The US is on defense. Just like the empires before the US. It is in a dire situation where the hands are tied due to the misconducts already committed leading to this date. To this end, Trump's MAGA might make some sense if it is geared towards radical changes in the domestic economic and political behaviors.
This Chinaman is pretty good....I don't think there is any hope of US/China relationship normalizing as long as China is rising and US declining....For those who do not believe the US is declining, just look at its rising Debt and interest payment.
Indeed, the US on defense in a manner that political establishment is seemingly in a loss of confidence... Or, simply wants to make a pre-emptive move to suppress the Chinese development.
For China survival, it in no needs to replace the western world. The overtaking comments like Cold War era vocabulary. CCP is not real communists party anymore. It’s the party including capitalists and against class ideology and struggle. It’s against dictatorship of proletariat too. It’s political ideology very much like the Singapore’s. And same as Singapore, it very much wants to have close cooperation relations with western countries for ever.
someone said, the US needs an enemy to keep its purpose of existence. A sense of self-appointed savior to the world... As Biden says he is protecting Democracy in the world... He is rallying allies under the umbrella of democracy and like-minded.... it might be rooted in the Christian teaching...
The US “made” China a manufacturing giant. US business aggressively sought to “off shore” manufacturing and did so. Companies created positions and dispatched American personnel to China to “develop” manufacturing expertise, and achieve a level of quality in products to “displace” goods and products manufactured in America or anywhere other than China. I recall “special procurement” teams being created to literally “police” purchase orders and assure all purchases possible were directed to “Low Cost Countries”, meaning primarily China. Talk about a mess… internal conflict raged on between business unit managers (responsible for ultimate manufacturing cost control), day to day operations managers, and maintenance managers. So…you just read that I said American companies made China a manufacturing giant. The US dispatched personnel to China to help create new manufacturing facilities and produce quality products. US companies essentially forced all purchases possible to LCC suppliers. “Low Cost Country” suppliers. You read that I said it was quite a challenge to accept the transition to LCC products. One particular type of “targeted products” comes to mind, when I share how challenging such a transition rendered. That would be… high VALVES. There is no room for poor quality with such equipment. Anyone who held a management position in industries that included processes that had to be controlled. Hazards are real… well made valves are essential. The time frame I am referencing here are the mid 2000s. Everyday… the message to employees was “Safety first”, followed closely by “quality”. That is a good message for any business. So… if you worked in a manufacturing business 2002 - 2010 and your company was pushing to buy only products and materials from LCC sources, you know what I am talking about. Over time, Chinese manufacturing quality improved. The transition was hell on earth. Like preaching safe work and quality production, but buying less than “standard” quality materials and equipment. So now… China has hit the wall (just like Japan had done in the 1980s). China is no longer the Low Cost Labor Source, which was their only true advantage. Demographics has literally doomed China. The guest did not talk about that much. BRICS and the BRI will not save China. Neither will invasion of Taiwan. Globalization was a Capitalist initiative, preceded by post WWII initiatives like the Marshall Plan and the Bretton Woods agreement. Without the US, there is no World Trade Organization. As globalization winds down… the old world “ways and means” will pass. Bitch and gripe all you want, but North America is the promised land.
Open up? Are you aware how much business the US has in China? China never sets barriers of entry unless they need to respond to hostile trade sanctions imposed by other nations!
Do you know that China is Australia largest trading partner, accounting for 27% of our two-way trade? Do you know many Australian businesses survived because of China especially in major exports like coal, iron ore, agriculture produces? So, you know why Albanese keeps mending ties with China?
Don’t worry. Chinese economy is alive and kicking, they can still afford sending hundreds of jet fighters and battleships to threaten Taiwan and Philippine everyday.
Wow the guest is very sharp and insightful economic analyst. So the question is why is US still got its read wrong on China.
He doesn't speak opinions and feelings and fantasized situations

Damn.. that’s so racist calling him chinaman

Chinaman can be considered a slur. I wouldn't use that to avoid confusion.
Shan WeiJian talks sense.
He's a spy from CCP.
Mooch is a global thought leader now.
Interesting interview 👍👍

Why is people talking about China all day long? Americans got way too many things on hand, just concentrate.

The usual reason look over their and ignore the pile of 💩 over HERE the pile that we made and you are knee deep in.
Because the US government can't solve the domestic issues. It's always easier to blame on others. China is the most convenient target or scapegoat.
↗↗⬆the NEXT CHINA IS STILL...CHINA!

If he is pro freetrade he should lobby for China to open up. Even salt is closed off from foreign firms lol. Salt.

Decouple.
And be a poor country 😢
idiots think about division ... and smart people think about addition
As an Australian I haven’t bought anything made in China for years.
Do you know that China is Australia largest trading partner, accounting for 27% of our two-way trade? Do you know many Australian businesses survived because of China especially in major exports like coal, iron ore, agriculture produces? So, you know why Albanese keeps mending ties with China?
I doubt that.
You bought a ton of it. You just didn’t know
But, you might have directly or indirectly bought a lot of Chinese products, unwittingly.
5% for China wt about USA? 1-2% snail paced?
