Nothing super exciting for today but I thought I would document my week of driving my montana registered X3. I definitely plan on doing this again in the winter with a mic so the audio isn’t so bad but hopefully you all enjoy nonetheless! Stay tuned for my detailed walkthrough on how you can make your SXS street legal as well.
I know this is an old video and probably no one will respond but I have a question, Are these good for everyday usage, what is the lifespan, if used daily, how many years?
I drive my SXS to work every day. (I’m in Utah.) the ppl from Cali are the only ppl who cry about SXS on the road in Utah. I hate cali ppl that want to change our Local Laws.
Love this statement to drive the sxs daily to work. Same like me here in germany, a country/state where laws forbidden whatever you want to do. But here it's possible to operate a X3 as "agriculture" - car and got a street legal license. If I drove to work, most peeps very shocking about this mars-rover from CAN AM. This moments make my day.
I drove my RZR on the street for the first 300 miles of owning it to do a gentle break-in. I feel like my machine has such higher miles now than most other 2021's haha. Also started smoking my ITP Coyotes so I quit doing it.
If its truly street legal i wouldn't really be worried but if you're going to drive stupid just because your a modified side by side rhen its really dumb the side by side is going to draw enough attention by itself. Then you're just reassuring that you're going to get in trouble by driving stupid
I have 3 different ones and they are all street legal and I drive them all the time all over the place. Safer than a motorcycle and safer than most cars that don't have complete roll cages. I don't drive on interstates though. I pump up my carnivores so they don't "grind out" too early on the pavement. Also, I wear my earbuds to help with the noise as I do when I'm on one of my bikes.
Drive it all the time it’s like driving a street bike with four wheels Can Am real,t killed it with the colors on that one 👍👍👍👍👍Street Legal is Great Question I live in Maryland and you can’t register side-by-side’s in Maryland I don’t know why my sister lives in West Virginia and I have family in other parts of Maryland that played great females from Pennsylvania you wouldn’t even know it was Pennsylvania from Maryland because you’re on back roads but you can tag side-by-side in Pennsylvania if you have it tagged in Pennsylvania can you drive it in Maryland I’m not sure how that works with the side-by-side?
I am suprised you can drive on any highway, here in idaho that isnt allowed. Which sucks because it will 100 no problem. It cruises at 55 no issue. Yet they now let japanese mini trucks on the roads.
That's not the blowoff valve, that's actually just the sound of the turbo coming through the intake. If you purchase Evo's High Flow Intake kit you'll be able to hear some of that but it's not super loud on the stock turbo. Once you get into their Desert Storm kit it's crazy loud. I'm running their blowoff valve as well though.
Where are you that it's legal to drive on the freeway? Where I'm at in Utah it's legal to drive on the highway, but they want you to do 50mph on the side with hazards on. Nobody follows that too much depending on where you live. But the freeway would be awesome if they opened it up to SXS's also.
Did you make gains making the exhaust that loud? I mean after awhile it must get annoying. I bought a CR500 in 1984, the last of the air cooled. I ran Answer Products exhaust with a spark arrestor. The thing stuck out so far that I cut the stock muffler in half and it looked and ran fine. I ran it mostly in the desert. First 2 stroke I bought was a 1973 250 Elsinore. I put a Basanni down pipe with a 4-1/4" outlet on it. What bugged me the most was my 1992 XR250L with the 250R exhaust and the racing Supertrapp. I totally blasted drivers windows when cutting cars. It was annoying on canyon fire roads. I finally had to replace the racing Supertrapp with the forest legal one. I was running Dynojet needle and jets, the bike wouldn't idle new with the stock setup. Dealer even remarked "This bike idles like Schitt". Other than the noise, I never felt a difference in power.
quick question, this might sound very stupid but if i register my can am in arizona or states where it’s legal to drive a sxs on a street, could i be able to drive it on california streets?
Yep. That is exactly how people drive these in nonlegal states. He even says it in the video. Just look up, how to make an SxS legal in your state, and you'll find a ton of sites that will help you set it up.
@@ernestclyde this is not entirely true. If your vehicle is registered with the DOT in a different state you are protected. He mentions in the video that a cop might try to give him a ticket anyway but it would just get thrown out in court.
I know this is an old video and probably no one will respond but I have a question, Are these good for everyday usage, what is the lifespan, if used daily, how many years?
Why are you acting like you're doing something wrong? You said your x3 is registered and tagged. So, it's legal to drive on the street, so quit acting like a bad boy.. Cops could care less.
This isn't Arizona, cops don't know the law. There have been numerous instances where people with Montana tags have gotten the book thrown at them and spent months in and out of court. I know that if I had to go to court, I would win, but it doesn't necessarily sound fun either.
I daily drive mine. It's in the grey area. It's tagged registered and insured. Even passed inspection and got a on road plate. The problem is they are legal in NM but it's up to the counties. Some asshole literally ran down and killed a kid and took off while the kid was crossing the street and had the right of way. Now anything bad a side by side does is on the news and people are like get them off the street they are dangerous. Yeah how many car accidents and death by cars vs side by sides? All it takes is one to ruin it. They did a fundraiser for the family but still SXS are evil. I live in the desert most people have some type of off road vehicle
@@BigTicketMods How would this work in Texas? (Get it registered in Arizona, Montana, or Utah) Get all the road legal stuff, smog, plates, auto insurance. How would this work with me having a Texas driver's license?
@@DannyDVeteranO5 it gets registered to an out of state Llc, that you create. It gets around the 30 day transfer law. How much was it to make it street legal?
As someone who lives in MT.... this is nothing out of the ordinary.
That thing is absolutely insane I love it.

U got a turbo timer ⏲ 👀 🤔?

But i really wish they make manuals tho
And is Evo going to make a turbo for the XD Ranger?
Damn my guy I can see how smart you are with all that forehead shining

what’s you fuel mileage on this beast? roughly?
Not much probably like 7mpg on E85.
Why not the electric?

What tire number are u running for the street
What is that screen though????

How many mpgs do you get?
What gauge cluster is that
Are those 32s on a DS
Yes, 70" wide now.
What mods do you have on this?
Mayb jis Utah but on highway it's not really geared for it trans won't last n it's not 400😊

It's a 2020 64" 120hp base model.
I wish offroad vehicles wcojld just be street legal lmao
How many miles can you get out of a tank of e85
I haven’t ever done a true test but I estimate about 70 miles.
can't drive interstates in Oklahoma
do you have a fan override switch ?
I do not
When you get these tuned the fans kick in extra early.
What kind of cluster gauge are you using?
Curious too, looks awesome
