Thank you so much for posting this beautiful video of my hometown. My family has roots there going back 150+ years since long before the town was actually incorporated. I think some of the Odawa parts of my family can trace their residency in the area back as far as two centuries. I currently live outside of Birmingham AL and often get homesick now that I've entered middle age. Being on the edge of the Appalachians often reminds me of northern lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula but we don't have Lake Michigan. There are small inland lakes scattered here and there much like northern Michigan and of course there is the Gulf about 4 1/2 hours from here but nothing compares to living on Little Traverse Bay. Over the last few years I've been thinking a lot about moving back there and I'm pretty sure come hell or high water I'll end up living the last several decades of my life there. I can't believe how much I took for granted how special it was and still is.

That’s similar to how I feel. Took it for granted at a young age, now I visit regularly and hope to retire back home
