but I think Portnoy shouldn't give up this band. New album(Astonishing) is wonderful but We miss Portnoy's soul. Expecially lyrics
+Mert Portnoy Mike stated that he just wanted a break. He was done with his break and DT wouldn't let him back in. They didn't suck it up.
Portnoy fans always cite his "soul", "feeling", "vibe", or "energy" because they know when it comes to actual talent and creativity Mangini has him completely matched but they still want a reason to complain
+tj12711 But Mangini is lacking the soul, feel, and vibe like Portnoy did. Listen to The Spirit Carries On. Doesn't matter which video you choose, they both have played it live, and you can literally feel the energy and soul Portnoy puts in the music while Mangini is lacking feeling.
I just met these guys last night in Detroit. What a truly amazing experience. To be able to shake the hands of some of the best in the business is incredible.
