    Hai Ziet! What is your thought about IBKR want to notify our employer on our trading activities? Do you think this is a good idea? By the way, this happened when you declared you/immediate family members are working in the financial services industry. They didn’t require this during the account opening, but the annual review require to complete this, otherwise cannot proceed with trading. Do you think this is a good idea, or should just migrate to other broker?

    Which one is better lumpsum and SIP investment and for what number of shares in terms of brokerage fee and the 15% saving, is it ireland or US etfs?
    I already saw your video about this question, but that is not for halal etfs. Thank you so much doing this video😊

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi there! It really depends on your financial situation and risk tolerance ya - Lump sum can be great if you have a large amount to invest and believe the market timing is right. SIP, on the other hand, helps in averaging out the market volatility and might be more suitable if you prefer regular, smaller investments. Personally I'd prefer SIP (Dollar cost averaging)!
      Regarding the brokerage fees and the 15% saving, the ones shown here are 2 US, 2 Ireland ETFs - but you can actually refer the same video (of the fee optimisation for DCA), it should be applicable to this as well! (i.e. better go for US ETFs unless you have roughly >500 USD per trade for Ireland ETFs).
      Hope this helps!

    Hey Ziet
    I am an Indian national living in Malaysia. It makes more sense for me to invest from a 3rd party app that is approved by Indian government. All the apps i checked only have us domiciled etf options . According to india - us treaty i need to pay 25 percent tax on dividends. Is it worth the hassle to buy the Irish domiciled etfs through other means to only pay 15 percent tax ?

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  10 місяців тому

      Hi, in most cases yes because most brokers will charge you a hefty fee to buy on London Stock Exchange.
      For IBKR, you will also need to buy a certain amount and above to be able to really benefit from the Irish 15% dividend withholding tax, i've made a video covering it before so feel free to check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/zwpJIP1aNFI/v-deo.htmlsi=5V9Su7dh77pvB8l8

    Hi Ziet when we withdraw money (sell) from Wahed Invest, would all our dividends from the HLAL ETF will be subjected to a 30% US tax?

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  4 місяці тому

      Hi beni! For dividends from US ETFs like HLAL, they are indeed typically subject to a withholding tax by the US government, which can be up to 30%. It's not taxed by Malaysian government yea (when you sell, thats capital gains, as far as i know that - foreign investment income is not taxable in Malaysia)
